my 10 year sister was diagnosed with high functioning autism when she was 18 months and she was also as excited as your son when playing the keyboard... My mom has taken that into account and enrolled her in piano lessons when she was 8 and she LOVES it and it's really helped with her motor skills. I think your son will do really well with piano as well. :)
