yes it is. before u play a mp splitscrn game, it lets you assign whatever items you have plugged in to whatever player you want. so u can have 1 keyboard and 1 mouse each for 2 people. i haven't tried this but i am pretty sure that this is true.
I will come and join soon. I have now broadbandadapter. I just wait for ps/2 adapter so you can use a pc mouse to Dreamcast, instead of the shit mouse for Dreamcast.
Q3R was more of a single-player campaign. It lacked online play and from it really wasn't as great as the other two Quake games. The ending boss fight was fun though.
The maps look prettier in some cases, but the framerate is lower than on a good pc and the resolutions can be higher on the pc as well (again with a reasonably current system).
Thankfully the DC maps were released as an addon pack for the PC (so both formats could play together!).
imo dreamcast had more details, better setups, artsy screen displays, and features like third person. All of this make it better than PC and PS2. Very easy to use, its the only game that made it as a Quake III game.

if the Dreamcast was steal alive games like God of War, GT4, Burnout, and some FPS like Half Life, probably would look impresive and even whith better graphics on Dreamcast.
An other exemple of the superior power of the Dreamcast over the ps2 and the PC is that Half Life 2 for Dreamcast, that has been canselled but in some ways it loked Better the the PC versin, whith better textures and character polygons.
Sucks that they stopped Seganet. I loved playing this game with others through the net. I still play Q3 on PC, but Dreamcast in my opinion is the most kick ass system ever.
I have ordered a couple of mouse adapters for my DC. I've been using a pc keyboard on it for ages, but am still stuck with the bog standard DC mouse. I really want to try one of my optical mice (with ps/2 plug) on it! Two players with keys/mice is gonna rock!

The new/modified maps present in the DC version were released for the PC. That's how you could play PC players vs. DC players online, both needed the pack (and PC had to downgrade to the patch version the DC used, and limit the server to 4 total players).
But I agree, the HUD was easier to read in the DC version and the menus and stuff were more user friendly. About the only downside to it now is that you could only have 4 players, no user maps/mods and the framerate/res is fixed (fine for a standard TV though).
Dreamcast was the best console ever, destroyed because Sony markets better. The sad part is, the ps2 was an inferior console. DCs graphics were WAY ahead of its time. It was also the first console to ship with a modem and keyboard/mouse support.
Even the new consoles dont have keyboard mouse support.
When will the moronic developers realize that it's about the games, content and upgradeability and not shiny graphics? :(
Fucking loved this game. Had some of my best gaming days in my life on it. I eventually moved on to the PC version, but it wasn't as fun as it was on the good ol' DC.
you can still play Quake 3 online on you're dreamcast just go google Dreamcast Online and you should find a site for it ^^

Wow, now i know where the map Hidden Fortress came from, that map is in Quake Live :D But it looks like the original map was for the Dreamcast.

I believe the maps for the DC are more fun then the pc. Though the PC runs way smoother that is for sure.

Quake III Revolution is on the PS2, not Quake III Arena. Q3A was on the Dreamcast only, if I'm not mistaken.

The maps look prettier in some cases, but the framerate is lower than on a good pc and the resolutions can be higher on the pc as well (again with a reasonably current system).
Thankfully the DC maps were released as an addon pack for the PC (so both formats could play together!).
