  • For those of you who think it is stupid to give the baby a "snack" when you go to bed.. it actually works. My son will sleep for like 3-4 hrs at a time. But when I go to bed it is maybe an hour before he would normally have gotten up. .. he'll sleep for a good 6 hrs after that. Lastly, I think the random comment about giraffes at the end is just trying to make a frustrated parent feel better, at least the kids sleeps more than that. quit being so judgemental.

  • Don't have a party? Damn. THAT'S what I've been doing wrong. Strobe lights, Dance music, the works!

  • that bitch rollled over and went back to sleep dam..

  • @Carley331 My son is 15 months and far away from sleeping through the night, as is my 11-month old nephew and my between 6 and 20 months old friend's babies. And that all are only "personal experiences", not scientific research, which by the way backs up my personal experience.

  • 90% of all babies sleep through the night at 3 months??? Source??? (your grandma?) Do proper research before making a video Howcast.

  • @BennyandLore Very true. My nephew is almost a year old, and he HARDLY sleeps. They say don't make a party out of it.. But I let my nephew play until he's tired. It's not about the parents anymore.

  • how do u know they are full

  • Let the baby cry? not a good advice

  • I didn't even know that about the giraffes :)

  • Soo...are they saying a baby resembles a giraffe now???

  • I dont like the idea of sticking my newborn in a room by himself... he just spent the last nine months with me and Im not about to leave him on his own now!!

  • Wtf was the random giraffe fact at the end for??

  • The very last thing I ever would have done was to wake my baby up after I got him to sleep to give him a "snack." That's completely counterproductive. He'll mess his diaper sooner. And why wouldn't he "expect a breast or bottle every time he wakes up" if you wake him up for a snack every single night? This video is embarrassingly stupid.

  • I agree that letting your baby cry is wrong. If your baby is crying, I feel you are obligated to see if needs a feed, diaper, or anything else. You can Not just let a baby just cry for an extended period of time.

  • HHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA fuck you.

  • And for your information it a baby cry is their for to communicate, why one should ignore them?? Researches have found that cry it out is a dangerous for baby!

  • WHAT???????? Are u crazy? You are asking a MOM to run away from her instincts? You do NOT need to give your baby formula, you can look for someone to help you breastfeeding and if you have something wrong with it you can look in a bank milk who can hand you milk for your baby. Also you NEED to follow your instincts, if your body tell you to not let them cry NOT THEM LET CRY! Why you should do what people tell you.. Even don't listen to me, LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS!!!!

  • This video essentially suggests that you let your child stew in hey own pee, and over feed the baby. Wow.

  • Thanks now i now my giraffes sleeping patterns

  • Wow! There is so much about this video that I disagree with, it's not even funny. When the lady "jiggled" the little baby, I was hoping she'd get puked on.

  • Lol the giraffe fact was sooooo funny.

  • @ToxicKisses315 ...what's wrong with you?

  • How big do you want your crib?!

  • @bex1980able

Well, you might appreciate a crib that has enough space for the baby to grow. Babies grow so fast. Would you rather get a crib everytime the baby outgrows it? It's practical to have a crib with enough allowance rather than getting the baby cramped up inside a crib.

  • okay, let me see if i understand.........DON'T go to your baby, let them cry all night, JIGGLE then to get them to wake up ,oh and let them sleep through the night with a wet diaper, great advice........GIRAFFES, really?

  • @mrslafferty15 I know right, jiggle? So much of this video is really irresponsible! NEVER ever shake a baby.

  • Comment removed

  • xD mthe Giraffe thing made me LOL. It was so unexpected!

  • WTF did giraffes have to do with the cute lil baby

  • that crib is a little to big

  • I'm a giraffe. But I thought you were meant to go as soon as your baby cries so she feels safe?

  • DON'T PUT LOOSE BLANKETS IN THE CRIB!!!!!

  • aaawww that baby was so cute!!!

  • I don't even know why I'm watching this.. But all I can say is: If I had a baby, I'd never let her/him sleep ALONE in a room. I mean seriously..That's just scary. :(

  • @dagger100222 Why not? Most babies do. It's not like someone will go in there. I never slept alone (because I am a triplet), but most babies do as soon as they are taken home. You probably slept in your own room.

