  • This plainchant setting of the Angelus has a beauty and purity that quiets the heart and lifts it to the contemplation of that extraordinary truth: "...for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life..."

Sisters, this was so beautifully and prayerfully sung. Thank you.

  • IN EXCELSIS ORATIO. GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DIO.

  • How ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Here is a classic example of not understanding "new age" thinkers who promote "meditation of ones self"...The Angelus is such an ancient prayer and devotion to meditate on Christ our Savior through our Blessed Mother.

  • This realy had help me...

  • What beautiful voices raised in praise of Our Lady. Such reverence and respect is unusual and welcomed in today's world.

  • thank you for always protecting us, guardian angels...

  • i love u HOLY MOTHER

  • Pax Domini Sit Semper Vobiscum

  • comme c'est beau cela me donne envie de me recueillir

    Lucienne

  • Love and Light

  • why do a lot of people talk about their faith when listening to this music , there's no need for it at all ..

  • @Sheynism why do people reject faith of others? there's no need for it at all.

  • @wowwhatwasthatfor The need for rejecting false faiths is found in the first commandment "Thou shalt have no strange gods before Me"

    Pax Domini Sit Semper Vobiscum

  • @SITSEMPER1 exactly. and all the criticism Catholics get for not accepting other 'religions' while the world does and calling us discriminatory for that reason - it's just illogical if they were to actually look at what we stand for!

  • @lolee777 that may be true but the accomplishment their intention

is great. its from those holy sisters that my entire latin prayerlife

started. and that from the usa! not from europe. those sisters are

living on an island near New York. God's way are incomprehensible

yet miraculous. if w ein germany or switzerland or austria had only

1/1000 of such holy nuns we would be in heaven.

Deus benedicat vos omnes sanctae sorores

  • Beautiful but man that English accent on Latin is horrible!!

  • @stripedwally So do I! Thank God I am catholic and was born catholic too.

  • Ohhh my God... Tis all right but the pronunciation and the accent...

  • MIS RESPETOS MI HERMANO

    GRACIAS MI RAFA

  • Peace and Good!

  • Ora pro nobis (peccatoribus ?) Sancta Dei Genetrix

Teraz i w godzinę śmierci naszej.

Módl się za nami Święta Boża Rodzicielko !

  • Thanks so much for posting.I know I can come here at 12.00 when I'm at home to pray the angelus. I'm also very proud to be a catholic christian.

  • I love my Catholic Faith......

  • beautiful!

    AVE MARIA!

  • Everything if perfect, excepet the English Accent, is offensive in my humble opinion.. I was born in Italy and this is the 1st time that I hear Ave Maria with that accent, latin doesn´t have an accent.

  • @MegaKrishan DONT LET THE FAITH SLIP I'll be praying for you man! Its a shame that The Church stoped using Latin in the Masses because peps did not have the time and did NOT want to learn it! Paxti Domini Christi (Latin) Peace be with you in Christ.

  • @lippertism There are true Latin masses out there, The Novus Ordo is evil stay away from it to save your soul!!

  • @MegaKrishan DONT LET THE FAITH SLIP I'll be praying for you man! Its a shame that The Church stoped using Latin in the Masses because peps did not have the time and did NOT want to learn it!

  • beautiful voices but...in my humble opinion, the American accent is just way too pronounced and over the top...in Gregorian Chant it must be a prerequisite to learn to pronounce the Latin properly otherwise the accent is a real hindrance and distraction from the beauty of the Chant.

  • @carlayvonnereynolds I still love it with the English accent. When you pray with all your heart, you don't even realise the accent.

  • IN EXCELSIS ORATIO. GREGORIANI CANTUS AMORIS I. GRATIA CARMINIS HUIS. ARCANA CALESTIA, ANGELUS.

  • Abençoadas as vozes que nos trazem esse momento de céu e aquele que aqui postou e compartilha conosco essa benção!

  • Don't wait, lippertism, convert now. God bless you.

  • I feel like I stepped into Rivendell for 3 minutes... wow.

And to they who say that the scriptures aren't what they used to be because they're recited in English during the mass, I beg to disagree. The scripture will always be scripture. It is how we perceive it that counts.

  • I feel like I stepped into Rivendell for 3 minutes... wow.

And to they who say that the scriptures aren't what they used to be because they're recited in English during the mass, I beg to disagree. The scripture will always be scripture. It is how we perceive it that counts.

  • I am so used to the Angelus being recited in English that I forgot its beauty.

