Great lesson! Thank you so much for posting it. Please let me know what you think of my video response. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. God bless you for sharing your musical talent.
Thanks for the help. It's so simple now...I just started playing in the worship band at church and this will be played next Sunday. This helped me out a lot. Praise God & thank you!
He said the strumming pattern depends on how he sings on most of his songs... however, if the song is a slow song or fast song, he would probably strum using this slow/fast strumming. Check out his fast/slow strumming video tutorial
i wanted to thank you for these videos, but i wondering if you could possibly include the strumming pattern. if you could, that would be a lot of help, especially for beginners like me.
I wanted to thank you so much for this instructional video. I used to play it in a much much MUCH simpler way with G-Csus-D... because those were basically the only chords I knew :o) I'm able to play it now in D, as you've shown and I have a long way to go before I'll be able to play it in E. Keep up the good work and God bless you according to His perfect will !!
Hey This song is totally AWESOME! You are amazind! What Is the Umm Umm The I don't know, the slow beggining for the bridge pattern? Sorry don't exactly know how to word it. Like the single strums or something like that. Thanks
you can use this same basic strum pattern for the chorus as well, or mix it up a little. Try using the simple pattern for the D, and a more down up down up pattern for the G and A. Just try it by feel, it takes a while but start off simple, then change it up.
A simple strum pattern would be: D: D D D U G: D D D U D: D D D U A: D D D U Or: D: DDD DU G: DDD DU D: DDD DU A: DDD DU I'll try and post a video on strumming for this song, I have been slacking on new videos lately. Thanks
you can strum the last 5 strings, a D chord is made up with D F# and A notes, so the A (5th) string works in that chord. The low E (6th) doesn't really work
Thank you soooo much. My church has a very weak youth group and i decided 2 learn how 2 play the guitar so that my youth group could hopefully become more involved. Ive learned 3 songs from your tutorials. May God bless you and keep you safe.
I am a new guitar player, have been playing only a month and you make it very easy to learn these great songs. Thanks, God bless keep up the great videos, you are a blessing
man thank you soo much! i am using this for this youth ministry called JAMS in Guam... its for my praise and worship times so its thanks to you i know how to play these songs to share with them! God bless and keep up great work of God
I love the chords you used for this one, sounds great. But I really need you to explain the strum pattern you used, along with the "delay" you spoke of. It looks kinda like you split the measure with the pattern. Could you explain just a little bit more.
The strum pattern is just a slow strum, you can incorporate picking individual strings. It would be kind of like a "down down up down up down" strum pattern with counting "1 2 3 and 4 and" while you strum. As far as the delay it's just that I'm not changing chords exactly on the beats, almost on an off beat. It's a feel thing, some of the changes like from D to G I delay almost a full beat before changing, then back to D it's a quicker change. Just play it how you feel it, hope this helps.
Thank you. I just now found your reply. I have been following all your videos and you have done a good job of explaining some of your strumming. Please continue to explain as much of your techniques as you can, it really does help those of us who are leaning. I love the work you have done so far, please continue.

hello im a new guitar player too. thank you soo much
also how does the strum go?
like not the chords but like....down down up up whatever hhaha

basic strum pattern would be:
Verses:
down down down up (D)
down down down up (G)
down down down up (D)
down down down up (A)