  • @TastyPlainPizza Triplet? Aww that's awesome! :D Anyways, I don't know, I've never slept alone before, I've always shared a room with my sister or whatever. Since I was brought up that way, I guess I have this weird *phobia* now when I sleep alone.. Which sucks.. But yea, maybe it's just me, but I'd be scared to leave a child alone in a room. Where I come from, most mothers put the crib in their own bedrooms to be on the safe side.

  • @dagger100222

My mother would never do that. She claims we kept each other awake. If one cried, we would all wake up and cry. We also would "talk" to each other and stay up all night, so we were put in a separate room from my parents. My cousin is 1 years old and has been sleeping in her own room ever since she was a few months old. She is being raised at my g-ma's house and my g-ma's room is right next to her room.

  • why do they always say SHE or HER

  • @TheSimsAreAmazing They also say she or her in cat magazines. you know, like The Cat Collection Magazine

  • Who gives a shit about giraffes?!

  • if you get a baby sleep at night you should sing her a lullaby and rock her

  • Guys I'm a 13year old girl and she didn't shake her she jiggled her like when ur rocking a baby in your arms also baby's actully like the feeling of being restrained and were not being chocked

  • Wow, how the hell can you do this... someone should call DHS on your ass. Shake a baby to wake him/her. Retard. and Dont change a baby when they are wet. Do you know why your kid has a rash all of the time? might check that.... Horrible... delete it dumbass

  • Okay.... 1) YOU DON'T JIGGLE A BABY! EVER! THEY CAN GET SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME WHICH IS VERY SERIOUS! and 2) YOU DON'T USE BLANKETS IN A BABY'S CRIB - THEY'LL SUFFACATE. These Howcast people know nothing!

  • @titanicgrl97 3) You can jiggle her very very softly, just enough to get her awake. 4) Shaking a baby is unthinkable. 5) I bet you're right on 2

  • WEN U PUT THE BABY IN THE CRIB IT LOOKS LIKE SHE WAS SUFFACATING.SHE CANT EVENT MOVE.AND EVERYONE THEY R NOT SAYING TO SHAKE IT HARD,JUST JUGGLE IT A LIL SOFTLY ENOUGH TO WAKE IT UP JEESH.AND THANKS NOW I KNOW NOT TO PUT CERIAL IN THE MILK.EVERYTIME MY COUSIN ALWAYS PUTS CEREAL IN EVERY BOTTLE THAT BBY DRINKS HAD CEREAL.NOW I KNOW THANKS.

  • @sweetii098

It's called a "Swaddle" and though it looks uncomfortable to you, babies love them. It reminds the baby of being in the womb.

  • @Hadra568

another way to remind a baby of being in the mother's womb is holding the baby in a specific position so the head touches the heart

  • no baby jiggling or shaking! and why are there so many blankets around that baby in that crib--sooo unsafe!

  • aww the baby is cutee, BUT YOU DO NOT JIGGLE THE BABY!

  • That's one pissed off looking mom

  • Babies, just like anyone else, know best THEMSELVES if they're hungry and want feeding. Every two hours? Every 30 minutes? Normal. A baby ALWAYS. Cries for a reason. And yes, a need for a cuddle and closeness is just as important as a need for calories. Babies need both physical and emotional nurturing both during the day and night

  • what you don't jiggle a baby.

  • How to make it Sleep??? EASY! I just Shake mine : )

  • I hate it when people say it like JERAFFS!

  • awww soooo cute!!!

  • dont change her if her diaper is only wet!? NO always change

  • sooo you dont need a baby?

  • What do hell does a giraffe have to do with a baby sleeping through the night!?

@xBloodXGusherx... Go easy on the babies... They are okay... :D

  • FUCK BABIES !!!

  • @xBloodXGusherx that's illegal in my country

  • @xBloodXGusherx U R SHIT.

  • @chriss380 lol jp man..chilax

  • @zsanettrp: Are you kidding? Breast feeding sometimes doesn't work out...think before u say something!

  • But I don't want my baby sleeping with a dirty diaper =;(

  • Go ahead, Zsanett... I'm totally speechless...

  • Why does a 3-month-old baby get bottlefed instead of breastfeeding? And why would she be doomed to spend the night lonely and swaddled? Can I report this as child abuse?

  • Can I report this as child abuse?

