don't mind the ewoks blinking. Y add the whole " Nooo!" Thing. Agree w the guy being interviewed no use at all for this. Just nitpicking and adding extra things. If its not broken dont fix it. I used to think ppl exaggerated but after seeing this clip I agree and think George is a perfectionist. He needs to calm that down a bit. The added CGI jabba scene was also utter crap!!!
@Dangeroso There is only about half a dozen changes in this release. If you would like for me to defend the 'no' scene, then I will. The blinking Ewoks make them look more likelike instead of just actors in fur suits.
@Discern4 Electricity. But do you know what electrocution means? It's almost always misused by the populace. Electrocution means electric shock resulting in death. So if someone's electrocuted, they're dead. Luke isn't dead (technically or otherwise) while he's being shocked, nor does he die later as a result. He wasn't electrocuted. And no, don't even say I'm getting into semantics because, again, electrocution means electric shock resulting in death. I didn't make the word so don't blame me.
@OBIPUGS If Lucas wants to keep making changes to his movies, he can do whatever he wants, but RELEASE A FU$%ING trilogy on bluray that is just remastered the audio and image quality. Give us a choice!!
@A3videos I agree, I'm having 2nd thoughts already on getting it on blu-ray. I hope they do release one w/ just the enhanced audio & visual effects, i'd definitely get that.
@blue83galant Yeah, me too. I wouldn't be surprised if a few years from now (after the release of the 6 films on bluray 3D) he will release them in that way, just remastered. I hope! And A LOT of the people who bought the actual blurays, will buy that also.. so... more money for him...
Theres something else not said here...the emperor obviously didn't think vader would betray him...this is a man who can even read peoples minds...if vader is standing there saying no...the emperor surely would have felt vaders intentions if not even heard them and immediately turned to take out vader too. Huge error on Lucas' part.
This guy is a freaking idiot...Do you think people didn't know what Vader was going to do back in the '70s when he was silent? He was just going to let him die? Rebellion destroyed, sad ending, main character dead, NO you knew he was going to save his son. And now it doesn't matter at all if he says NO because we've seen these movies it's not something new to us we know how it ends so I am completely fine with the change and you guys need to stop bitching like he ruined the whole freaking movie!
@panthersfan1997 This movie is from 1983, not the 70's. And no, people did NOT know what was going to happen, when they watched it for the first time in a darkened theatre. And even with repeated viewings, even when you know what will happen, there is such a thing as "STORYTELLING". But I don't expect a 14 year old to know this. Movies were far less predictable and corporate than they are today, so not everything was completely formulaic, like today's movies. This change makes the scene pedantic
@thedaisystar Ok whatever the case was in the theaters back then do you think it really matters now? People have seen this before we know how it ends we aren't watching some unfamiliar movie nobody is on the edge of their seats like in '83. I like the change it fits except for the first NO the second is perfect and spot on but the first was a lil too much. And I am 14 but if you really knew me you would understand why I talk the way I do I am die hard Star wars and I'll defend my opinions.
........ this isn't real. Someone just took the audio of Vader saying "nooo!" in the 3rd film and put it over the ep 6 video. It's not actually going to be on the bluray like that. Idiots. Watch youtube vid "Update! George Lucas Strikes Back"
Throws him into a mine shaft? wtf? do you know anything about star wars bald man? it's NOT a mine shaft, it's the death star. There are no mines in the death star, it's a shields shaft. He falls into the shield generator area. And the word NO cannot alter a movie...any movie. just STFU and go away please!
@starwarsagent EVERYONE refers to it as a mineshaft, get over it. The point they are making is Lucas is completely destroying star wars all over again. One word CAN and DOES completely ruin this scene. The silence of Vadar is what made that seen so fucking powerful, now it's like a cartoon joke.
@OBIPUGS Actually, he didn't even write or direct Empire or Jedi. Yes, he is the LEGAL copyright holder, and unfortunately can do what he wants. There ought to be new legal limits and expiration dates(after which, goes into public domain) on copyright for this reason alone. Since when is a director never finished with a film?? How many other directors are constantly tinkering with their movies like a bad experiment?? He could have made most of these changes back then. Now fuck off, apologist.
He can't change Star Wars. Even if he is the creator he has no right to change the movies! It's like Leonardo Davinci painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa...
Exactly. The guys hit it on the head. I don't mind the FX changes, I am pissed when they change elements of the narrative.
I'll just say 'Noooo" to the blurays.
I still got my original laserdiscs and the slightly spruced up 2004 SE versions (love the new FX; absolutely hate Greedo shooting first and Anakin's new ghost). I'm done with rebuying SW over and over just to be further disappointed by these meaningless, arbitrary changes....
@OBIPUGS "Remember a director is never finished with a film." Who said that George Lucas? Because last time I checked when I fucking bought a ticket to a movie it didn't say "INCOMPLETE" on it.
@OBIPUGS No, thats just George Lucas's stupid philosophy. Once a movie is finished, in theatres, and then out of theatres, it a) is officially finished and b) the film is not yours its the public's. We paid to make him rich bastard, now leave our favorite movies alone.
@Dangeroso And I would also add that he now have the technologies to make better lightsabers and explosion, but he still didn't do it, exept for some seconds.
I actualy like that Vader say "NO", but a more angry one would be better, like Obi-Wan's "NO" in episode 1.
@Dangeroso He's saying he didn't have the technology for some other changes GL made, which recieve the same amount of hate as this. Think about that next time.
Thats not on the br tell me its not?

Lucas should just put a poll on the website and get opinion from the fans before he makes changes..
Yes he created these movies, they're his stories, his babies, w/e..
But they also..belong to us too..
Its been apart of my parents childhood, my childhood & your childhood..
We have just as much Star Wars in our veins..As he does..
He's the boss of the films..but we're the ones who make him what he is..
Without our support..where would he be?
