  • Lol, all I can imagine while listening to this song are all the Tonberry's I fought just to capture one.

  • 2:26 to 3:05 dat violin

  • Comment removed

  • I noticed that Square enix when they make sequal final fantasy games tehy never involve the same main character the sequal/prequal switches main character Final fantasy 4 from Cecil--->Ceodore. Final fantasy 7 Zack--->Cloud---->Vincent. Final fantasy 10 Tidus--->Yuna. and now Lightning---> Serah. I want a sequal with the same bloody main character for both not the older main character becomeing a side character or not even appearing at all.

  • @Lelouchxzero1 No one cares about this ridiculous opinion they might change their main characters but the story continues from another persons point of view and plus XIII had no Main character its was more like Main Characters.

  • @Lelouchxzero1 Technically Yuna is one of the main characters in 10, but if you mean the character you control. Then you are right on the money.

  • This is also the song of AF300 Bresha ruins, great song BTW

  • i like XIII better cause of the fact of character building like u just met the characters and you find out more about them. i mean both are great games but only learning about noels past. I enjoy having a bunch of characters become a strong team other than 2 of the same characters and a third wheel. i like the idea but i prefer a band together, xiii-2 just broke up the band. But seriously both are great games, great soundtrack and a great genre, Defying fate and doing the impossible

  • @itypeupsidedown I like it better because it's ending did not suck and the story lasted longer then 14 hours the only thing i liked about this game more was the monster party members

  • Honestly, shoulda been the main battle theme through the whole game.

  • this theme hook me up since the first time it plays at the start of the game,, when noel get to new bodum and the monsters are invading the town, while in the background you see cocoon in the moonlight

  • dat violin

  • The intro in so amazing. Enormously simplistic but so powerful.

  • @noxie1 it really is

  • @noxie1 JUST the intro is simple. Everything else requires alot of skill to perform and even more to compose ;). Mizuta did a FANTASTIC frickin job on this. My fav track on the entire OST =D!

  • @Arrow9100kj Did I say anything else than intro?

  • I think I might make a retro remix of this in Famitracker. ^_^ Ooh, That'll be fun!

  • This song is beautiful :).

  • personally I didn't like FFXIII only for one point which was that at times (again only at some times) the music was too calming. (I'm not saying they were bad music. they were in fact awesome pieces. I just felt they were kinda too calming and kinda made me sleepy as I played haha)

but FFXIII-2 on the other hand. I have no complaints! :D

  • i don't understand why people hate ff13....its better than the old take turns attacking....story is more interesting....battle system is engaging....soundtrack is top notch......i just don't get why....they have no real reason to hate....

  • @BboyEssences People say FF had gone down hill. But me as a fan for a good amount of years, and played this game, I realized it NEVER went down. They only went into a new generation. I dont know if it refers to games but once you get 'older' you try new things. Thats all that happened to FF. No downhills, just new things. :D

  • @Sanbonita1 It's like... people are becoming the 2 old men in the park. The ones who always complain about how their generation was the best generation.

Sorry some of you people are incapable of enjoying games beyond PS1 days.

  • @BboyEssences Story had a few plot holes imo. Turn based RPGs have always been my favorite RPG, but the new battle system was still fun. Soundtrack for XIII sucked, it put me to sleep in almost every battle i went into, XIII-2 however was a major improvement.

I'm an old school RPG fan, but I welcome the newer RPGs, even though they're a little too easy.

  • I think people need to calm down with the "This isn't a final fantasy, this game sucks" XIII and XIII 2 are fine it's just a step in a different direction and it's still a final fantasy it has an amazing soundtrack and story with strategic gameplay that's kind of what a Final Fantasy is. A role playing game, which is what this is. XIII is my 3rd favorite and it's staying up there until a better game arrives.

  • Love the drums to this piece XD

  • Best game i've played in years !

