  • Hi,

I like your information as I am also interested in this fish which is sold in Walmart.

Does this fish grow no more then 3 inch? I want to limit its size....I cannot have fish that is too big....

By saying salt water, is it just add more amount of aquarium salt into the water? Or is it different condition? I only have freshwater fish and I add some aquarium salt to decrease the possible bacteria level.

    Thank you

  • PETA stands for PEOPLE EATING TASTY ANIMALS

  • FAT PUFFER! So cute. His coloring is beautiful, It's always nice to see a super happy gsp.

  • Good lookin puffers they NEED to eat things like crabs they have fast growing teeth and have to eat hard foods to wear them down

  • your GSP seems very healthy, i'm surprised he lives in peace with that molly you have in there, perhaps that's due to being brackish.... mine is full salt now, and he doesnt like to live with anything other than puffers... i have 2 figure 8 puffers (3.5 inches) and my 3 inch GSP.

whenever i put any other saltwater fish in the tank other than aggressive/ predators or clownfish they always eat the fins off and leave them to die on the bottom of the tank.

  • why do the pet stores say freshwater then?

  • what other fish can swim together with the puffer fish? They seam dangerus to other fish if they are hungry.

  • @alexisebarton this isn't English class. who gives a rats ass cunt.

  • aww hes so cute :3

  • i just got a green spotted puffer fish at walmart also they are getting sold as fresh water fish as well, should my puffer fish be placed in salt water??

  • @FuNsIzE520 you should increase the salinity a little every week, get marine salt and a hydrometer from petsmart.

  • I have dwarf puffers in freshwater and will be getting som efigure 8 puffers, they are been solt as freshwater the F8s and people online all say brackish is a must, but the puffers are caugh in fresh water rivers so i don't get it.

  • @TriopsUKnorth who said there caught in fresh water? its brackish water near the ocean. they are not freshwater fish period. thats a myth. walmart are douche bags that should be sued for that shit. they never look happy or healthy in fresh and don't last long.

  • @supersaltwaterfish

There born in 100% freshwater and move closer to the sea as they get older so can live in both.

  • @TriopsUKnorth they are brackish water fish and thats a fact. they do not live healthy lives in freshwater, they need brackish or saltwater.

  • @supersaltwaterfish

Where is the fact other then forums and what single people say?

  • @TriopsUKnorth what?! these animals are not a mystery and much is known about their lives. it is a fact that they are BRACKISH water fish. Your a moron.

  • @supersaltwaterfish ^I want to be this guy's friend.

  • Cute fish.

  • i have the same kind of fish but in a freshwater tank

  • @vgdhdfhfghh they do live in both fresh and salt , but i think they do best in saltwater

  • im want one in my tank but i have questions first do u need need need salt and what kind of lights bring out the color the most ?????? wondering

  • i change my 2 puffers from freshwater to full salt water 1023 in less then 2 hours last month and day are doing great

  • its strange i have one in fresh water.

  • @bool92

Is it dead yet? They normally die soon in FW

  • i use normal spring water and mines fine

  • well mine i didn't put no salt or notthing it living with my gold fish.

  • I just got mine from Wal-mart, I have done mine with a Fresh/Salt walter mix He's cute. and still mean i see lol

  • how is yours so GREEN?? beautiful color!

  • @Deltad healthy and happy and the type of lights can help bring out the color

  • i have a nice sized one i got from walmart it won't eat do they eat fish? i tried frozen dry food my tank is half fresh water and fresh salted hes doing great i kinda want him to eat like yours one gold fish of mine died would he eat it i wonder ?

  • can you please tell me more about these fish he seems to be doing alright but i still need to know more information on them i only found a little online about it but its not enough realy to go on

  • they will do fien in both but most people say they are slightly short lived in freshwater

  • Umm...Im Sorta Confused ...See I Have 3 green spotted puffer fish there all about 1 inch or 2inches not that big but i have them in spring water is that okay? Or Do I NEED Salt Water? Please Help! And Reply! Thank You!

  • @MeRawrCookies add some sea salt or ocean salt.

  • @supersaltwaterfish

    That is a terrible idea.

They are sold at pet stores as fresh water fish. It is actually fairly rare to find these as SW fish at most pet stores. You can usually only find them at Fish only stores as a SW fish.

  • @TurtleFactori you dont have a CLUE! This is a brackish water fish. That means they naturally live in some saltwater! THEY ARE NOT FRESH WATER FISH!!! Stupid stores sell them as fresh water fish for profit! These fish do WAY better in saltwater or brackish water than they do in Fresh Water!!! JEEZ

  • @supersaltwaterfish WTF WALMART told me to give my fish freshwater and they gave him to me knowingly having ick i though i could make him better but hes just getting worse well no wonder he doesnt have the right water...where would i be able to get brackish/ salt water??

  • @cassandra142b Yeah, the dumbass clerks told me they were paeceful fish. Thats far from the truth. Mine nipped the tails of all my mollies.

  • @MeRawrCookies

Just buy some instant ocean, and then add something every week, dont do it to fast, your bacteries have to transform in brackish bacteries... what i need in total is 15 grams of salt per liter water! now i have 250 grams on 60 litres, en theyre doing great!! Good luck man, if you need advice i will help you

  • @MeRawrCookies Thats fine. I have one in fresh water and its still alive.

  • First time I ever saw one of these was at a Wal Mart in Maine, and a lot of the poor little guys were dead. Anyway, I think I want one. You ythey actually do better in saltwater?

  • Wallmart???

  • How old is he? My green spotted puffer Sushi's also been in saltwater since she was a baby and looks almost the same size as yours

  • That is the happiest puffer I have ever seen

  • have you ever put any fish in there?
