Black queen could have moved to e6 instead of taking the bishop at f8.

That Bishop sacrifice seemed very sound to me ... after Bd3, Kasparov is setting a bait.
If Chuchelov falls for that trap, say exf4, then Bxh7, followed by Bg6 and the queen will be trapped.
If Qd8, then Ne6... and black loses material
Knights are working in harmony while the rook has all the scope it needs to influence the d-file.
