The Essex Mountain Sanatorium was destroyed many years ago. The Overbrook/Essex County Hospital complex in Cedar Grove (which I am sickeningly obsessed with) still stands, but not for much longer. Been there 3 times in the past few weeks, going back again soon. Be sure to check it out before it's all razed for parkland in the coming year.

i worked on ward 15 for several years during the mid 80s to early 90s. i have many many stories from this place. sure is a blast from the past for me.
i went in there yesterday wit 7 of my friends behind the building where the video starts near the reservation theres paper all over the floor and writing on the wall broken glass its crazy
i was there just over the weekend, and we were in building 11 most of the time. We didnt try the door to the morgue, but we walked across the way to the tailor shop and there is a tunnel right around the corner in that building. My friend and I got caught by a cop but he just told us to leave.
i live about 1/2 a mile away from here and i come here with my friends sometimes, this is the kind of place where you sh*t your pants even if you go inside during the day, and you see some really f*cked up stuff there omg and i remember this one door me and my friends never went in cuz it smelled like there was a corpse behind it
Go some where i havent been damn.. mad little kids go in there. im 20 and have been in there over 100 times. find out a way to get in the real tunnles not that lame ass building to building ish. i know a guy who works at that place and you cant be in the real tunnles for more than 30mins cuz of all the fungis and stuff that grows down there now. find a way and film that. it starts at building 11 the door is sometimes open.
man i just went there today. there was a drug bust right outside the building we were in and the police thought me and my friends were also involved. after the police realized we were just trespassing, we all got disordely persons summons... poop... and i really wanted to find the tunnels
I live 2 blocks from there. I will NEVER, EVER go by there again. That place is f'd up ! You go there to check it out and you can actually feel the ghosts rudding up against you. Be smart.. STAY AWAY FROM THERE !!!
I loved your video of Overbrook - I have always wanted to go in and check it out. Did you start out at the Nurses building and go thru tunnels to the building next door?? Also, are you going on another trip, I would love go and I would love to see the main building and I keep asking people that work there if they could get me in, but I haven't had any luck. I am always looking in the windows, where a child/daycare area was
