I bought the Nintendo DS Lite because of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl so I loved it back then but it kinda pushed the franchise down. I did buy Pokemon White and I didn't really like it. The magic is just not their anymore. Nintendo's just trying to earn a quick buck I guess. Anyway this was the last Pokemon game I'm buying. And before I get hate from the fanboys, I've played Pokemon games since Red and Blue.

The time of release is questionable, but trust me, if they do plan on expanding it into a third version, and doing a remake of the gen 3 games, it's most likely going to be developed for the DS, same system as these two, why? It's exactly the same thing they did with Emerald version, released after the DS came out, guess what? for the GBA.

I love these games so much, it's what got me into RPGs, I remember when I first played my first pokemon game which was Gold, I got this feeling and ever since I can only get that warm happy feeling when I play a new Pokemon game that I haven't experienced yet. It's such an amazing series and I'll always love it.
this game is addicting... I sold it late 2011 cause i needed some things. Now I've just ordered it again... along with pokemon platinum... lesson learned, don't sell pokemon games cause you'll regret it.
I love the Pokemon series. I began playing back in gen 3, which is to this day my favorite generation. I decided not to buy a gen 5 game because i had gotten bored and there were too many pokemon to keep track of, so i stuck with replaying old ones. I am ecstatic to learn that so many people have said this game is original, different, and a great place to get back in. I have decided to actually buy this game.

The thing about this game(s) that keeps bringing people back, is the fact that people actually bond with the game. Sounds silly? It probably does, but it is true. The thing about PoKemon games is that we really get into it, whether we realize it or not, and or accept it. Why?
Because deep down we all want to go on an adventure with friends and just have a blast.

Gens 1-4 where all amazing. The gameplay on the new games looks pretty good. But looking at the new pokemon, I must say they are terrible. They look like something a freaking four year old thought up of in a couple of seconds. The names sound freaking retarded as well. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like everyone is too busy sucking the developer's dicks to realize that this game sticks out amongst the other games like an ugly tumor.
@Mechanecro So a pokemon like Volcarona must've been drawn by a four year old, while it takes an artist to draw DItto or DIglett? Though this gen is supposed to be a parallel to 1st gen in some pokemon, so even though the mushroom pokemon looks stupid, I think its a neat little organic version of Voltorb/Electrode. As for the coffin, its a pretty neat idea, because it has potential for a shadow mummy evo. If GF is willing to give it an evo that is.

And the gens after gen 1 have as much creativity. Original may be the best, but NOT the most creative. Jynx, Mr Mime, Seel, Voltorb, Magnemite, Muk, Tangela and Diglett are my examples. SURELY you cant say that a pile of sludge is more creative than a three headed dragon?

Generation 3 was actually my favorite along with one and two. Four was all right it had its problems but its GOD compared to the 5th generation. We got Ice Cream, genies, and a fucking pigbatcotton monster. TERRIBLE !!!!! I stopped with Heartgold and Soulsilver and even if they make a spectacular 6th generation, I still will not get it because these Pokemon would still be there. Thanks Nintendo for destroying one of the best franchises ever created in the history of gaming.

I would also be willing to bet that gray (or whatever they are going to call it) will come out before the ruby and Sapphire remakes do and there have been no word about gray (at least no official word). Wait a bit for either Nintendo or Gamefreak to say that Ruby and Sapphire are going to get a remake. It may be inevitable, but a gamestop employee could just be speculating.

black and white does suck. both the show and the game. i studies pokemon since i was 8(now im 11) and i memorized EVERYTHING from the original series! a week later, THEY PUT OUT THE NEW SHOW! they copy most of the pokemon from the original series, black+white=SUCKISH

While Black/White were innovative in some aspects, I personally found the game to be too different then the ones I grew up with. Nintendo's necessity to appeal to the "graphic" fans created awkward angles and turns throughout the whole game. Not to mention the deviation from a true safari zone and an ordered E4 just made the game seem weird. I think they went too far away from the basics. Keep Pokemart and Poke center seperate!

