  • i can that girl all night..no joke

  • Can everyone just STFU and enjoy the music please?

  • wow!! she was so beautiful in every way possible!! RIP

  • This is very different from the version I know, would love for someone to explain what it is if possible!

  • pessah casher vesameakh!

  • Awesome =D

  • Israel still doesn't have color TV even in 1979?? O_O

  • wtf those "zionist" talks... she was just human and amazing singer

  • she was a magnificent singer!

  • @sonya841 She's also dead. And you are a moron.

  • She didn't live that many years after this, did she?

Whatever you think of Israel and Zionism, Ofra Haza was an amazing singer and was lost to us far too young.

  • Mr nightskyfading.Dont say aword against OFRA.She was a beautiful person,singer,

where ever you are from or culture you dont have a singer of Ofras calibre. So get a life .

  • I love her and I know she was a Zionist. She had every right to be whatever she wanted to be. Jews are part of this region and without Zionism as a political movement to unify and mobilize the Jewish masses, Israel would never be a reality. Without this great state, Jews would continue to suffer from discrimination in Yemen, Germany, and other parts of the world. Cheers from Saudi Arabia. someday we will be able to merge and visit each other in peace.

  • @mondher1980 Hey, I love your passion for Israel. thanks for supporting Israel. Erez Israel Chai! God bless you Israel and may God reveals Himself in all His majesty to Israel ppl I pray!

  • nice song, but I don't understand much

  • watch LATMATV channel version

  • blimey I thought she was arab- shows how much I know. I didn't really give a shite either before reading these daft comments- she's great, whatever, though everyone in England thinks she's north african!

  • Hello,

I like this version of Chad Gadya. I wish it was longer. Is this song really 50 seconds long or was it cut short? Usually, other Chad Gadya songs are long. Is this Chad Gadya song on CD?

  • How frolic she looks here; like the freshed ever flower in down; one can nearly feel the scent of her coming out of the screen; and she is no more...

    It is not fair!!

  • Do you realize you are a product of what you've been taught... with no competing ideas, just propaganda. Long, loud, and repititious. The anti-freedom nations are filled with the brainwashed. Dangerous.

  • The people of Palestine is the Sami people ???? =)) LOL This is one of the funniest things i've ever heard. Sami people (also known as Lapps) live in Northern Europe, in Scandinavia. Man, you need some geography lessons. :))

  • Why are you even talking about this on a video with a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Get a life!

  • Comment removed

  • I thought the Sami people are from Scandinavia.

It turns out that racists on youtube know better than the Sami people themselves.

  • @professional302 I think you possess very scanty notions altogether, and very confused as well. Mabruk

  • She is so cute when she sings. What a beautiful spirit!

  • The problem with Arabs and MUslims is that their hatred runs so deep that they can't even let a song be a song without spewing bile. As to meeting in Jerusalem, the city of David, king of the Jews, well, the Israelis allow religious freedom - unlike any arab nation. It would be a vastly better world if the Muslims actually wanted peace. Untill they do, there will be war after war.

  • I just think it's a pity nowadays people can't be Israeli singers without an enormous debate about where their grandmother came from, and who's an arab and who isn't. I think the world has already acknowledged that some Israelis don't like Arabs, so surely there's no need to debate it over the internet where we're supposed to be writing about Ofra Haza. Go and find an Ariel Sharon board to carry this out on.

  • @misolico, "from where she came" does'nt mean she came from Yemen it means just she is of yemenite heritage! You should know this as an Israeli. There is no israeli heritage in our country the people moved in from other countries. We call here the jewish yemenite emigrants "yemenites" and turkish jews as "turks"

The next topic is knewed Ofra in person and she was a very traditional person.

Yes she was an Israeli but she felt Yemenite!

  • Misolico is right - Ofra was Israeli, not Yemenite.

Israelis understand that by "Yemenite" Jews and Israelis mean "a Jew of Yemenite family background". However, the rest of the world does not know that.

Thus, it is better to term her a "Yemenite Jew" or "Yemenite Israeli". Identifying her as solely "Yemenite" encourages those Arabs and anti-Semites who would deny the Jews their Jewish identity and Jewish homeland, by insisting "There is no Jewish people, only Arabs of the Jewish faith".

  • arabs are semites too, get your facts straight

  • yes, but even pretty early on, antisemitism was used to refer to hatred against the Jews, not against the semites.

  • Waleed, why don't you bigoted Arabs f-ck off and leave the Jews (both MIzrahi and Ashkenazi) alone?

  • @WaleedRahman she was mizrachi

  • Une grande dame, j'adore ses chansons, je l'ai découvert par hasard y a 3ans,, et depuis j'arrete pas de l'ecouter meme si je comprends pas hebreu

  • @SHMUJEW!

Ofra had the Israeli citizenship but you should not forget from where she came.

I don't think that Yemen is a european country.

    Ofra looks typical yemenite arab.

I'm jewish but its not a matter of course

    to hate arabs.

  • ofra didnt come from Yemen, her parents did, her jewish zionist family moved to Israel with their jewish culture, not only Ofra has an israeli citizenship but shes also 100% Israeli and Jewish.

  • you are a moron

  • Ghastile, you're foolish, for many reasons.

Ofra's mother's languages are not the question. Ofra was a Jew and an Israeli, and the insistence outside Isael on identifying here as "Yemenite" is just a manner of Arab/Muslim denigration of Jewish identity.

Further, Ofra's parents immigrated to Israel, so they, and Ofra, were certainly Zionists.

Finally, your "ashkenazi" comment is false and disgusting. You're feeding Muslim and other anti-Semites.

  • Stop it! I'm an Israeli with turkish background. Do you think realy I'm an Israeli for a Israeli? I'm a turk! My grands moved from a another land to this country even when 100 years will past we will be still turks, germans, yemenites or whatever and Ofra was and will be ever a yemenite jew! And please stop to attack people who has a different meaning! Ofra sung mostly yemenite songs!

  • gbas

so in your humble opinion there is no Israelis in Israel, I have a friend he was born in palestine/israel in 1941, what does that make him? a palestinian or an israeli, he is a jew

  • her mother knew yemenite since she was born in Yemen, she moved to Israel in 1944, she spoke hebrew perfectly, they had a jewish tradition at home, not a muslim one. Her parents moved to Israel of Zionism in 1944 b4 the state of israel was established, they were zionist period.

  • what the hell, who cares she has a remarkable voice just enjoy it for god sake, enough with this cry he is zionist, she is zionist - go have a life

  • oh yeah she was definitely not a zionist.

now with patriotic songs like "jerusalem of gold" and "chai."

you are a moron. ofra haza is a zionist, a jew, and an israeli.

  • @nightskyfading Never was a Zionist like those from the west bank, don't lie to the people.

  • @nightskyfading anyone who doubts that is a fool ^_^ ✡

  • @misolico they moved to israel because arabs forced all jews out after creation of israel. you write as though her parents had a choice.. yemeni jews were expelled and 'fled' to israel.

  • Sorry, one "d" too many. A D O R A B L E !!!

  • Addorable !

  • she is the best .

  • I love this women!

  • Ofra was great and she still makes me cry when I hear her sing.

  • im soooooooo sad she died :'(

  • Sweet....
