Diablo 3 is going to come out December 2012 which coincidentally is the end of the world. (It's a shame games like Call of Duty or Madden/NBA 2K can come out every year and we have to wait for yeeeeeeeeaaaaarrrrs for this game to come out. I give up.

@devil019850 You haven't even played the game. You just watched a couple of videos, THAT WERE PROBABLY RECORDED IN THE ALPHA STAGE OF THE GAME NOT EVEN BETA. And anyway this was lackluster compared to the other videos because this video showcases followers (hirelings). Wait until the game comes out and people start playing for real, start giving actual reviews of the game, and start putting out actual footage from the beta or the full complete game.

somehow the followers look better than the playable characters, since they look more sophisticated, noble or they just fit in the diablo atmosphere, just like the 3 classes in diablo 1. well... their character and background seems to drive them more to demon slaying than just say.. it's not comming out 2011 thats for sure they are not even remotly close to release the beta and they are talking a 6 months beta game before release so go figure it out!! 10-12 more months minimum!!!
@simonpd36 they actually are more than remotely close to releasing the beta. last conference call marked beta to begin in Q3 2011, which is.... right now! more specifically july 1st - september 30th. The next conference call will be august 2nd (or 3rd?) and will most likely include more info on beta if not an expected beta release date.
blizzard is trying to impress the wow crowd for more money when all the wow players buy diablo 3 they will get hooked on to it,then wow will lose most of its players then to get back the money they want from monthly fees they will reveal the new mmorpg.

@rareu4532 First: go learn some grammar. Second: This looks nothing like wow, and about the darkness complaints. Because this engine is alot newer there's also going to be many more colors in the game. Plus it is not satisfying to just walk from a dark place to another dark place all the time. there's going to be dark places in Diablo 3, but i like to have a feeling of actually getting outside again when i leave the cave. The game doesn't have to be so dark you can't see anything..
templar looks awesome!..nothing better than beating the hell out of a horde of monsters with an array of babaric skills and weaponry. I cant wait for this games release!!
What the hell is everyone's problem? I think it looks pretty good, the gameplay hasn't changed that's fore sure. Diablo (and starcraft/warcraft for that matter) are not about grafix but about GAMEPLAY. If i want pretty visuals without content i can just watch a 3d render of a naked chick for an hour.
I can understand some people not agreeing with the current artstyle, but the environments feel pretty "diablo-esque" to me. I'm sure Blizzard won't dissapoint it's fans.
I think maney of will forgett the grafic when you play the game. I have play it in Köln last year and first i thought i will have problem with grafic etc. But when I play it all thought about grafic was gone away and the game is awsome.. Run in randoms world and explor and kill test new spells yee that is Magic..
Personally, I like the new art style. The environments feel like they were painted. It's nice. And the spells and stuff are colorful but not overwhelming.

Was gonna buy this game but poor graphics are a shocker. Diablo 3 is carrying heavy mechanics but having a ridiculously sexy game is more important than +5 damage versus undead. Thanks for trying to tempt me but I'd rather stick with Uncharted 3 and the likes.
It is an error to judge graphics via youtube or any videos; even if you have 1080 resolution, it will still pale in comparison to having a 40 inch monitor with ultra graphics set up all the way. For instance, StarCraft II looks amazing when you have a system capable of maximizing its graphics; I was a little skeptical of it when watching videos in 1080 before actually playing.

The "followers" should henceforth be known as "Activision Followers." These characters were not made from a gameplay perspective, but instead a marketing perspective.
Where's is the dark, creepy atmosphere of the first Diablogames? I doubt you can achieve it with that kinda cartooney, colourfull graphics, this isn't Torchlight. We'll see, but on first sight: this isn't what Diablo used to be...
@InfestedSanji Oh, believe me, I know. I've never played Starcraft, but I've followed the games. The huge gap between the first one and Starcraft two is just crazy. It's like Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem Forever, or Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I haven't really ever been into Diablo 2 that much. I know all about the series and such, so I thought I'd actually go try-hard mode on Diablo 3. It looks like it'll be alright, but it's swaying away from the originality of Diablo though. :/
@Deadllama1077 You fail to realize what blizzards main focus is currently. Keeping players on World of Warcraft. It is hard to make other games when a community 11.4 million strong is constantly demanding updates and new content.
@StarCraftUnBounD Blizzard and most companies have seperate areas for each game. A certain group work on SC, a certain group work on Diablo, and another group work on SC. It's no the whole company working on everything together. So, while WoW is being worked on by one group of Blizzard, another group is working on D3, and another is working on SC2. Or at least, I believe that's what happens. It's what happens most of the time.
@Deadllama1077 yes blizzard do have seperate departments for each game but you forget one thing....they each department constantly borrow the services of other professionals in other departments to help. for example they had to delay SC2 release because the services of some personal were required with the creation of a WoW expansion halfway during development. now you know the real truth behind WoW's negative influence on blizzard gaming
@StarCraftUnBounD completely agree. Blizzard is now financially focussed on one thing and one thing only: WoW. it not only makes it difficult to release other games but i have noticed a slow infection of other games with WoW elements....not good blizzard...not good.