Can you catch all of the old pokemon after you beat the elite four? Or are only a few old pokemon available? How many pokemon are actually catchable in the game? (200, 300??). Thanks!
@LazarazFanfiction There are only a few old pokemon available, like 200 or something, in the eastern part of the region. But if you have white you can catch 35 old pokemon which are not obtainable in the black version, some of them very rare even in older versions, like porygon or bagon.

@LazarazFanfiction you can just catch a handful of them, you can only get a good amount of them by trading from the other DS games or the dream world, but the last one is incredibly annoying and boring.

@LazarazFanfiction Yes it is possible to catch all the pokemon from the old series, but you cant catch any legendary pokemon, but it does allow you to put codes in, and transfer pokemon from older versions. :)

the biggest downside to this game is the Pokemon it self... u don't really get access to any really cool Pokemon till your close to the end of the main storyline. and there aren't many cool Pokemon with high special Att witch isnt as crucial as it used 2 be but still limits strategy for the advanced player who likes both cool interesting and powerful strategic mix's all in 1 cause of that i would give it a 7/10 9.5/10 if it didnt have a huge (what i would call) flaw like that

I couldn't get through the first couple of gyms when I first played this because it felt like the original games with characters that replicated those. I found a tadpole pokemon, realized it wasn't poliwag and just had to turn the game off... However, the enthusiasm I've seen for this game I'd making me feel a little hasty, and now I'm close to finishing the pokedex on my heart gold version it appears I'll have to retry

@AFGThugonomics I don't know, man, do you think a pokeball pokemon was creative? Or just a pile of... something? They pulled that one so many times already, what with the Muk line, Ditto, Gulpin (sort of), and even with just the birds, just repainting them each gen, this one DOES feel fresh, even if that because they locked out the others. Making us try out new pokemon, versus getting Geodude, Zubat, and Tentacool every game really changes the feel and makes me feel like this really is creative.
@AlmondOK Well back then when Pokemon was FIRST created anyone was expecting anything. In Gen 2,3 and 4 it did improve kinda. Alot of them were based on animals but in Gen 5 a lot is based on Items. Trash bag etc. This Gen just had no creativity and their starting to run out of idea's. Story and graphics are nice though. But the Pokemon? Not really. I still have some favorites in Gen 5.

Eh..I've been playing since they came out too. I didn't like how they took out so many things and the pokemon seem uncreative. Good storyline though. I like random matchup. They've made it easier to connect with the world. I miss magikarp. Pokemon is still addicting because of the raising complexities.
I have no idea why people hate on B/W's Pokemon. I LOVE B/W's story, the majority of the new Pokemon (there's always Pokemon you'll hate in every generation, those you love and those that are inbetween). I loved that there's more interaction between NPC's and that there's more to the Gym Leaders than just a person you have to beat to proceed.
Unova is one of the most innovative, greatest regions in Pokemon history (behind Kanto and Johto, relatively tied with Hoenn)
@ViewtifulBeau Really? I'll concede that TM's are a kind of odd thing to do, but it makes things more convenient and easier. You no longer have to grind against Trainers to get the money necessary to buy another, or you don't have to grind at the Game Corner to get enough Coins either.
As for the Pokemon moving, what's so bad about that? xD I've never seen one person ever call the game out because of fully animated sprites. Everybody else I've talked to loves it.

Hopefully they will release a Pokemon Gray which has rematches, and a Battle Frontier (though sure, one could argue the Battle Subway is kind of like a Frontier Facility...but it's not the same as a full Frontier).

Gens 1-4 where all amazing. The gameplay on the new games looks pretty good. But looking at the new pokemon, I must say they are terrible. They look like something a freaking four year old thought up of in a couple of seconds. The names sound freaking retarded as well. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like everyone is too busy sucking the developer's dicks to realize that this game sticks out amongst the other games like an ugly tumor.

