Skandar: That’s to make sure there’s nothing in the gates of the camera, which is the correct terminology.

Georgie: And if the gate’s good, then we’ll use the take, and if the gate’s not good, then we’ll have to do another one.

@LaviTehExorcist you might have already gotten a reply or had this answered but just in case... "check the gate" is a term used for checking the tape after you've shot a scene to make sure that the scene has been caught on tape correctly. Directors use this term hundereds of times while shooting a movie and the actors hear it all the time, so skandar wrote a song about it.. because hes that cute :)