  • @ lippertism --- may Mary, the Mother of Jesus, Son of the Eternally living God, pray for your conversion and entrance into the kingdom of God

  • Does anyone else feel like we are missing so much nowadays : /

  • @616MGT I'm assuming you say something is missing because you take part in the heretical modern day "mass"? It's an empty deceptive evil isn't it?

  • @JamesFrancis1000 LOL! You assume correct. Was once a SSPX type, but they packed their bags & left town : /

  • It is realy a blessing to listen tu such music how can we remain the same after listening to this..thank you heavenly Father for touching my heart may it be so for many more; amen

  • Such a blessing to listen to such devotion. Glory to God! May hearts be touched for the love of Christ.

  • I was raised Roman Catholic schools from 1953 to 1965 and remember many of these song in Mass every morning before classes. I thank GOD and my parents for raising e and my brothers and sisters in a HOLY CATHOLIC Atmosphere of FAITH!!!!!

  • @Micelli1947 Same here, I was raised pretty much the same way and man am I glad-grew up in Harlem NY, and became a monk when I was 26, and 38 years later, in a new community, in a new Catholic Church, but still a monk.

  • @Micelli1947 Ahh the good old days of the true faith in Catholic Churches everywhere! Sad about what happened since then...

  • Pls.. does anyone here knows where I could download it's MP3 for free? Please, please...

  • @pameluhv Its the daughters of Mary and they're apart of the SSPV.

  • I wanted to please Mama Mary by chanting this for Angelus. Happy Birthday Mama Mary. (09-08-11). :)

  • Thank God i am a Catholic.

  • CL :)

  • Sancta Virgo virginum, ad caelos elevata, ora pro nobis peccatoribus !

    AMEN.

  • This is clearly fake

  • @wemakeplans how?

  • there's a lot of paganism that came up in roman catholicism.we must do away with it.the jewish character of catholic religion remains unchanged. its im-

portant when praying to assume a habit of qorbanot (sacrifical mood) in

in order that our prayers by word of mouth may be accepted by the Creator.

But even more precious will seem to me the silent prayer with the individual

soul communicating with the good of trinity G''d Father, G''d Son and G''d

ruah ha qodesh (Holy Spirit). G''d wants us.

  • @DrPunjabi Vatican II is anything but Catholic. The Assisi fiascoes are proof. Stay away from the Novus Ordo!!

  • snorrreeeefesttttttt ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....

  • not bad but i prefer Jay Z - i got 99 problems but a bitch aint one

  • @alanbaz90 Do not speak ill towards the church.

  • Yes, Mary is blessed among women (from the Gospel of Luke). But she is not our Saviour: Christ is. You do not need to pray to Mary; we have access to the Father through the sacrifice of the Son. And there is no co-redemptrix. The only way to the Father is through Christ. Mary is not a mediator.

  • @nathanielscarlethawe

if it helps Catholics to get closer to God/Jesus, is there any problem?

  • @nathanielscarlethawe You are sooooooooo mistaken. It was through Mary that Christ came to us and it is through Mary that we must go to Christ. Christ gave more glory to God the Father by submission to Mary during His hidden life of 30 years that He would have give by converting the whole world by the most miracles... We glorify God, When to please Him, we submit ourselves to Mary after the example of Jesus! (StLDM) She is so powerful with God and full of grace! Ave Maria!

  • @wowwhatwasthatfor 33 years :)

  • kalaverapastillera that is wicked funny

  • @1978thagreat You're forgetting the fact that Mary is the one who perhaps in the greatest sense "heard the Word of God" from the angel Gabriel, and assented to it and "kept it" by saying "be it done unto me according to thy word." She's the great example of exactly what Jesus praises there. And for the record, it's not worship. It's reverence. Exactly as the Ark of the Covenant was referenced in Israel.

  • Lovely!

  • Most Precious Blood of Jesus, save us and the whole world through our Most Loving Mother Mary. Thank you for posting this very beautiful video. Please pray for my daily conversion. Thank you.

In my nothingness lower than the dust under the feet of all people.

  • I love this prayer. I remember it from my childhood at Catholic School. This is so beautiful.

  • An extraordinarily inspired songstress leads this ensemble. The sweetness and transmission of pure faith in reverent song regardless of the understanding of words to many, including me. Thanks. Very excellent work and let the fountain pour out it's new waters upon all who hear,

  • Hi, latin purists, I confesst I also dont like the italian-like

pronounciation id like it more the ciceronian way. i.e c= k

ce, ci = kay, key, ge, gi= gay, guee. not sticking to the original

ciceronian pronounciation italianlike to facilitate it to the people.

i once heard the finest latin is spoken in irish monasteries,

with the old correct pronunciation kay, key.with latin being a sign

of resistance against the english, the irish chose to rather have

the mass in Latin than in English !