I think maney of will forgett the grafic when you play the game. I have play it in Köln last year and first i thought i will have problem with grafic etc. But when I play it all thought about grafic was gone away and the game is awsome.. Run in randoms world and explor and kill test new spells yee that is Magic..

Personally, I like the new art style. The environments feel like they were painted. It's nice. And the spells and stuff are colorful but not overwhelming.

Was gonna buy this game but poor graphics are a shocker. Diablo 3 is carrying heavy mechanics but having a ridiculously sexy game is more important than +5 damage versus undead. Thanks for trying to tempt me but I'd rather stick with Uncharted 3 and the likes.

It is an error to judge graphics via youtube or any videos; even if you have 1080 resolution, it will still pale in comparison to having a 40 inch monitor with ultra graphics set up all the way. For instance, StarCraft II looks amazing when you have a system capable of maximizing its graphics; I was a little skeptical of it when watching videos in 1080 before actually playing.

All i've seen on this page so far is bitching.... to me this trailer was rather satisfying. Compared to many other games of it's style this still looks darker and more gothic. But it looks like they're still keeping that perfect game play that we all know and love now, just much more defined and more in depth. @SirVipez if fans of the original D1 and D2 complained about the darkness, the blood, the dead bodies...the mature dialogue, the gothic nature of the game...fair enough blizzard has every right to change those elements. but the reality is NOBODY complained about it in the 90s. in fact i was there in the 90s when people were praising it for such features. SO WHY OH WHY BLIZZARD DID YOU REMOVE SOMETHING WAS ONE OF THE STANDOUT FEATURES OF THE GAME??

@iamthewizard2 because it has become a cliche, and in the deepest reality more people would prefer it as it is now instead of that old dark feeling... I found that most people who complain about D3 for it's lack of darkness and gothic elements are just being pretencious... Besides, you can change the video setting and your LCD screen for that effect if you wish.. also regardless of it being dark or not i bet you'll be playing it 24/7 once its out ^_^

@SirVipez dont be a dick... you know what he really meant. when people say "we want what diablo used to be" we mean a darker, gothic, gritty, mature and realistic game. we're not asking to go back to age old graphic engines with sprites. we're asking for the same 'elements' which made diablo 1 + 2 what it is today. c'mon how can such a request be BAD for such a game when most of those fans who played D1 and D2 didnt complain about it in the 90s???

@InfestedSanji Oh, believe me, I know. I've never played Starcraft, but I've followed the games. The huge gap between the first one and Starcraft two is just crazy. It's like Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem Forever, or Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I haven't really ever been into Diablo 2 that much. I know all about the series and such, so I thought I'd actually go try-hard mode on Diablo 3. It looks like it'll be alright, but it's swaying away from the originality of Diablo though. :/

@StarCraftUnBounD Blizzard and most companies have seperate areas for each game. A certain group work on SC, a certain group work on Diablo, and another group work on SC. It's no the whole company working on everything together. So, while WoW is being worked on by one group of Blizzard, another group is working on D3, and another is working on SC2. Or at least, I believe that's what happens. It's what happens most of the time.

@Deadllama1077 yes blizzard do have seperate departments for each game but you forget one thing....they each department constantly borrow the services of other professionals in other departments to help. for example they had to delay SC2 release because the services of some personal were required with the creation of a WoW expansion halfway during development. now you know the real truth behind WoW's negative influence on blizzard gaming