  • I fucking love the part at 2:56 with the violin and the part on 3:27 to the end

    <3

  • Well, XIII had amazing graphics, and interesting premise, a great battle system, a decent leveling up system, the most awesome protagonist of all time, intense FMVs and a pretty good soundtrack given Uematsu didn't contribute.

XIII-2 is the same. Only the battle system is faster, the leveling up system allows for an extreme amount of customization, the paradigm pack system is awesome, the story for me took a little step back but oh well.

    They are Final Fantasies guys.

  • @GenerationBright Forgot to mention in XIII-2 the maps in my opinion were a lot more fleshed out and funner to traverse. And I didn't want to strangle Hope every time I saw it.

  • @GenerationBright Hope got a lot better as XIII went along, but I agree. For the most part (especially in disc 1), I wanted to just reach into the screen and strangle him.. haha.

  • im planning to get this game tommorow so can anyone tell me if its nice and long like the first or is it short

  • @BB8100able Well i got this on monday and i finished it yesterday, the storyline wise, not sidequests.. But i finished fast because i played nonstop :P. It depends on how you play, if you just go trough it fast following the story it can seem a bit short, but not that short either. If you take your time to explore the towns and all the areas then it can be long, and all the paradox endings makes it long^^

  • I hate call of duty games, and i don't go around on cod videos saying how much i dislike it. If you dont' like a game, don't play it and do something else. Don't bitch and complain on videos and start arguments.

  • @Kirbyluver2 best comment ever!

  • @Kirbyluver2, it's called trolling and the best response is no response at all.

  • @Kirbyluver2 word

  • thank you for uploading this song, been searching for it for a while now.. anyway tnx again!

  • Loved the music in this game! Except for those heavy metal songs...

  • Final Fantasy XIII ---> Final Fantasy XIII-2 ---> Final Fantasy XIII-3???

  • @SteaIthIess play XIII-2 to the end and i mean you will get an answear

  • @Spartarner117 I already beat it.

  • Brings to my mind a classic Final Fantasy feeling from the past series!

  • I LOVE this game! I got it when it first came out and have been playing it. Very nice game, graphics, characters, monsters on your team, etc. I have been a FF fan since I was a little kid and it never stopped! Each one was unique and had their own characters and music to fall in love with. No, I'm not going to bash FF 13-2 or any other one because I can accept change in the series. With that said, auto battle is amazing when you're trying to do homework and play the game. LOL!

  • Love the FF13 battle system.

  • @shortydapimp28 love the battle system too! i just wish xiii-2 bosses had higher difficulties! lol! being "Maxed Out" in xiii made vercingetorix, raktavija, etc. feel almost impossible until you find the right techniques after losing 3-5 times xD

  • @shortydapimp28 For real. I hate the older titles' battle systems, honestly. Like, FFVII for example. I won't bash it though or anything. I just really don't like it, is all I'm saying. You don't have much freedom as you do with FFXIII's battle system, and you definitely don't feel like you need to be on your toes at all times.

  • about the fights with auto battle, and all things in general with this game and in life: Don't like it, dont use it, its not like they force you to.

  • @Sdmsanilover The people who complain about auto-battle must have *really* hated XII's combat system XD

  • PLAY IT VIOLIN MAN!!!

  • Raise your hands if your mind was blown when your realized this song and Noel's theme share a melody!

  • i think ff13-2 is better than ff13

  • i like this part of the game

  • Well said. Default to the Abilities command. The Auto-button, IMO, is demoralizing and makes the battle experience dull. Besides, how many times has the Auto button chosen 'Sparkstrike' for a magically oriented character, or has chosen the wrong buff/debuff for the situatin you're in?

  • @LupheXine Because let's say that the enemy is weak to electricity, and the character in question has thunder, thundara and sparkstrike. The auto-battle option uses Thunder-Sparkstrike-thunder because using thunder 3 times would make the stagger gauge fill slower which in turn isn't what you want/need. If there are more than 1 enemy of the same type near each other the auto option would choose Thunder-thundara because of AoE damage, other than that sparkstrike and thunder all the way!

