in every vid. there's always argument between muscle and 4 banger imports. there are preference and price range. when it comes down to race it dosnt matter if you have v8 or 4 cyl. race is race. i drive both v8 and 4 banger. if i wanted to win i race with my v8. trust me v8 can kills easy if you mod it too. but its more fun to me driving a small honda engine that can produce huge amount of power. its also fun to pick a race with other stock car like evo, sti etc with honda motor.
fixing up a slow car to make it fast is the most fun part. specially when it comes down to honda motor. its the cheapest and fastest 4 cyl you can play with. v8 is fast as is for stock. but it isnt as fun to play with bcuz its already fast.
v8 always win on drag. 4 cyl better on track. choose your style of play. you want to play on track or drag.

No, 4 cylinder is not better on the track. First of all, a C5Z06 will destroy an RSX at the track. It has far superior handling and braking. Second, N/A power is always prefered over turbo power at the track for it's superior power delivery and absence of heat soak.
I find it hard to believe that the vette would win if it only has a 30 hp advantage... but then again, there is a passenger in the RSX... 150 plus pounds makes a hugh difference.

hey guys, i am the owner and driver of the rsx. I can confirm that i put 417whp and 300wtq down on a dynodynamics dyno. The vette mentioned he was closer to 450whp. This is believable altho it sounds as if its making more, but remember its making just as much torque as it is hp so yea he does have that edge and thats a good reason why he pulled on me, and i have bad topend due to the small turbos backside(sc6152). Each race was up to 145-150mph and we started at 40mph.
the Z06 doesn't weigh much more than the rsx 2900lbs soudns about right w/ my turbo setup and all and 3100 for the vette is nearly correct. I had myself and the camera man so thats an additional 300lbs and he had just himself another 180-200lb guy. It was a good fair matchup and fun as f*** much respect for both cars.
i don't know but either that ZO6 is making more power than 430 or the RSX is not really making 400whp. I guess weight makes a big difference because 450whp in my EG Civic would run down V8's like a bat out of hell. I still like DC5's they look tight. How much does a RSX weigh? anyone

RSX type-s weighs around 2800 lbs. pretty lightweight car, considering c5 z06 is around 3200 lbs. dc5 is a good car and fast too. but it tends to understeer around corners when reaching the limits. dc2 is alot more well-balanced then dc5, i think. i have a dc2 type-r and it's hell of alot better then dc5 in handling. but dc5 has more top speed. my choice in this video, the z06. weird.
I run a Full-Race Stage 3GT on my RSX-S so I'm well aware of what these (kits/cars) can do. You could easily push an extra 100-150 whp on pump gas out of your kit. Have you done so after this video and if not why? Just curious.
Reason being i got the full-race kit but the stage1 non GT kit w/ the baby turbo, i got a really good deal on an sc61 so i sold the disco potatoe and slapped on the sc61 which is the same as the t61 that comes on the Full-race stage 3. I can't produce anymore power because im still returnless and maxed out on fuel.

First off Full Race is the absolute ISH - I have their twin scroll gt35r kit on my suby and a friend of mine has their s2k gt30r kit, top notch craftsmanship. FYI though, turbo catless z06 on pump is like 650whp...
x 2. I'm running the Full-Race GT35R kit on my RSX-S. Full-Race is defenetly top of the line. For those of you who dont' know, the GT35R kit is apable of supporting low 600 whp on pump gas and upper 600whp range on c16. Apparently this guy was running low boost.
I really have a hard time believing this bit: "C5 Z06~ cams, headers, intake, straight pipe exhaust, and tune= 450whp" Seeing as how the C5 Z06 makes 405 hp at the crank stock. Perhaps you meant hp instead of whp.
In response to the power of the ZO6... I am just relaying what the owner said he had (both cars are underrated crank hp wise in the video... not sure if you know about the ZO6 or not but i put down 417whp- so my crank is in the upper 400's- and saying the vette comes with 405hp stock (and doesn't lose much to the wheels) then its safe to say cams, header, exhaust, intake, tune will add an addition 50-70hp easily.

LS + Boost = 600+ at low boost with stock internals and high comp pistons. That's unbeatable IMO.

i own a 06 rsx and that was a nice race the full race kit alone is around 5500 correct me if im wrong on that. the z06 cost what about 60000 and the rsx started at 23800? plus a turbo kit with labor under 30000...wow half of the price of the z06 its sad so many people love the vette and i only love the acceleration. yes 206guy they are pretty quick for a "Supercar" but there put together so shitty! you hear creeks as the chassis flex's around corners. but thats a chevy for you. I'll take that. Look at the track times. The Z06 is WAAAAAAAAAY closer to the 997 turbo than the RSX or any similar car is to the Z06. Agree?