  • OH! Nice voice, but what a TERRIBLE English accent!!! The only worse accent to speak Latin with is French... Sorry.

  • @Mazarbul Who claims to have the proper Latin accent? it may not even exist, because they spoke Latin through out the empire and each region had its own accent. What you saying is just as absurd as claiming that the correct English accent is nowadays' of South Hampton, London, and all others are not worthy.

Latin est NOSTRUM matris lingua, non tantum mei!

  • @kulac Please don't be silly. Whatever accent they may have spoken at the time, it certainly was not American. Of course there were local accents, that evolved simultaneously druing the midde ages, such as the French, German, Polish or English. But the classical Latin, form the Empire, as you said, was preserved in monasteries, and was different from the vulgar version. Anyhow, had you read my post with more understanding, you would have noticed I wasn't saying they are using the right or wrong

  • accent, but that it "sounds terribly" (where in my post can you see the word "correct" or any other word the meaning of which would question or confirm the "correctness" of used accent?), which is a subjective impression, and I wrote that to share my feelings on it. After all, even the terrible things can still be right, can't they? Are you willing to discuss with the undiscussable; because if so - then, if you only think logically - you should already know that it's a lost cause.

  • Obviously my impression was built on a reference point, that is classical Latin, and this one - we more or less do know, how sounded like (the accentation of words in poetry, for instance, that is not similar to the one found in the English language). But that is insignifficant. The question is what are you defending exactly, and what provoked you; because if the answer is my "impression", then you've already lost. kthxbye

  • @Mazarbul I thought I was the one who knew little about the matter, but we are together on the same boat.

What are you saying about Americans? accents differ inside England!

This pronunciation of Latin by the Church is very early, when Latin was almost not used by the common people, so this is not the Liturgical Latin pronunciation.

You used the word "worse" and this can only be used when you compare things, therefore my question, what are you comparing English, French, etc. accents to?

  • @kulac It seems to me you're not paying attention. If you also can't read between the lines I can only be sorry for you, that you need everything to be made as clear as for a 3 year old. I think I made my point clear enough last time. Please take a while to study it before you'll waste my time again.

  • @kulac One more thing: Had you EVER studied Latin, you would've known what are the rules of pronounciation for classical Latin, and my reference point. If you're trying to defend the thesis that this is how the Romans spoke, you're making a dimwit of yourself.

  • @Mazarbul when you write to me you use "if" a lot. Am I not straight enough? I completely understand what you are trying to say, but instead of refuting what I have written, you come with phrases like "you need everything to be made as clear as for a 3 year old". Quoting Dr. Feynman, if you cannot explain something in a simple way so non experts can understand it, you have not really understood it yourself. But you are right, do not waste your time with me, use it to study more.

  • @kulac You dare quoting Feynman?! You dare calling yourself an expert?! phew... How come 95% of performers can use a standarized version of Latin pronounciation, while the other 5% cannot? The nuns siniging here belong to the 5% who cannot Why? - ask me not. You fallaciously refer to English accents. English is a language presently used worldwide, playing the nowadays' role of lingua franca. You wouldn't say someone using English with a German accent is speaking it 100% correctly, would you?

  • Since Latin is a dead language, we ought to at least attempt to pronounce it in the way as it was pronounced originally. And the performance above, wadr, definitely does not come even close to the original pronounciation. Pity you cannot acknowledge it.

  • @Mazarbul Where did you get this 95%? What you call standardized Latin is Vatican's today, which is different from the one I have heard in Bavaria, Aosta region and from the one I hear from the Jesuits in Spain. They are experts and yet do not speak/sing with the same Latin accent. Your comparison with German and English is not adequate as Germans are not native English speakers, differently from all people that were Romans, through out the Empire, and spoke Latin with their own accent.

  • @kulac Afaimc - dead languages do not evolve. Changes done to them are a consequence of ignorance and inability to pronounce correctly by present-day speakers. What you are implying is that there is no, and there never was, a proper way of pronouncing Latin. A regionalised version of a language is not the standardised version. Children abroad are not taught speaking English with a Scottish accent, but something that is considered "standard". Is Americanised Latin even worth this discussion?

  • I like this video!

  • I love it

  • thank you

  • Thank you

  • Judgment is near. All pagans will go to hell!

  • hmm..this is very nice..but i never see any of this in the catholic churches here in India..