  • I am aware of the circumstances. I don't approve of having my battles fought for me. If you know how your moves are laid out, you can do that more efficiently by yourself.

That is why some people complain that this game plays itself. It's similar to using poison/death to defeat powerful enemies like Neochu from XIII or Yomi from XIII-2. It's more exciting with abilities and strategy, not auto battle and stall w/broken attacks. Limit breaks cannot be chosen in Auto battle either.

  • @LupheXine Yes, I was not defending auto-battle, I was just saying that it doesn't make bad choices all the time. I prefer to battle by myself because most of the time as a medic or sab/syn you need to choose for yourself or the game will mess up. And of course Full ATB skills are very useful and auto-battle never chooses them..

  • Hm yep. The AI really reeeeally likes Wound, hah.

Nonetheless, super game, unforgettable track (that's all mine thanks to the collector's edition) and looking forward to recruiting my fav character Sazh in the upcoming DLC.

  • Beautiful.....

  • I think this is called "Run" but whatevs. xD

  • Isn't this called "Run"? o_o

  • @momygirl99 Dash=synonym of run. Same shit :)

  • @gorboy Run suits the track better than Dash does, I don't know why. xD

  • Okay, so Dash overrides the battle music in Bresha Ruins 300AF but the regular battle theme plays elsewhere. I wonder why. o.o

  • this is noel's theme remixed

  • y no one rly classes any ff past x-2 as an ff but this one is an exception in my opinion loved the storyline, battle system is the same as xiii and i didn't rly like it that much except capturing monsters that was a nice touch, happy as hell they added the chocobo races the classics are always the best :P, so overall great game

  • this isnt the battle theme, well it is in new bodhum 3af, but last hunter IS the battle theme

  • Wow, I gotta say I'm not a fan of any FF after X-2 but this track is amazing. Honestly if it were not for the battle system in this game then I would be all over this.

  • you haters are fuckin' stupid hahahahahahaha

  • Love this theme. I use the shit outta the aero spells for Noel. Cuz i like dat wind.

  • I like everything about 2:27 on

  • masturbastion...nice video btw

  • Final Fantasy XIII-3? Could happen....

  • @GreySparkGaming

Here's hoping. I liked the characters in XIII-2 than I did in XIII.

  • @mariotaz Its not happening... its DLC instead which sucks ballz

  • is it just me or does this song have a polyrhythm going on.

  • FINALLY FOUND YOUUU!!

  • @UnorthodoxedRibena Agreed n_n I'm also searching for this song and finally, found it!!! I love this theme <3

  • I like it, but it doesn't has the "FF feeling", it reminds me to a lot of other J-RPGs, but no FF.

  • @ddensu I know where you come from. I loved XIII-2 but it really didn't feel as a FF game. Then again, nowadays, what game does? Versus XIII certainly won't, I'm afraid =/

  • @ddensu Sounds like you can't accept FF has moved on -_-

  • @GreySparkGaming Moved on? Hahahahaha

You think FFXIII/-2 is "the evolution" in FF (or J-RPG's)?

    I laugh at that.

  • @ddensu Its not completely wrong - we have seen SquareEnix trying out different systems throughout - if you recall earlier trailers of FFXIII, they had cinematic cutscenes which looked like a battle system. That concept never did show in FFXIII, but it is there now in FFXIII-2. I wouldn't say its the end product of an "evolution" but certainly the process of an "evolution".

  • @Sainare You dont make a battle system based on how pretty it looks

FFXIII battle system is essentially an Active Time Battle System-version of the Persona 3 one (I don't think Persona 3 it's the first in using it though), with "Leaders" (if leader dies you lose) and automatic party members.