I don't want to argue about C6Z06 vs. 997 Turbo. But the car's performance is extremely close. Go to fastestlaps(dot)com and compare lap times. Z06 wins on 7/13 tracks and has a higher top speed. 997 turbo wins on 6 tracks (and I'm giving it Nurburgring) and a quicker 1/4 mile. Those two cars could go either way depending on track and driver. Given a choice, I'd take the turbo any day, unless I had to pay for it, of course.

With methanol injection I should lay down 500rwhp and the whole was accomplished for under 14 grand, including car. You are 100% right. I'd never pay the exhorbitant price for an EVO, STi or even RSX for that matter.

Thanks. If you just want to buy to use stock, it's dominant. If you want to mod, it's already a performance platform. It's light, RWD, and has displacement that allows it to make big gains either N/A or FI. Plus it has a driveline and tires sizes that will allow you put put the extra power to use. Search for your car nationally. It will be hard to find the one you want locally because there just aren't that many around. Use corvetteforum as a source for good info. Good luck!
YOu should check out sport compact car magazine. It's far from the standard rice rag and they did a comparison between 8 cars to see which is the ultimate street car and one of the cars was a supercharger C5 Z06 owned by stoptech brakes. In the braking test, modded brakes for modded brakes by the way, the STOPTECH owned Z06 was destroyed by the Skyline R34 and Infiniti G35 and I even believe the Audi S4! My point is that stats are relative.

I agree the Z06 does have some chassis flex. But by production car standards, it is very rigid, not the floppy, rattly car that was suggested. I disagree it is "engineered" in. A pefectly rigid car couls still ride very soft through the tires and suspension.
That's more dependent on the spring rates, and rebound of the suspension than anything. Again, your point is valid in that the Vette and the RSX are engineered to different standards. The RSX is a commuter car. It's just neat that as such if you want, you can make it into a pretty fast car with not a lot of money.

well an RSX stock dry weight is like almsot 2800 but with mids probabyl almost 2900lbs. A Corvette isn;t much more at about a bi tover 3100lbs

hey guys, i am the owner and driver of the rsx. I can confirm that i put 417whp and 300wtq down on a dynodynamics dyno. The vette mentioned he was closer to 450whp. This is believable altho it sounds as if its making more, but remember its making just as much torque as it is hp so yea he does have that edge and thats a good reason why he pulled on me, and i have bad topend due to the small turbos backside(sc6152). Each race was up to 145-150mph and we started at 40mph.

the Z06 doesn't weigh much more than the rsx 2900lbs soudns about right w/ my turbo setup and all and 3100 for the vette is nearly correct. I had myself and the camera man so thats an additional 300lbs and he had just himself another 180-200lb guy. It was a good fair matchup and fun as f*** much respect for both cars.

RSX type-s weighs around 2800 lbs. pretty lightweight car, considering c5 z06 is around 3200 lbs. dc5 is a good car and fast too. but it tends to understeer around corners when reaching the limits. dc2 is alot more well-balanced then dc5, i think. i have a dc2 type-r and it's hell of alot better then dc5 in handling. but dc5 has more top speed. my choice in this video, the z06. weird.

I run a Full-Race Stage 3GT on my RSX-S so I'm well aware of what these (kits/cars) can do. You could easily push an extra 100-150 whp on pump gas out of your kit. Have you done so after this video and if not why? Just curious.

Reason being i got the full-race kit but the stage1 non GT kit w/ the baby turbo, i got a really good deal on an sc61 so i sold the disco potatoe and slapped on the sc61 which is the same as the t61 that comes on the Full-race stage 3. I can't produce anymore power because im still returnless and maxed out on fuel.