  • Fuck it. Don't jiggle a baby!!! You're supposed to flick the foot...damn they're soo stupid

  • I thought it was just my Giraffe!

  • Babies go through much more frequent, light cycles of sleep than adults, so they are more sensitive to stimuli. Most babies are not developmentally ready to sleep through the night by 3 months. I'd like to know where that 90% statistic came from. A great way to ensure she cries all night in pain and vomits everywhere is to feed her an entire bottle and then "jiggle" her awake and make her eat more. Make sure you teach her that she's only full when you say and that her instincts are wrong. Great.

  • never give your baby formula a babys IQ is said by doctors to rise when breast fed,

  • @thebug707 well there are some moms who can't breast feed.

  • if only it was that simple!!! My daughter must be a giraffe in the making!

  • you will need:

    - a pillow

    - 30 seconds

  • wut... giraffes...?

  • Use a bat.

  • You don't jiggle a baby!!!! And what up with the giraffes?

  • @GreenEyedSummerGirl Jiggling is different than shaking. Shaking is harmful, jiggling can even be a way of comfort/play to some babies.

  • jiggle her awake?? I always thought jiggle was another word for shake...never jiggle a baby. Just...i dunno...tap her awake??? xx

  • @Hatty1997 or just don't wake her at all!

  • that baby is sooo cute!!!

  • im sure thats a boy room not a girl one

  • Awww!! Thats one of the cutest babys I ever seen!!

  • you should ALWAYS respond to a crying baby.. there is always a reason y they are crying and if they are just lonely etc.. best for their mental development is to responds and love on your child

  • @laurasking yeah I can not ignore my baby when she is crying, maybe she saw a bad dream or whatever...

  • @laurasking Well, actually some babies just cry because they are bored..... that would not be a reason.

  • @laurasking Plus, it didn't say not to respond, it said do not respond RIGHT AWAY. Sometimes the baby might stop in, like, 10 second

  • @MissClavelle and noone was talking about a 10 second cry... this video is about babies who won't go to sleep, ergo they cry longer than 10 seconds. And being bored is a reason, too! If you are helpless (not being able to move around and find something to entertain you) than being bored is a reason to cry and should be answered imo but some people think it is too much work entertaining their babies. A baby means work! If you are not willing to do it, do not have children!!

  • @TheLauralein Well actually a lot of babies do indeed cry for about 10 seconds when they can't sleep. If they are bored, then entertaining them will only keep them up longer.

  • @TheLauralein And you don't even have children I bet so don't go telling me not to have children

  • @MissClavelle uhm I have 3 children! You need to learn how to read: I wrote that no one was talking about a 1o second cry! They were talking about letting a baby cry it out.. if my baby cries, I listen to the cry. A mom should know what a cry means. If my baby cries because he just woke up.. I wait for a little while. You can differentiate between a cry because a baby is in some sort of "trouble" or if it just woke up but will go back to sleep in a min. ..

  • @MissClavelle if a child screams 10 minutes straight.. it obviously needs attention.. if that is convenient for someone or not.. it needs love! Needs to know that you are there for it! In fact it is unnatural to have a baby sleep alone in a bed and not with you. Check other cultures or even in the animal world. All living beings need love and closeness. "modern" people are being alienated from their children and everyone wonders why kids today have so many emotional problems?!?!

  • @MissClavelle I most certainly will not listen to a video telling me to jiggle my baby awake, when it fell asleep, just so I can fill it to the top with milk.. and that only so it will sleep longer, to not interrupt my sleep cycle. when you have a child it's not about you anymore, it's about the baby! the first year is hard, but you can coax babies with love instead of with ignoring it and pretty much telling it that it can't depend on you!

  • @TheLauralein Then why... exactly are you here? If you don't like the video then go away but Howcast knows their facts. They would not say something that is dangerous. They do their backup research. Only shaking the baby is harmful, slightly jiggling it is not.

  • @MissClavelle why can't I be here? I was, like you, looking for new ideas of how to get my baby sleeping through the night. But in a loving way not with forcing it to eat or jiggling it awake. I never said jiggling it was dangerous?! Maybe you shouldn't reply to something you clearly haven't read! Who says Howcast knows their facts? You? if you read the replies to this video you might see that the huuuuge majority says it is ridiculous. Pediatric Physiologist will tell you...