There is nothing new in the battle system, I almost beat FFXIII just pressing X all the time, and that's lame

FFXIII-2 is a huge improvement (I like it), but I don't see it as a process of an "evolution"

    IMO

  • @ddensu someone used auto-battle too much.... it's better to put in the commands yourself, trust me

  • @Sainare But don’t get me wrong: FFXIII is a good and well-presented piece of entertainment, but it’s hard to defend its claim as a role-playing game when the biggest kind of exploration you do is backtrack a linear dungeon just to kill respawned enemies, or just explore what seemed to be the game’s overworld until you realize that it’s just one huge, goddamn circular map.

  • @ddensu You're not getting my point but rather saying your opinions about FFXIII - which I agree with you completely about the linear gameplay but not the battle system. I don't think the stagger system was ever implemented in the previous titles.

But getting back to my original point, all FF games are the process of development for the next game - because even in SquareEnix's long term plan the final Final Fantasy does not exist.

  • Goddamn I love that drum solo.

  • I think FFXIII-2 is the best one challenge wise because it makes you think more then all the other ones did. FFXIII was good too because it makes the player level up all the characters. The main problem with the older games there's no reason to use the other characters once you get to a certain point of the game. So I'm glad they changed the battle system for FFXIII.

  • @1121Angel06

Yeah but it was never about that. I also used only 3 characters in FF13 and in each FF ever since the 1st one. I always have my favorite characters in the party and usually don't use others a lot. And from what I figured many people do it this way.

  • @ChakaZoltan lolno.

Most of the people I know always level up every character.

I always do that, in order to have everything in "max" da game (That's probably why I have over 100 hours in every RPG i play, lolk)

  • @ChakaZoltan I have my favorites too in the older FF games but what I was trying to say is that, the older games lack any reason to keep every character balanced. Take FFX for an example: Lulu was extremely valuable in the beginning but lost that value very early on. For the games before that the characters were all able to use the same abilities so, it was easy to pick favorites. FFXIII for the most part fixed that.

  • @1121Angel06 13 didn't fix that. The sentinel class was useless in the game. 13-2 did a better job with it.

  • and people were saying the new Final Fantasy games didn't have any iconic tracks!? songs like this one, and Blinded by Light are definitely going to pass the test of time.

  • @blancmage31 Don't forget Saber's Edge!

  • @blancmage31 Even the folks who hated FF XIII's gameplay or story had to concede that its ost was amazing. Same thing with XIII-2.

  • I have nothing against people having different opinions, I personaly have liked every single game in the series bar the mmo's which i havnt played. but people need to stop bashing these games to the ground just because they dont like them. Just because you dont like something it doesnt automatically make it bad. 13 and 13-2 were both good games

I'd like to see more "wasnt the game for me" type comments, and less out and out bashing of a perfectly good game.

  • @BigK42O Personally, I prefer the classic style games (FFIX is my favourite of every FF), but I did like XIII and XIII-2, they're good, but they're different. And I think most old FF fans just can't accept the change, I mean, they're allowed to dislike the changes, but to say that FF is doomed is pretty silly.

  • @BigK42O true, but unfortunately we live in the real world.

  • @BigK42O what did u like about 13?

  • @BigK42O Amen to that! Just cuz people don't like one FF or another does NOT give them the damn right to smash other FFs.

  • @BigK42O Many a fandom, game or otherwise, appreciates comments of the type you speak of. Thumbs up to 30!

  • What a lovely intro. :D

  • Guys, I have a proposition for you.

Shut up, and listen to the damn music.

  • i feel like with every ff that comes out there is even greater music, i cant say one ff's music is better than another because each ff is a step closer to the greatest vgm of all

  • Never really enjoyed an FF game outside of IV, VI and Tactics Advance. Just picked up XIII-2 and I'm loving it so far. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks in the game. It's just so energetic, jazzy and happy.