In response to the power of the ZO6... I am just relaying what the owner said he had (both cars are underrated crank hp wise in the video... not sure if you know about the ZO6 or not but i put down 417whp- so my crank is in the upper 400's- and saying the vette comes with 405hp stock (and doesn't lose much to the wheels) then its safe to say cams, header, exhaust, intake, tune will add an addition 50-70hp easily.

i own a 06 rsx and that was a nice race the full race kit alone is around 5500 correct me if im wrong on that. the z06 cost what about 60000 and the rsx started at 23800? plus a turbo kit with labor under 30000...wow half of the price of the z06 its sad so many people love the vette and i only love the acceleration. yes 206guy they are pretty quick for a "Supercar" but there put together so shitty! you hear creeks as the chassis flex's around corners. but thats a chevy for you. Once again mod for mod only applies to race series that limit that. The statement "no replacement for displacement" holds true for street apps however, in road racing the replacement for displacement is airflow. A well flowing head on a motor with a great powerband wins no matter what car it is. The street which this video demonstrates that the better car wins period. For the sake of comparison most imports brand new price compared to the brand new price of the Z06 is like the Z06 compared to the Porsche turbo. Thus if we are going to make price a point in it every reason you've provided for the Vette outperforming the RSX is applicable to the Turbo outperforming the vette. I don't want to argue about C6Z06 vs. 997 Turbo. But the car's performance is extremely close. Go to fastestlaps(dot)com and compare lap times. Z06 wins on 7/13 tracks and has a higher top speed. 997 turbo wins on 6 tracks (and I'm giving it Nurburgring) and a quicker 1/4 mile. Those two cars could go either way depending on track and driver. Given a choice, I'd take the turbo any day, unless I had to pay for it, of course.

Those numbers are independant tests of the cars' ability. Also known as facts or reality. This is what I want. I want the others to read that you don't care about the facts or reality. You think winning with a stage 3 turbo agianst N/A cars proves something. If Japanese>American like you always say, how come you need a stage 3 turbo?

I told u many times n this will b the last 1 how much is the new zo6? how much is an evo, a rsx a civic si or whatever? if u get an evo IX which is 35gs there is a 35gs difference between the zo6 and the evo IX if u spend that $ on the evo u would have a hell of a car, only losers get zo6 is simple thats y a lot of people put a turbo in their cars stock to stock of course a evo would not win against a zo6 on a drag strip but think about the money,u r really stupid for not understanding this

But this started with you saying the EVO and STi are better track cars than the Z06. That has nothing to do with money. And how many times do I have to tell you there are many cheaper cars than EVOs and STis that could be modded faster than them for less money. It doesn't make the cheaper car better.

OMG you FTW. Seriously I'd never buy any new "tuner" car like the RSX or anything. I drive a Nissan 240sx S13 with a fully built SR20DET with a Full-Race twin scroll GT3076R. With methanol injection I should lay down 500rwhp and the whole was accomplished for under 14 grand, including car. You are 100% right. I'd never pay the exhorbitant price for an EVO, STi or even RSX for that matter.

Thank you, I've been following your comments for some time now and i'm convinced that the Z06 is the way to go. Over the last 4 months i've been debating over which car i should choose; RSX-S, 350z, 300zx. After reading the facts that you've posted and doing my own research, i found that the Z06 is by far the better buy; especially with the Z06 costing 23k-29k. with that said .. Thanks!!!

Thanks. If you just want to buy to use stock, it's dominant. If you want to mod, it's already a performance platform. It's light, RWD, and has displacement that allows it to make big gains either N/A or FI. Plus it has a driveline and tires sizes that will allow you put put the extra power to use. Search for your car nationally. It will be hard to find the one you want locally because there just aren't that many around. Use corvetteforum as a source for good info. Good luck!

YOu should check out sport compact car magazine. It's far from the standard rice rag and they did a comparison between 8 cars to see which is the ultimate street car and one of the cars was a supercharger C5 Z06 owned by stoptech brakes. In the braking test, modded brakes for modded brakes by the way, the STOPTECH owned Z06 was destroyed by the Skyline R34 and Infiniti G35 and I even believe the Audi S4! My point is that stats are relative.

This is still redtop91. Youtube won't let me post more under that name but I have more to say on this debate. Chassis flex is engineering into cars that are not pure track so your kidneys don't fail LOL. To say the the Vette has no chassis flex is inaccurate. It might have less, but there is still chassis flex that is evident.

I agree the Z06 does have some chassis flex. But by production car standards, it is very rigid, not the floppy, rattly car that was suggested. I disagree it is "engineered" in. A pefectly rigid car couls still ride very soft through the tires and suspension.

That's more dependent on the spring rates, and rebound of the suspension than anything. Again, your point is valid in that the Vette and the RSX are engineered to different standards. The RSX is a commuter car. It's just neat that as such if you want, you can make it into a pretty fast car with not a lot of money.

This is a video by a full-race turbo RSX owner who shows himself loosing to a C5Z06 with just a cam and headers. Why would I feel bad about that?