Though this gen is supposed to be a parallel to 1st gen in some pokemon, so even though the mushroom pokemon looks stupid, I think its a neat little organic version of Voltorb/Electrode. As for the coffin, its a pretty neat idea, because it has potential for a shadow mummy evo. If GF is willing to give it an evo that is.

And the gens after gen 1 have as much creativity. Original may be the best, but NOT the most creative. Jynx, Mr Mime, Seel, Voltorb, Magnemite, Muk, Tangela and Diglett are my examples. SURELY you cant say that a pile of sludge is more creative than a three headed dragon?

Gen 2 was except-able and had a great journey.
Gen 3 was new and was a new evolution in the series
Gen 4 was pushing that new idea but kinda went kiddy with it.
Gen 5 the series continue's using it but looses the magic and is now appealing to children of this generation.

Generation 3 was actually my favorite along with one and two. Four was all right it had its problems but its GOD compared to the 5th generation. We got Ice Cream, genies, and a fucking pigbatcotton monster. TERRIBLE !!!!! I stopped with Heartgold and Soulsilver and even if they make a spectacular 6th generation, I still will not get it because these Pokemon would still be there. Thanks Nintendo for destroying one of the best franchises ever created in the history of gaming.

While Black/White were innovative in some aspects, I personally found the game to be too different then the ones I grew up with. Nintendo's necessity to appeal to the "graphic" fans created awkward angles and turns throughout the whole game. Not to mention the deviation from a true safari zone and an ordered E4 just made the game seem weird. I think they went too far away from the basics. Keep Pokemart and Poke center seperate!

the biggest downside to this game is the Pokemon it self... u don't really get access to any really cool Pokemon till your close to the end of the main storyline. and there aren't many cool Pokemon with high special Att witch isnt as crucial as it used 2 be but still limits strategy for the advanced player who likes both cool interesting and powerful strategic mix's all in 1 cause of that i would give it a 7/10 9.5/10 if it didnt have a huge (what i would call) flaw like that

I couldn't get through the first couple of gyms when I first played this because it felt like the original games with characters that replicated those. I found a tadpole pokemon, realized it wasn't poliwag and just had to turn the game off... However, the enthusiasm I've seen for this game I'd making me feel a little hasty, and now I'm close to finishing the pokedex on my heart gold version it appears I'll have to retry

@AFGThugonomics I don't know, man, do you think a pokeball pokemon was creative? Or just a pile of... something? They pulled that one so many times already, what with the Muk line, Ditto, Gulpin (sort of), and even with just the birds, just repainting them each gen, this one DOES feel fresh, even if that because they locked out the others. Making us try out new pokemon, versus getting Geodude, Zubat, and Tentacool every game really changes the feel and makes me feel like this really is creative.

@AlmondOK Well back then when Pokemon was FIRST created anyone was expecting anything. In Gen 2,3 and 4 it did improve kinda. Alot of them were based on animals but in Gen 5 a lot is based on Items. Trash bag etc. This Gen just had no creativity and their starting to run out of idea's. Story and graphics are nice though. But the Pokemon? Not really. I still have some favorites in Gen 5.

I have no idea why people hate on B/W's Pokemon. I LOVE B/W's story, the majority of the new Pokemon (there's always Pokemon you'll hate in every generation, those you love and those that are inbetween). I loved that there's more interaction between NPC's and that there's more to the Gym Leaders than just a person you have to beat to proceed.
Unova is one of the most innovative, greatest regions in Pokemon history (behind Kanto and Johto, relatively tied with Hoenn)

@ViewtifulBeau Really? I'll concede that TM's are a kind of odd thing to do, but it makes things more convenient and easier. You no longer have to grind against Trainers to get the money necessary to buy another, or you don't have to grind at the Game Corner to get enough Coins either.
As for the Pokemon moving, what's so bad about that? xD I've never seen one person ever call the game out because of fully animated sprites. Everybody else I've talked to loves it.
