Unbelievable how you English are being fooled once again! Lib Dem, Torries and Labour are all the same piece of shit! This will only lead to even more immigration, just remember what this guy said about illegal immigrants! The British National party is sadly your only choice, the rest of them are traitors. Norway is using England as an example of how bad immigration can turn out to be.
Cripes! That's why there was a big News Int pow wow yesterday then.
I bet the ol' digger is blowing a gasket. He may, just may have mis read the public on this.
Unlike subscribers, who it seems can be "forced" to change their habits to online 'papers' apparently, electors - thats you and me - can't be so easily strong armed.
Now that Sam Cam has decided to stick her oar in, perhaps she would like to inform us of her own background? We are all aware of those Old Etonians and Bullingdon chums: Cameron and Osborne, but what of her own family the Astors, who made vast amounts of money from slum land-lording? Perhaps she would like to tell us about her father: that Old Etonian and 8th Baronet Sir Reginald Aidrian Berkeley Sheffield?
@skcodyerrus Perhaps she would like to inform us of her step-father, that Old Etonian Sir William Waldorf Astor the 4th Viscount? Or pehaps she would like to spill the beans on her Grandfather Robert Charles Berkeley Sheffield, that Old Etonian and self-satisfied pompous apologist of fascism?
@skcodyerrus Or maybe Sammy would like to inform us all of her cousin, that Old Etonian Sir Ferdinand Mount, who was head of Thatcher`s policy unit? There can be no place, for a British parliament of today, to be a parliament of privilege!
What I mean to say , is Brown micro managing proposition is wrong.
But it is the conservatives which are imposing these rules upon my school.
They are trying to make my school religious selective and are using micro managing techniques to get our teachers fired.
Its horrific , teachers have been crying , working till 9 pm , students who used to get help from the teachers about work or personal issues now cannot.
The Independent is an unbiased paper? I vote Cameron, he's not green (ie someone who obviously thinks the world is safe - Clegg) nor someone who has failed at speculation, hoped, white lied, lied and covered up (either that or was clearly learning the ropes as they went - Brown) but I want Cameron to be reasonable. As for values? I got them from my parents, who got theirs from their parents who were British and Irish.
The trouble is that New Labour are continuing to rage at least two neo-colonialist wars in the middle east, as well as turning the UK into a police state with more surveillance cameras than any other country in the world.
Vote Lib Dem to put an end to the two party system, We should have a government of consensus, not one of vested self interest. Excellent advert by The Independent.
Good ad. And to the detractors, the Independent is and always has been independent. They're not brutish tribalists. Certainly I wouldn't take for granted the position of a paper that regularly features columnists like Mark Steel on the one hand and Bruce Anderson on the other.
"THE INDEPENDENT" ?? That was the first reason I started taking the newspaper The Independent, but this sad advertisement shows they are attempting to join the X Factor Clegg race to try and improve its ever falling paid for circulation. Why is there no mention about the illegal money taken by the LibDems and why it has not been repaid, why they had many of the tainted MP's with expenses?? people want badly an Independent Newspaper, it looks as if we have now lost another to Politics!
Don't expect anything to change after the election whoever you vote for. All the main parties are loyal to organizations like Common Purpose, the Bilderberg group, the EU and the globalist banking cartel. All are aiding the subversion of the UK on behalf of the EU. All support the growing police state, the aggressive wars, the banker bailouts and the destruction of British freedom and sovereignty. The voting system is there to give the illusion of choice. Research the new world order.
i'd gladly vote for nick clegg, except that he hasn't made it clear that he will not use his position to lend support to the tories. so i have to vote labour. i think nick clegg is missing a great opportunity here. millions of people like me will vote labour through fear of the tories, because clegg hasn't done enough to distance himself from the right.
clegg has made it extremely clear that he has no interest in lending power to either of the traditional parties. The lib dems are a genuine option for change not the "vote for change" BS from a party whose only policies are to seem as different as possible to labour (because the two are practically identical). Why not vote for the only mainstream party that opposed iraq every time, the only party aiming for true parliamentary reform, and the only party with a real, workable immigration policy.
sorry if that seemed really negative to any people out there, but there really isn't much to go for in the same old politics that have been failing us for too long.
Vote lib-dem and you may change the voting system, vote nick clegg and brown may get into power, but vote nick clegg and you hand over control of our country to the EU. Ukip FTW
I don't know why people get so upset about the unions donating money, they are organisations formed by their millions of members to stand up for them.
The difference in votes to elect peoples of different parties is absolutely absurd. The person with the most votes should be the next prime minister, its ridiculous that someone can get less votes and win the election! Come on it doesn't take a genius to see how unfair that is. Also a vote should count for 1 vote where ever you live, where I live its only worth about 0.1 which is absurd, all this nonsense with 'seats' >:(
Well I'm voting lib dem anyway :D if enough people do they'll get in
@sportsportsport British values are not values at all, they are decided by the elite, the values you envision are the power of capital for the ruling class, Google the Bilderburg group or the Illuminati and open your eyes. No disrespect to you.
@EvianOFBenin No offense taken, I know of both groups. And I totally understand your point. However British values still exist in the hearts of 'real' British people. Nothing can control those values or change those values, regardless of who's in power. They have long lasted many wars and tribulations.
This is fantastic. Exactly why I buy and read The Independent, online and in print. It's also why I agree with Nick. Whoever said rotten boroughs died with the Middle Ages?
A vote for Nick Clegg is a vote for real democracy and against the influence of media and lobbyists. If you believe in a fairer voting system and breaking the stranglehold of money vs. power then vote Lib Dem. The more votes they get, the more likely the system will get reformed. Vote wisely on May 6th!

I used to love staying during breaks with my teacher and doing extra work.
The micro management imposed doesn't allow that anymore as I cannot stay in class without a teacher under new guidance rules.
These new rules also state that my teachers must attend guidance classes during break , so I cannot do any work at all.
Breown micro managing is causing everyone too much stress.
It took 3 week for my work to get ,marked because my teachers are now staying till 9pm every day.
