  • ash fan all my life this song brings tears to my eyes wish we were all young again hey!

  • This song makes me speechless! Epic!

  • this was the album to be seen with in the street at the time of release

  • great tune great vocal the guitar on 102 gets me everytime growing up in the 70 s there was ash, camel, floyd focus, budgie, man, yes, santana, deep purple, yes, genesis, sabbath etc etc....still some fine music about now..BUT ITS JUST NOT THE SAME

  • Intensément bon!

  • Sometime World passed 2 people by again.

  • One of my first albums bought when I was 15 was 'Wishbone Ash', 2 yrs later Argus (one of the best ever recorded by any band); still listening and loving this 40 years on. Incredible bass line by MT, Andy at his best, just so many chord changes, should last longer than 6.53 mins, could listen to this for hours.

  • @bothrops9 Couldn't agree more

  • 2:38 FUCKING EXPLOSIVE !!!

  • Great song, music,,,bought the Lp in the seventies.

  • My favorite Ash song.

  • singing is great music is great what more can u ask 4

  • Every time someone says "oh sweet zero dislikes that's how it should be!", someone goes and fuckin' dislikes it. So can you remain quiet about the likes/dislikes?

  • ash is so great, i love the guitar and the bass work

  • Nice!!!

  • masters of rock n roll!

  • Saw them twice in the early 70's at the Kelvin hall, Glasgow - immense! - and Argus wrecked my student bedsit on many an occassion with overly partying to the music! Those were the days, my friend!

  • all my teenage years was my favourite. nothing has changed. still the best rock guitar ever. now in my 50's!

  • Wishbone Ash is a class act and will always be known by the 70's underground. Blowin free like a cornfeild

  • @raptorspence There was nothing underground with Wishbone Ash. You must have been under age!

  • Nothing better than a warm summers day, driving in the car with the roof down and this belting out. Pump it up, pump it up, solid rock at its best.

  • @MrJimmygrease Yes so it is,greetings from Sweden.

  • The Best...!!

  • Nearly 100,000 views and zero dislikes - that's the way all WA videos should be!

  • What a beautiful era in Music and people relationship ...

  • The best combination of soaring lead guitar and inspired bass playing you will ever hear - absolutely classic Ash

  • The harmonies of 1:36 always gave me goosebumps. Solid band during the early years.

  • i love this old music, nice - Indonesia

  • Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa good song for a long time I've not nice muisc like this your music sound like in 60's 70's I love this kind music . Thanks my freind very nice . Mike ( Let me know when you'll have a cd ?? )

  • Excellent song by an excellent band, we would love your opinion of our version on our page, any feedback would be awesome, KEEP ON ROCKING!

  • The soundtrack of my earliest years. I'm so glad that my dad is a fan...no wonder I play guitar! This is one of the most important rock guitar albums in history...not to leave out the brilliant bass, drums and vocals. ;-) It doesn't get much better.

  • Andy Powell at his virtuoso best, glad I was lucky enough to see them live so many times back in the 70's. Martin Turners bass is as good as it gets.

  • Argus is a true masterpiece of rock history

  • Classic album; from that era it ranks alongside Pink Floyd's 'Dark side of the Moon'. It is that good. Not a bad track on the album.

  • Have to agree, the best song and album they have done, although I do like Phoenix off the "Live Dates." album.

First seen them way back in 1975, at the Capital in Cardiff.

  • I listened like a thousand bands but this guys are just incredible. The World of the music still got amazing things waiting me...

