  • It's obvious they didn't have the story yet, but am I the only one who would love to play through this original concept of the game.

  • Thank god this isn't the published version! It looks so awful... except of the music. :D

  • I can't believe it... *sigh*

  • There's now way that was rendered real time, that was too realistic.

But at least we know why Apple didn't buy them, because Steve Jobs hates violence. But more importantly, he hates games.

  • haha apple had a fucking nightmare

  • EPIC FAIL Apple...

  • The graphics have dated, but Marty O'Donnell's music is timeless.

  • 10 years as of TODAY!

  • man, that looks insane considering it was shown in '99

  • if they were able to make this in '99 why did graphics suck so bad in '93?

  • They didn't suck in '93. When Doom came out the graphics were considered to be quite amazing. I remember how floored I was when I first bought Doom back then.

  • so you played it when you were 9? kinda early dont you think?

  • yes, awesome graphics.

  • Multiple spartans. :) I wish that Bungie would have had other spartans like Fred in the game as well. Heh, Halo was and still is kick ass, though.

  • now this is the way the world started =D

  • I prefer macs, use one, and am still glad microsoft bought bungie. halo would NEVER be even close to as big as it is now if it had been released for mac. plus i prefer to compute on my computers, and game on my game systems anyways.

  • its better than that counterstrike shit

  • its better than your face

  • FUCK

  • Nice, I've seen that exact phrase repeated around (approximately) 1,345,356,435 times. I have something to say to you. No one cares about you. And if you want some attention, come up with something new.

  • Wow. Bungie is probably the best purchase Microsoft ever made.

  • Stop and look at the video date. Did anybody else notice that?

  • mac isnt really that good no offence

  • I'm not a mac user, i'm a mac hater.

  • theyre plenty good

as long as you dont want to play games on them

  • true

  • @RLtW88 Or anything of actual use.

  • I wish they had released a beta, wouldve been great :) OS9 is by far one of the best Macs ever, and they wouldve released it for OSX eventually

  • Jason Jones is god. Nuff' said.

  • It was going to be 3rd person... but they said it ended up being a "frag-grenade juggling fest" (Halo 2 CE Documentary) so they switched.

  • lol bungie flag at end.. lol

  • Originally some people were under the belief that Halo was going to be 3rd person and it was going to be an online combat game similar to Unreal Tournament.

  • It was.

  • Actually it was going to be more like Battlefield. You would be able to fly all over the ring capturing bases.

  • uh guys this was made befre halo:combat evolved was made

  • What the hell is that supposed to mean? This is what lead to Combat Evolved. The precursor if you will.

  • yes i know thats what i was sayin

  • Can beat a good book!

  • So what's the story here? What made Bungie switch to the Xbox platform all of a sudden?

  • Haha, Bungie getting bought out my Microsoft :)

  • geez. that's really sad. Seems like a paradox to me, the only way to make the Mac platform any good for gaming is to have companies actually release games for it, but companies won't unless there are gamers using macs.

I remember the good old days of Tomb Raider on the PowerPC.

  • Rfaulder, you took the words right outta my mouth!

  • ...And essentialy fucked macintosh in the ass.

  • They really like it when that happens.

  • bought by microsoft

  • Microsoft bought Bungie and forced them to put the game on Xbox

  • I don't think Bungie was doing all that great financially. Microsoft offered to buy them out for a huge sum, and part of the deal was porting the game over to Xbox.

  • @datooie actually, Microsoft first intended to buy halo just for the xbox, but according to Tuncer Deniz, A producer from Bungie, Bungie wanted to sell the company, after being turned down by Steve Jobs. Eventually Microsoft bought Bungie.
