Normally, a 12 guage duck gun is almost enough to sprain your wrist on a single shot if it's fired one-handed. This thing looks like it has the recoil of a submachinegun at it's worst.

wow id face this anyday over 4 m16s. i mean its a great addition to a shotgun catagory that sorely needed to transition into the 21st century but its an urban warfare gun that has limited use and boundaries to how you use it. Unless your clearing rooms or something of that sort then this weapon is not that truly amazing.

I've read up a few articles claiming to have tested the AP capability of Slug ammo.
All claim it does not tears through armor, but is forcing itself through without penetration. Enough to tear that liver and break the rib cage and cause extreme damage in general.

Yeah, this thing ain't going through any tank armour, maybe if they develop a HEAT type round it could be used against APC and the like, but it'll never puncture a modern MBT. That's not what this weapon is for, it's for close range anti-infantry combat, especially in urban settings. It'd work well against light vehicles like cars and trucks too, to take out their pilots.

Not likely. Shotguns simply can't handle the chamber pressure produced by a round with enough oomph to go through 30+ mm of RHA/aluminium/applique. You could beef up the design and add rifling, but then it wouldn't be a shotgun...it'd be an anti-materiel rifle.
Also, even thin-skinned vehicles give good protection against shotguns. 00 buck has a hard time penetrating even windscreens or car doors at range or oblique angles. The pellets just have a poor ballistic shape.

I am not aware that the jihadis in Iraq and Afghanistan HAVE tanks. Even if they did, there are plenty of other ways to kill a tank, from handheld AT missiles, to Apaches and A-10's. This is for close quarters combat.

no it isnt. i did not make the comparison, he pointed out that you can fire this gun at lower recoil than a LMG. That is a biased statement considering that the m60 and m249 are about three times as heavy and fulfill a completely different role than a automatic shotgun

What do you mean Bobby? Look at this thing, it's got some of the lowest recoil I've ever seen, and it's a 12 gauge! Normally, a 12 guage duck gun is almost enough to sprain your wrist on a single shot if it's fired one-handed. This thing looks like it has the recoil of a submachinegun at it's worst.