  • one of the best live bands you could hope to see

  • Argus was voted LP of the Year in a Melody Maker poll (73 or 74), considerable achievement considering how many good bands were about at the time. Great songs, twin lead down to to perfection, Martin Turner could play bass too - really underrated. Glad I was buying albums when they were at their peak

  • This might have been the first album I bought, sounds just as good today. Timeless stuff. Thanks for posting! Oz

  • bad ass album always has been a favorite always will be thats the music we were raised on in the mountains of west -by-god-virginia in the late 60 & 70'S

  • i havent heard this song for years, i remember trying to play the first solo as a kid and eventually nailed it. took me a few good years before i learned the 2nd though. Love the ash, great band and great players. If you into your guitar playing though check out a guy called BUCKETHEAD he will blow you away, and could probobly play this upside down. no disrespect to ash though. amazing tune, especially love driving to it.

  • Great bass-playing!

  • @SpanishBass1 totally!!!

  • I suspect that most guitarists would chew off their own hands to play this but it is the bass that makes it for me. Check it out without the lead after the initial verses. This is, quite simply, the best bass solo I know and I am an old man and have been round the scene for a long while. I remember tis in the 70's and it is as good now as it was then. I suspect this is never going to go away, I hope not.

  • The only thing wrong with this song is that it fades out! should have soared to a gut wrenching climax. I heard this album when I was about 15 and I'm 51 now and the guitar work still gets me every time. Great album.

  • Amazing album that few have heard of, the British 2112!!!!!

  • qu'est ce que c'est beau ! Wishbone Ash for ever ....

  • I love all the people in here just for haven't ruined this page with a "dislike" click.

  • I bought this album the other day and it was totally worth it

  • Just getting into Argus for the first time (knew about Wishbone Ash for years, never actually listened to an album of theirs), I like this one best. There's a Stairway To Heaven thing going on here... which came first? And I was surprised to see that Hipgnosis did the cover.

  • Without a doubt one of the greatest rock albums nobody ever heard of. I have the vinyl album I bought when it first came out and my wife and I will break it out once in a while.

  • if you havent heard this album you havent heard anything

  • i like the bass.

  • bad ass, need eye say more .this old man likes this and always have ,it is still one of the best tune s ,and it will take some bad ass group to even come close .

  • rock can be as good as the vinyl that it was put on. kinda nice, that the good old days have something substantially different to present their music on, and the memories from the covers, then and now.. this music is a great reminder of the quieter sound of the old school stuff. not sure where it went to. but its still right here..intact! love how this switches into a more intense, faster ending. cool, thanks

  • This song inspired me to play the bass, back in 72. And I still can't play that incredible bassline like Martin Turner does.

  • @theglobaltiger agreed.

  • @theglobaltiger agreed. and imagine singing and playing it.

  • Life would be completely meaningless without Art like this!

  • mes dames excusez moi mème a 60 ans je bande en ecoutant le wisbone ash

et en plus mes cheveux repousses

  • Takes me back................this track helped heal me from a bad time.

God bless the Ash..............and Martin Turners bassline!

  • By far..... the best guitar solo (fade out) in any song ever...Fact..... Period. The end...Goodbye

  • @Vevey2004 I agree, but the guitar solo fade out on Throw Down The Sword is very close.

  • @Vevey2004 Supper's Ready, Genesis. Best "album fade out" of all time.

There's an angel standing in the sun, and he's crying with a loud voice,

"This is the supper of the mighty One",

    The Lord of Lords,

    King of Kings,

Has returned to lead His children home,

To take them to the new Jerusalem!

  • @SonicTheEggNog that gives me goose bumps every time...especially steve hackett's guitars over phil collin's drums...i always said they must have laid down their instruments after recording that and thought, 'fuck...what have we just done...that was life changing'

  • @Vevey2004 I dont think the thumbs up gizmo works on mine so, 'thumbs up'!

Used to see this band at the Roundhouse, lucky me.

  • @Vevey2004 I'd have to say Mick Taylor on the song "Sway" from Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers.

  • I love Wishbone Ash. I love that song!

  • wow...haven't heard this song in more than 35 years! still as powerful as before!

  • beautiful song :)))

  • Breaks my heart and heals it simultaneously.--wow, thank you Shizuku Seiji. I cannot say it better soi I won;t try.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful album. The very definition of Rockin’ !