  • the reason people say it sucks balls because its not a first person shooter were it takes 2 hits to kill someone. In FF games you need to use your mind think of out comes make plans you cant just run into battle like your a god. no you need buffs weapons. so most these people who say this game sucks its because they cant beat the first boss or they are first person shooter fan boys who need to learn what a real game is.... so yeah there you go... anyway love the game!!

  • @TheUnforgivenOnline Really, no. It's because they're not as good as the previous installments in the series, though I wouldn't call them terrible either. And really, I don't know about this one but FFXIII was far from being difficult, it doesn't even compare to the Shin Megami Tensei series difficulty-wise for instance.

  • @Noreillay

um, how can you even compare that game to final fantasy? 100% different gameplay so you can't compare the difficulty. ff13 had so really frustrating moments, but you could start right back where you died so it was tedious to keep trying.

  • @Kirbyluver2 FFXIII and FFXIII-2 both kinda take inspiration from SMT with the whole deal of facing a game over if the main character dies in XIII and the monster system in XIII-2. And I really don't see why you can't compare the difficulty of two different games, especially when they are both JRPG which require some strategy to survive. The only really frustrating moment I remember in FFXIII was the battle against Alexander but i though it was pretty neat at the same time.

  • @Noreillay

i am probably thinking of a different game than you mentioned, sorry about that. But the difficulty in 13 really depends on how you build your main party, certain bosses will be more challenging than others based on the choices you made. For me, bahamut ripped me to shreds in seconds because i hadn't used fang or vanille too much.

  • This song is so groovy and jazzy. And is it just me or are there some poly rhythms here.

  • The game may sucks balls, but the music is awesome. Can't deny that.

  • Everything changes with time, even games. Just because you guys grow older, doesn't mean the games have to be like that.

Im about 25 hours in FFXIII-2 and I'm amazed of what they made of it. The story's very intriguing (Way more behind it than just saving someone) and the gameplay is just fun. The auto-battle button is there for a reason, because you need to act quickly .. Same for changing paradigms, you'll have to change them constantly, else you'll just lose.

  • Awesome Song xD

  • I just got the OST, and the sountrack listing directory lists this song as "Full Speed Ahead." "Dash" may be an alternative translation of it, but it should be duly noted that the "official" English title is "Full Speed Ahead."

  • God this song is epic. xD

  • STOP DISLIKING THINGS THat I LIKE! lol jk

nah really. this is one of my favorite songs on the soundtrack. that, and paradigm shift.

    thanks for the vidpost

  • Has anyone else noticed that this is totally a remix of the original Final Fantasy's battle theme?

    Listen to the notes.

  • @aftersatisfaction It is? Neat.

  • definitely like.

  • this is so going on my Mp3

  • From a game developer's standpoint, ff13 was meant to challenge the creative limits of the franchise, something I can respect. Though, the reason I believe the series sees its toppling, soon, is because people want a more human story. Ever since ff7, taking out ff12 (I found it to be intelligent), it was hard to relate to the characters as they weren't, human. Gamers are seeing the medium become more of an art thus is why there is such backlash to the series, now... It's the gamers that changed.

  • Roooo c'est pas le vrai thème T_T

  • Everyone shut up and enjoy the music!

  • @TekGriever

The battles aren't about the actions you do, but WHEN you do them. To survive in battle and get the chain gauge up, you need to time your actions well with the team. You can get by some battles by mashing auto, but the challenging enemies and bosses require absolute timing and execution. Relying on auto command for those battles can be both good and bad, good because your timing will be precise, but bad because they may not be the commands you want. Until you master the battle UI,

  • Auto battle buttons ruined anything related to 13. But i still find hope in the music.

  • @TekGriever Square Enix offers you the liberty to chose your actions and to act quickly during a battle if you need this. People should stop criticizing this great system. Stop using the auto command, use your skills manually, this is the best way to enjoy the fight.

It's funny because, if you just put one action, players won't like because they are hindered, if you offer them choices, they'll say this is shit because they always act the easy way. I don't really get it.

