  • im going to go with a lowside over a highside. looks to be more the rear tire kicking out and sending both to the pavement

  • time spent riding on dirt saves your ass on the street

  • Incredible save! If I had this guy's skill, I wouldn't be afraid to ride. AWESOME!!!

  • So who says you have to ride dirt to save a highside? Any idiot who rides should know to let off the throttle. If your dumb enough to keep the gas pinned while your bike is sliding you shouldn't ride........

  • @adrenalineboyzryan chopping the throttle during a rear end slide is only going to make you highside even faster... just point the front wheel in the direction you wanna go and use body position to even it out. Any idiot who rides does chop the throttle, and then is on the ground.

  • @rkfaithfulblade Who said anything about "chopping the throttle"? I said to let out of the throttle.

  • shows why every good street-rider needs dirtbike experience

  • he wasnt leaning off the bike on that turn

  • So how do you recover from something like that, I know experience comes to play, but I'd love to know since I'm a new street bike rider.

  • Damn....that makes me tense up just watching that....great save

  • Bias-ply tires are so 1980s.

  • you stopped filming it...

  • niiiiiice save..

  • i bet his pucker valve was going o O o O o O o O o O o O o O o O o O o

  • lucky bastard...

  • Best way to save these are by staying loose and stand up to raise centre of gravity. He done both and saved.

  • im willing to bet money that he rides dirtbikes to.

  • @13RuffRyder

    Correct my friend..... good observation!

  • @djltoronto When a rider gets into that situation what corrective action can he take to avoid a crash?

  • @3DFLYLOW Exactly what this rider did, stop giving it throttle.

As was observed earlier, he rides dirt. Any dirt rider worth his while has done this many many MANY times, and knows, almost instinctively, how to save it.

  • Oh I bet he was clenched!!

    Nice save though..

  • he probably shit his pants

  • Amazing

  • u lucky son ov ,ha,ha,

  • High side? No. How about power slide, yes.

  • Tell the cameraman to keep the camera on the ACTION ! ! ! !

  • que kit de unhas fantástico!

  • I hate it when you get to the good part of the video and then it's all ground and feet.

  • @PsychoDaveFilms I think because the cameramans life flashed before his eyes.

  • That guy is a hero! Offer him a contract in the motoGP.

ahh, maybe he was just lucky...

  • actually, cold tires in combo with poor throttle control got you in, but cold tires likely helped you out of it as well. new guy move & lucky out.

  • killer pants man

  • yeah, nice save

  • cameraman shit himself

  • bet he couldnt save his underwear

  • good save or lucky? either way glad you stayed up.

  • wow good escape

  • that was close!

  • Brilliant lesson, stand on the pegs and your knees cushion the kick back when the tyre grips, fucking hard to get there quick but it certainly works well or were you kicked up?

  • nice save , but i am wondering how much the dry cleaning bill came to ?

  • Whew

  • Better throw those underwear away.

  • Full throttle in middle of corner...what could possibly go wrong?

  • The throttle sounded fairly smooth until the tire broke loose, I would blame too much lean angle for the amount of throttle due to bad body positioning, and pure luck to not highside.

  • 5p 50p!!!!

  • Camera man: "Oh poop..."

  • Holy shit! What a save!! You can seriously control that bike. Must have crazy reflexes

  • Lex5151, can you rephrase the question?

  • What I don't get is important. Did he steer it or let it go?

  • I think the camera man pooped a little.

  • Awesome save! Iv got the same bike, had plenty of moments like that where my arse is twitching like a rabbits nose! My advice? Michelin power pure, because anything less is toast in 1000 miles and shit in the wet

  • How does one save outta a highside situation? Looks like you stood up. Is that how? I'm about to start riding for the first time in my life ever and I wanna pack my brain with as much knowledge as possible. Thanks!

  • Great save---weight over the tank and pushing on footpegs---nicely done

  • Mas q "camera man" ruinzinho... não pegou a recuperação...

  • i bet you pooped alittle ,nice save

  • Must have been a Shinko Rear TIRE!!!!

  • What kind of bike is this and what kind of exhaust.?

  • @str8jacket3044

    '96 GSX-R750 (SRAD). Exhaust is a Carbon Fiber D&D.

  • @str8jacket3044 Its a Royal Enfield exhaust unknown

  • it looked like he was getting ready to bail off the bike.

  • very good save

  • Ah, camera is here, I gonna throttle it like a boss out of this corner!

  • @Indy7272

LOL - that's about it! ha ha

  • @Indy7272 wasted effort, the camera guy was more interested in his shoes, or was it the gravel that was the focal point there? hmm...