  • @02kazak The Angelus which is the Hail Mary prayer and associated biblical readings, 3 times at dusk, started in the 12th century. Around the 16th century the Angelus was said 3 times daily at 6am, noon and 6 pm. If you tune in to Vatican Radio you can hear it every day at those times. Have a good day.

  • @137Coolhandluke

    well..radio yes..but y not in churches?

  • @02kazak It is in churches. I'm trying to guide you to where else you can see and hear. EWTN also does this every day on television if you have it. Your priest probably does the little office every day too.as well as pause at 3pm in remembrance of the lords final minute. The church is alive, you just have to look.

  • @137Coolhandluke

Hmm..thnx for the info. I am not catholic, but Syrian Orthodox. But we do have a lot of Catholic churches nearby:)

  • Mother Mary

    Mother of God

    Mother of all men

    My loving Mother

    Make my heart

    Like your heart.

    Amen.

  • Thank you my Heavenly mother. Pope John Paul 2's devtion to you has made me a strong catholic.

  • Thank You Virgin Mary. I love You.

Thanks for all Your help and Your prayers.

Virgin Mary , Queen of the angels, pray for us.

Virgin Mary, Queen of health , pray for us.

Virgin Mary, Queen of peace, pray for us.

  • I am a SINNER i'm spechless, i will most sure convert over the Roman Catholic AS SOON as i'm 18, i am curently 15.

  • @lippertism Why not now before you lose the desire (in case that is even possible)? It's a longer time than it seems.

  • @lippertism I'm 15 and I just converted to the Catholic Church, you don't have to wait, your never too young or too old to convert! Ave Maria! God bless you.

  • @lippertism you sure are, REPENT! and donate all your money to the local church! and, as you are young, donate your ass to the priests!!

  • @lippertism We are all sinners. I am 17 and in the process of converting to The Roman Catholic faith. If the Holy Spirit is calling you, do not wait. I did and I wish that I had answered earlier. Just start by going to a Catholic Church, check out a few and pick one that you like. You should also make sure to check out the Novus Ordo mass and the Traditional Latin Mass. I chose a church that offers the Traditional Mass and I am very thankful I found that congregation. I will pray for you!!

  • @01FRENCHY12 Be careful not to go to a latin mass associated with the novus ordo, or Confraternity of Peter. Vatican II is evil.

  • @lippertism You don't have to wait until you're 18.... your conversion can start in your heart right now. God Bless you!

  • @lippertism you are in my prayers beautiful soul. May Our Lady protect, guide, and comfort you. Entrust yourself to her Immaculate Heart.

  • @lippertism You do not have to be 18 to convert to the Catholic Faith, all yo need is a strong desire to know God in His Trinitarian form, (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit). Technically you do not even need your parents permission, however, you should also respect the commandment to honor your mother and father. If you feel that the Lord is truly leading you to enter the Church, you are obligated to answer His call. Trust in the Lord and seek the intercession of our Mother Mary, Help of Christians.

  • @lippertism why not right now? are you not aloud? if not i understand, it was the same with me even when I did become Catholic I was persecuted greatly by my family and friends whom are Christian, but not from the Catholic Tradition

  • @lippertism Also i would urge you, Even if your not able to be Catholic Christian because of your age, family, or whatever but u do realize you are a sinner, I urge you to accept Christ in your life if you haven't already.

  • @lippertism Most Catholics, though persecuted by many of our Protestant family, realize that all Christians are part of the Catholic or "Universal(the meaning of Catholic)" Church created by our Lord and Savior. It doesn't matter the Church, what matters is the belief in the Truine God, Christ as our Lord and Savior, and living the life that He has called us to live! Many blessings to you and best wishes!

  • @jessieneace That is a lie! That's the protestant theological error of the "invisible Church," and it completely falls apart when applied to Sacred Scripture. Jesus Christ founded only One, visible Church on St. Peter the rock, and those who left it left to "[give] heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils." (1 Timothy 4:1)

  • @Killermuffin1 I am most upset that you believe that. At one time I was a Protestant Christian, then I converted to Catholic because I felt they wanted to work with other Churches ESPECIALLY Protestants. I'm upset to find there are pple of the Catholic faith that reject that view, but nonetheless I believe it

  • @jessieneace I converted from protestant evangelicalism not too long ago because Catholicism is the Truth. Not because it wants to work with people outside the One, True Faith. The Most Holy Eucharist is what makes us the Body of Christ, for the Blessed Sacrement IS the Body of Christ. Those who do not receive it are not a part of the Body of Christ, founed on St. Peter and his successors.

  • @Killermuffin1 The Vatican II is Sect is not the Catholic Church.