  • @Kikart hur dur VII never had a auto battle system therefore every FF game that does officially blows.

In all seriousness I highly agree with you

  • @TekGriever Change the damn options Kai.

  • @TekGriever I found Hope in Yaschas Massif 10 and 1X

  • FF13 is an amazing game.

  • Final Fantasy never ceases to amaze me, even if almost everyone utterly disliked the first FF13

I'm jizzing myself to no ends and I've only just entered historia crux for the first time!

This just keeps getting better and better ^_^

  • Wow, I can't even find a single SONG from the game without seeing people arguing. Here's the thing people. EVERYONE LIKES DIFFERENT THINGS!!!! Stop forcing opinions on each other! Be quiet, go ENJOY what you DO like, and just get on with it!

  • @MakoChanx Word.

  • @MakoChanx Keep all your opinions inside of you, huh? I guess we don't need this comment box then, do we? We should all become unsocial induviduals, lets demand youtube to eradicate this nonsense called "commenting". It's not to force opinions, it's just to express them. It's ironic, cause you're the one forcing. You're telling everyone to not discuss their opinions, to keep them inside. You're the irony, and you're the hipocrisy. You're not respected.

  • Comment removed

  • @MakoChanx To believe Something or Someone is wrong is opinion. Telling people to shut up isn't an opinion, you prick.

  • @MakoChanx You really put the words right out of my mouth. Thanks I wanted someone to say this for ages. :)

  • A great mix of guitar riffs, solos and seeming improvisational chaos that nicely fades back into the main melody again. Fun, surprising and most of all attention-grabbing.

  • @Gmanweapon well put :)

  • Yeah it is a big step from the sound in 13-1. Its sorta like sonic the hedgehog how the music style drastically changed from the 2d days and at the beginning of the style change it sounded weird but they progressed in that style to a point where we like it now. We still love the old but just bring new things so we can progress and make something new. I have no problem with this song whatsoever :)

  • 2:26 to 3:05 is tooo good

  • just got a purple chocobo this ,music was playin, its a snowy place

  • @komujimaru Bresha Ruins, 300 AF?

  • I dont know wtf yall arguin' about but uhh... this song trumps all opinions.

  • @dash257 eeeh, I'm not feeling this one honestly. It's not bad, but its not the best either.

  • love this game even tho i just started playing it!! ><

  • @jrconjux me too xD!!

  • I love Final Fantasy but.. but god I haven't played a good Final Fantasy game since 10.. Played the first ff 13... i had to force myself to beat it.... thats a bad thing.

  • *these*

  • i don't know about the rest of you but i love there new soundtracks

  • Whatever this track was good in Bresha AF300. Probably one of my favorite tracks in the game, and Bresha Rap wasn't even in NA. And Colliding Worlds wasn't played that much. Whatever, this will have to do.

  • I personally don't care whether or not final fantasy is taken in new directions so long as those new directions are still good in their own right FFXIII and XIII-2 were not. Please excuse me while I wait for ff versus XIII and type-0 as the seem to be the only ones truly keeping the spirit of final fantasy alive.

  • this song is madness... day after day I play with the drum but it's hard to learn ahahahah

  • Believe it or not i actually feel like im listening to something from star ocean sounds very well done and even as a classic FF Fan I have to say its a Nice edition to the series. Still miss the victory fan fare tho LOL

  • Call me weird but the guitar part at the beginning reminds me of Careless Whisper...

  • This just grew on me realllly fast!! Like a speed of lightning! get it?? hah

  • this is a good song kinda reminds me of Crisis Core i dunno why..

  • Wow this is a sped up version of Noel's theme.

  • the correct name of the song is Full speed Ahead i have the collectors edition so i hav the 4 disc soundtrack xD

  • ill think i'll return to snowy Bresha ruins from time to time so i can grind some monster crystals while this plays on surround, awesome :D