  • nice recovery buddy, glad you're ok

  • fuck the camera man

  • wow, throttle much?

  • Ya but what if he didn't save it and went into a bike going the other way. I've seen it too many times at deals. I'm all for riding, I do a lot myself, but I do it safely. Something like that can kill you on the street but simply rash some leather on the track. Tracks are far more fun and safer than street riding anyway.

BTW, I was constructive. It said throttle control was the cause of that slip. He was on the gas too early and not smooth enough.

  • nice safe!

  • Nice ;)

  • Poor throttle control FTL!

BTW, take that sh_t to the track. If you live in Toronto you have 3-4 great tracks around. What happens if you highside into oncoming traffic?

  • @bcbudz

Troll. He's in full gear. He wasn't driving recklessly. He made a nice save of a bad situation. Is, "take it to the track" what you tell everyone that has a near miss??? Undoubtedly track days will make betters riders out of all of us. How about being constructive instead?

  • @bcbudz What if your at the track and some one lowsides into you trying to pass on the inside?? Also what about the time I crashed due to poor road surface that could not be seen at night?? Crashs happen. To tell people not to push it a little on the road is is like telling some one not to buy a home stereo because it might send them deaf... Stupid advice.

  • @MalliganTheUFO The difference is, on the track you accept that as a possibility, everyone is a willing participant, on the street others are not willing participants.

A highside is completely preventable, hitting a poor road surface at night is not.

People can push it on the road all they want, that's fine, but if they crash they shouldn't blame it on anything other than their own skills or lack their of and take full responsibility.

  • @bcbudz A highside is not completely avoidable. Poor road surface at night mid corner can cause this, therefore its only preventable by not riding a bike im affraid.

I do agree that if people want to push it they need to accept the responsibility though. But thats not the point here.

  • u r a very luky or very good driver haha nice vid

  • Try cornering in a higher gear so it is less likely you will spin the tire exiting the corner. Being in a low gear screaming out of the corner sounds cool and all, but you are more likely to end up high siding it.

  • nice camera wrk....not but good save

  • I'm glad he saved it not just cause I care for him and the bike...but because the camera guy wouldn't have gotten in on film.

  • great saving dude ;)

  • nice drift!

  • when in doubt throttle out....

  • @Quagmire88 When in doubt, Flat out....

  • bet he pulled off bummed a smoke if he didn't have any and just sat down after that one. lol

  • bet that camera guy has shit runnin down his leg now

  • or, maybe just go on a track day and not ride like a twat on public roads? people are always quick to suggest oil or something on the road, maybe it's just a case of riding outside your limits?

  • @dcphotocore No people are quick to suggest..hes a noob or a squid or he gets what he deserves....accidents happen nobodys perfect!!

  • He didn't really hammer on the throttle, you can hear him maintain and then gradually increase throttle coming out of the corner. It was definitely the tires.

  • Yeah attacking the throttle with a bit to much enthusiasm. Been there, done that, saved it too.... Nice save, nevertheless!

Did you have bruises on the inside of your legs. from catching it, too? I did LOL

  • What bike is it?... couldn't quite make it out there's not a sharp frame there.. Is it a '95 fireblade by any chance??

  • Comment removed

  • @cbr900RR1977 K, it's a gixxer.... What year??

  • @cbr900RR1977

1996... still going. 108,000kms and counting

  • did you heqat the tires for adleast 10miles? i don't think so...and maybe it was something on the road, like oil...god knows...

  • He would have hammerd the camera man...lol...

  • Dude...you blasted the throttle...what do you expect? It wasn't the tires that caused the near-highside. Buy Supercorsa's or 211 GP's if you're going to gun the throttle on exit.

  • huhuhu, got way out of shape there, good save :o)

  • Couldn't have ran a needle in his ass with a sledgehammer!!! lol

  • yeah... deffinately get bridgstone battleaxes bt016 or if you run alot harder the 003s

  • Shudnt do that on public roads shud of fell off tbh

  • very nice save their...hope u no to hang off the bike more if u wanna be gassin it up while leant over...lets the bike stand up more, and have more rubber on the road.

  • i think i just pooped a little bit

  • not sure you can blame that on the tires sounded like you got on it to much to early but nice recovery I would of needed a beer after that one

  • @RuBerSideDwn A beer and a change of underwear perhaps

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sheeeettt! I clinched just watching the thing. Nice save. Are the tires new or old? I guess those sport bikes are lite in the rear. wow. I'm going to watch it again.

  • lol!! better check for a split in that seat wear your ass clinched! nice save!