  • Man, the harmony at 1:35 always blew me away.

  • thats real music :o) A+

  • Candymintz..... I agree. One of the best guitar bands of all times.

  • Possibly my favourite bassline ever. Come to think of it, possibly my favourite album ever.

  • I think this is my favorite Wishbone song of all. It has everything they are great at in it...great guitar work (obviously!!!), fantastic drums, and the vocals speak to me! Great song!!!

  • Now THIS is a jam. The bass and guitar are epic. The entire album is amazing.

  • maybe the best song ever!!!

  • Brings back the days of my youth!

  • YouTube is the greatest medium since Gutenberg!

  • so this junk(youtube) has and some quality

  • this is the moment when bassists come and do all the job. without the bass, this track would be gr8. with it, it's epic.

  • Sublime! Like the whole album, but maybe this is the song that put the cherry on the cake...well, this one and Blowin' Free of course

  • One saw them performing in an underground nuclear shelter in Norway. Great sound. Great band.

  • Still OK song

  • this is music at it best ways ! i'm a big fan of wishbone ash and i will always be .

  • I met a man who felt the same way, That the world had passed him by. Told to me all his troubles, That the world had made him cry. Life had kept him waiting, Regretting his pain inside. Had to feel underrated, And hated, besides. Life had kept him waiting, Regretting his shame inside. Had to feel underrated, And hated, besides. Sometime world, pass me by again, Carry you, carry me, away.

  • Vas Dis? Da bestest!! Pure Emotion: broadcast far and wide into Deep Cyberspace!

  • Andy Powell = Guitar God

  • How good can rock guitar be? How good can it be? It can be this good. It can be *this* good. This is beautiful, one of my top favourite tracks of all time - it breaks my heart and heals it simultaneously. All young hopeful rock guitarists should listen to this and go away inspired to make sounds that affect me in the way this does. Thank you Wishbone Ash, one of the emotional pinnacles of modern music - you can play this at my funeral.

  • @ShizukuSeiji - Nice post: sums up my feelings (and I bet many others) about this exactly.

  • @ShizukuSeiji Just tge perfect words for the perfect music! Everything in this music is fabulous, and I mean everything: guitars, bass, drums, vocals, melody, harmony...

  • @ShizukuSeiji A great description of a truly great song and band. Loved wishbone from day 1 over 35 years

ago. Their music will live forever. Hope others can come to realize what real music with such heart and emotion

and talent. I could go on and on . Thanks fellow WA lover. KM!

  • @ShizukuSeiji "[this song] breaks my heart and heals it simultaneously" ????? seriously? are you trolling?

  • @ShizukuSeiji As a fellow guitarist and recent Wishbone Ash discoverer (thanks to an awesome SHM-SACD), your paragraphed perfectly describes the lasting impression of this song. Break my heart and heal it, all in the span of 7 glorious minutes. (Funny, it feels more like 2 minutes)

This song is 40 years old and sounds like it was composed yesterday..... and you will never hear it on the radio....

  • @ShizukuSeiji " it breaks my heart and heals it simultaneously" - my thoughts into words!

  • Sounds so beautifully...

    It totally healed my ears.

  • Worlds most brilliant song.Nuff said :)

  • no comments at all about Wishbone Ash, Argus, this song's melody, the bassline, the solos or anything...just 5:24 - 5:35 (5:28)

  • parece Deep Purple!!!!

    sail away

  • Best Ash song ever! Love it.

  • I first heard this on Alan Freeman's Saturday afternoon show on Radio 1 in the summer of 1973. Blown away then (at the age of 14) and I'm still a fan today. Looking forward to seeing Martin and Ted Turner at the High Voltage Festival in a couple of weeks - performing all of Argus. The Laurie era is still the best for me and it's a pity about the falling out between the principal members since, but hey, you can listen to the great music anytime.

  • that second lead passage still kicks my ass!!!
