R31 skyline versus E36 M3(drag)

Too many dickhead comments here. Basically an R31 skyline with about $4k invested SHOULD beat a stock 3.0L M3 pretty easy and be more or less even with a 3.2L. For around $7k all up including car and mods you're almost guaranteed an R31 will be faster than a stock M3. But at the end of the day an M3 is an M3. I've had both cars and the M3 is without a doubt a much much better car over all.

@speedmonkeyworks - HAHA So true i used to have an R31 with a RB25DET and the speedo didn't work, neither did the heater or the A/C. I thought when i bought it that i would just deal with it but it was very inconvienient.. so i sold it. Awesome car though.

Yeah its you, R32 is about as decent as the shape got and i still prefer a tough old R31 anyday. Very proud of this vid, owned 3 R31's. always good to see it own something alot more expensive.

I'm a big fan of the R31s / R32s as well, but it's interesting to note that although the Skyline got the jump by a couple of car lengths off the line, the M3 starts hauling it in almost straight away. The R31 may have won over the 400m, but I don't like it's chances over the standing km.

Don't repeat the same experiment on the track... I think you'll find that if you add some corners, the e36 will eat the R31 without any problems at all!

Hey man...they come LSD but they dont last... the way to go is the Mini spool...it basically locks the diff up(its something you put in the diff), or the other option...weld it locked...we did it with mine and no hastles so far.....

Da RB30 would be slower den da RB25, coz it only has a SOHC. It can produce more torque though, if u spend a lot. My suggestion would be a RB25 head on a RB30 block. Dey do it a lot ova here in AUS, and it worx. Bt hey, dnt listen 2 me, I'm only 17...
