I had to order this DVD from the UK (I'm in the west coast in the US). Then I had to figure out how to read a region 2, PAL DVD. Worth it! This concert is awesome!
This is part of his song "I'm In a Cage" which is why he says "All the real stars are hanging out in bars." Just for any of you who thought he was talking bars you drink in.
@theoderik12 Yes, but I believe he wants to be able to watch it on a North American DVD player. UK and Australian DVD coding don't work in the US or Canada.
@Chillit67 Interestingly, the Regional system was intended to protect US business interests, as have been many other greatly misinformed and stupid ideas.
I'd really like to see the whole DVD on YouTube... I own the DVD itself, but I like to just have Tim's voice playing in the background of all the stuff I do online. But just having The Fence on here would satisfy me. It's the song that inspired me to be who I'm finally comfortable with - a heteroromantic homosexual wiccan athiest. XD
His eyes are red because of his contact lenses, after constant usage from early morning till late night ever day they will become bloodshot due to lack of protein protecting the retina.
While I am a huge Tim Minchin fan and saw this tour live in London I am wary of getting this dvd, as from the songs that are on Youtube, it sounds like the sound mixing is completely off and you can barely hear the audience laughter. It really takes away from comedy songs if you can barely hear anyone laughing.
@hayzerclon definately, he should have sung this song on a different show on the BBC (not ITV, why would he do that, or maybe Channel 4) and dedicated it to Peter Fincham.
@Sozzie16MJ No, what peter fincham did was stop easily manipulated idiots hating tim minchin. It would be like Jeremy Clarkson on the one show. Tim never said a single thing offensive, but becasue it was near christmas people might stop liking tim.
@TheEquinox100 Meh... Fair enough. But still, Tim was/is pretty pissed off with it. And because I'm Tim-ist (yes, I just made a new relgion...) I agree with Tim's veiws. Although it is fair that people can be easily manipulated and whatnot, but still, I've seen him perform what he performed on Johnathon Ross live at Hammersmith, and the audience were ALL in stitches. :P
@Sozzie16MJ Again not doubting Tim's brilliance and genius, but with the mob mentality of a live crowd, you were all gonna either love or hate Tim's work, but because he is generally awesome everyone loved it, but when it comes to people criticizing then that mob mentality comes back and people who were on the edge about Tim start to dislike him
@TheEquinox100 Plus all those people were there to see him already enjoy his humor/views, being on tv gaurantees people who dont agree with you will see what your saying. So obviously, there will be confrontation.
Just so you guys know, if you haven't seen the DVD, the song that plays before this is I'm in a Cage, and when he's saying real stars are hanging out in bars, he's talking about how he entered the Arena in a cage before this song, and how that's what real stars are doing. :) Just to clear up any confusing about people thinking it was bows, or bars where you drink alcohol.
There are only a few people in the world I would pay money to for the honor of them telling me to "suck their balls" and "fuck you all." Tim Minchin is probably 4 of the people on that list!
@AndrewBCNZ So funny and original. One person at least wishes you would give it a rest with this kind of post. It wasn't even funny the very first time it was used. Now it stinks like week-old fish. Give us all a break, can'tchya?
Turns down Pepsi because he has no interest selling out, then records a song about selling out and uses it to plug his own DVD. Tim, you are a legend.
@DanieleGiorgino Haha, that's very true. Rock 'n Roll nerd, he thought he was always gonna be a fucked up little try-hand wanna be rock 'n roll nerddd. But now, he's achieved what he thought was impossible back then, and it's changed him! I don't think it really has, though.
