If you want the closest experience to what it was like at footy in the 80's WATCH THIS FILM! OK the clothes are a bit wrong some of the acting's a bit wooden and the dialogue isn't the quote a minute style of the original - but - this is the first film to capture the really important part of football violence - the violence.
It is cinematic genius that will probably never get the recognition it deserves and I can't believe anybody saying otherwise was ever there.
What a load of shit. The original was superb, why Love felt the need to wank all over it is beyond me. Surely he could have done something original. I was 16 in 1984 and grew up in South East London. No one wore tracksuits like that, its ridiculous. All the comments made by others below sums that up perfectly- if you were there you remember the fashion. I get the feeling that Love was nowhere near it.
Likewise i never heard anyone use words like "Don't get Lemon" or "Garms" in the 80s. Pony
Fashion is way out too, adidas obviously but I never remember lads in full tracksuits. If thats mid eighties it was the french stuff - kickers, nafnaf, and Lois cords, suede jackets. For the select few that could afford it that is.
ID caught the terrace vibe alot better.
If Love was 'at it' back then he got a good pair of rose tinted glasses.
nick love is to hung up with the 80's fasion scene if he had ever gone to any football matches in the 80's he would know that not all the top boys were wearing designer gear ,some of them couldnt afford it.we wore jeans leather bombers trackie tops sometimes even paisley shirts never full track suits oh and flight jackets see cass. this is a guy cashing into something he acctually knows fuck all about .ex c crew btw nick shit film original is honest
i agree this is shit . the busisness and football factor are classic british films but this is just shit shit lead actors with no presence .people knock danny dyer but he could of smashed the part of dom if he was a bit younger. paul andersons shit how didnt nick love know that? even with its cheesy unrealistic plot the original is much better even with the shit actin(gary oldmans performance carrys the whole film... nick loves run out of ideas/funny dialouge and decent actors to work with
Nick Love.. The Business was class - this remake is the shittest thing I've seen in ages - cringed all the way through & now the dvd is in the bin! can't beat ID!! why no decent football films since.. Green Street just ok rest absolute shite! just wasted 2 hours of my life watching this badly dialogued hash of a film.. you owe me 2 hours Nick Love you ****!!!

A good film. It must have been very difficult re-making such a well made, well acted (Gary Oldman) original but..... he pulled it off by showing it from Dom's perspective. Im looking forward to The Sweeney next year with Ray Winstone.
yeah, whatever! LOL! I tell ya, these footie hooligans are lightweights, back in the early 80's I was running a gang of Scrabble Thugs, we used to ride our push bikes around the country spelling words correctly and then bashing folk over the bonce with rocks. The media was so scared of us they never reported our savage activities so the footie lot got the glory. I'm not into the rough stuff anymore, I work in East Acton Library and tend to concentrate on Scrabble and rimming in my spare time.
i'm from the states can't find this movie...pls someone upload

@MrLeebo123 Ball Rimini carpenters were the babies, think I paid £70 in '87 for them. More expensive than AJ, Valentino and Ciao etc.