  • @Killermuffin1 Welcome home.

  • @Killermuffin1 Find a traditional mass that does not follow Vatican II. This is the best thing for you, trust me. Don't let anyone fool you, the second council was formed by those that were separated from the Church. if you are ready, and humble you will understand. if you have any questions....

  • @wowwhatwasthatfor I've found a parish that does offer the Tridentine Mass, but it's difficult to get there from where I live as the highway between my house and the parish is undergoing major construction, to the point where I got lost trying to get there. I'm investing in a GPS system to get around the construction so I can start attending though, as I'm getting quite sick of the regular abuses in the Novus Ordo Masses.

  • @wowwhatwasthatfor stop spreading heresy. Many of us do not like the novus ordo mass which is why we have the option of going to another parish or talking to our priest about offering an alternative, maybe weekly. Throwing words around like "evil" and such does you or your heart no good if you are a true Catholic.

  • @Killermuffin1 u r my hero

  • @GladiatorShield Save your much-appreciated admiration for the Saints, please. I still have a vast ocean of temptation to resist on a daily basis. I just said what the Truth is; the Saints, who have preserved the same Truth for generations, are the true heroes.

May Almighty God bless you. :)

  • @Killermuffin1 The Novus Ordo Mass is NOT evil. The abuses that sometimes occur are the fault of the PRESIDERS of the Mass, not the Mass itself. I've been to many Novus Ordo masses and have yet to see one where it was "abused".

I also think the Tridentine Mass is very beautiful, and love Latin. But saying that Vatican II is evil is like saying guns are evil.

It's the intentions of others that make something evil or good.

    God Bless.

  • @lippertism : you made the great decision!

  • @lippertism I'm 15 and I just converted to the Catholic Church a few months ago. Theres no age limit. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. Praying for you!

  • I WILL CONVERT OVER TO THE RC, GOD, LORD JESUS O, SACRED HEART, O, BLESSED VIRGEN, PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON ME, I WANT TO KNOW YOU ALL BETTER THAN WHAT I DO KNOW IN THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, IAM A SINNER AND I REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM IS NEAR

  • @lippertism the end is not near brother, pray to God so that Virgin Mary may give warmth to your heart, in every single aspect of this beautiful life you'll see the Lord is with you

  • Regina Angelorum, ora pro nobis !

Regina sine labe originali concepta, ora pro nobis !

Regina Sanctorum omnium, ora pro nobis.

Regina coeli, laetare, Alleluia, quia quem meruisti portare, Alleluia,

resurrexit, sicut dixit , Alleluia. Ora pro nobis Deum, Alleluia.

    AMEN

  • I love this Music,Tho I dont believe In god.

  • i am an atheist, but! i can never stop enjoying these chants.

  • "if you look back over every war ever faught religion is somewhere behind it smiling its evil face"

If I got a dollar every time I heard this sophism... The funny thing is, everybody I've ever heard say this actually thinks he's saying something intelligent and creative.

I'd wager that most wars have much more to do with money and power than religion. Atheism being an exception--Atheistic Communism has killed upwards of 200 million or more just last century.

  • @charlesviolin So religion makes em happy?

  • heavenly words and voices.

May the peace of Christ our God touch our troubled world

  • The singer makes a bad pronunciation of latin words. Especially the letter "R".

  • with the quality of diction, anyone would think the soloists first language was Latin, I love how even in the faster parts, there is no tripping over the, sometimes awkward words. A first rate performance :D

  • É vendo um video desses que dou glórias a Deus por ser católico....

  • AMEN.

  • Beautiful music. I love my faith . God bless all.

  • nottingham-diocesan-centre. org.uk/attachments/article/61/The-Angelus-Hymn-Sheet-Music.pdf

  • Please tell me where I can find that icon of Our Lady of the Sign that appears about two minutes into this video. I have seen a lot of similar icons, but there is something special about that one.

  • Roman Catholicism is the most beautiful faith! ♰

  • I use this about every other day to help me remember to pray. Thanks for posting it!

  • Thank you for honoring Our Blessed Mother. Those who do not understand this do not understand the Ten Commandments and that Christ is pleased when we acknowledge and honor his Mother who was his first and perfect disciple.

  • Thank you for your prayer

  • Ave Maria!

would you call this gregorianmusic, and if so why?

  • I wish people wouldn't argue so much! Read a book of pre-1960 Catholic Apologetics & discover Catholic Truth by reason alone. God bless.

  • I wish people wouldn't argue so much! Read a book of pre-1960 Catholic Apologetics & discover Catholic Truth by reason alone. God bless.