  • that babies cries (not short 10 second cries) should be answered, to give the feeling of safety. People used to carry their babies 24/,7 now they are on their own most of the time? And people let babies "cry something out" when all they might need is something simple like love? People do not want to put the effort into a baby that it actually needs. That is why I think, PEOPLE not you in particular, shouldn't have children if they don't wanna deal with them and their own needs and personalities

  • @TheLauralein It never said that they shouldn't be answered. It said you should wait a little bit to see if it was just a ten second cry. You can't tell me not to have children. You are making up things, saying I said them, then trying to frame it all on me. If you are this immature, YOU should NEVER have kids.

  • @MissClavelle you are boring me. I never said YOU should not have kids, but people that do not want to invest time in their kids. Please start to read right! You are the one who started a discussion with me. All I wrote was that all cries should be answered. And to your reply I have said that I wasn't talking about to short cry, and noone was talking about these short cries. Noone would run to the crib the very instant they hear a baby. because some babies cry in their sleep.

  • I said that if a baby REALLY cried, you shouldn't let the baby cry it out. And that is MY opinion. You can do whatever you like with your child/children. But I am allowed to state my opinion to this ridiculous video. Who are you to question why I am watching it in the first place? Why don't you go have a life instead of annoying people with your opinion that no one cares about??

  • For me i just throw the baby out the window.. JKJK =='''.

  • shake you baby?LMAO

  • @mymarcus10 I would hate to be your child thats how babies get sids

  • 1:40 those beds aren't safe... at all...

  • Formula mixed with vodka.

  • @Lexigiggles thats hilarious!

  • @Lexigiggles You're an idiot

  • Very comforting to learn about Giraffes.

    Most informative and pertinent.

  • If your baby cries at night, don't ignore him or her like the video says. Your response to the cries are what builds up a sense of trust as he or she gets older. If you ignore your child, chances are that they could become seriously anti-social and have trust issues.

  • Comment removed

  • @ArsonBeanTanks Completely true. Research supports this. The cry-it-out method only results in loss of trust and hope.

  • @ArsonBeanTanks so thats why i get in so much trouble

  • what a cutie:)

  • @uRDArkFRieND30

That's just awful. You have a sick sense of humor.

  • @uRDArkFRieND30 what the fuck is wrong whit you?

  • Most parents are like

''Lets put that annoying shit to sleep already then we can fuck alot go to school already mommy and daddy gonna drink beer and fuck alot!''

  • I'm so glad I'm not a giraffe mommy. (Although, I feel like one right now, with my 5-month old waking every two to three hours at night.)

  • Use Whiskey.

    And Tylenol

your baby will sleep all knight, and you can booze till midnight and watch jerry springer or watch that bible tv crap you guys watch.

  • @Amaxander You dont give whiskey to a baby dumb fuck

  • did you know?: sharks never sleep...

  • @ohgoodjoy

if they slept they drown right? isnt tht dumb? haha.

  • @novideosforme123 Haha no, actually most fish sleep. Sharks just evolved so they don't need sleep. Sharks die if they stop moving, though.

  • what if it is a he??

    all they say is she!!

  • @rafashyft maybe i should do this to you

make you swallow nails, put glass in ur mouth, punch u til ur cheeks have holes in them, hook u up to a car battery, give u some electricity, unhook you, , rip ur finger nails out, cut ur tongue, lips, eyelashes, ears, nose,, shove a spiked ball up ur ass til ur hole is about as wide as a baseball, put acid all over ur arms, hang u by ur feet, and cut ur hands of with a chainsaw. maybe after all that hard , hard, work you might be asleep like that baby

  • Baby + Giraffe?

  • giraffes are awesome!

  • @KholaBear I just said that before I looked at the comments lawl

  • keep them entertained during the day and they will sleep

  • the crib wasnt even padded...wtf

  • thats wat the baby was thinking

  • Are you talking about a bumper pad? You aren't supposed to use those. They increase the risk of sids.

  • @BreannaLovesJuan2333

You should use them as the child gets older, they can slip through the bars and break a foot or leg. I knew someone whose very young baby slipped his whole body through the bars, but got his head caught and strangled to death while the mother was out of the room.

  • Which is why I have a breathable bumper.

  • @Lyndzee7Rock tht is sad:(

  • Oh yes, that makes perfect sence to make them sleep longer, wake them up first. lol
