I use my homemade dishwasher stuff to clean my ceramic stove top. Works better than the expensive creme stuff. Just sprinkle on and add some water to make a paste. I cup washing soda, 1 cup borax, 1/4 c coarse kosher salt, I/4 c citric acid or a lemon flavored koolaid pk without the sugar. Use 1 T for the dishwasher or use to clean your oven or stove top. Finish with vinegar and water to get the residue off and create a shine.
@christy406 it should work, unless youre not using enough baking soda, sometimes you have to re-apply, depends on how bad your stove is and you have to repeatedly wet it, and wait for it to dry....i cant understand why it wouldnt work for you, keep trying...
@christy406 hold on...you said you made a paste...try sprinkling the soda on dry over the grease...then wet it down..that might be the problem...good luck
Surprisingly for me, it's not the job itself (really dont mind it that much) but it's the chemicals that are used. Not only do they take my breath away, i think you all know what i mean lol.. but they are horribly bad for my african gray parrot. Soooo tonight baking soda is going in the oven!
What a cute lady...and wonderful couple. I am a bachelor and have no idea how to clean, and I hate using chemicals, so you really helped me a lot with your video. Thank you very much :-)
Fantastic job of cleaning the oven with the baking soda.! Its also good for cleaning the shelves of the fridge/freezer as well. You could add a foil oven liner to help catch messy spills & overall mess. They sell them here at the Dollar Stores along with great spray bottles, nylon scouring pads that dont scratch. I have recently begun using baking soda to brush my teeth (better than toothpaste) & as an underarm deodorant....its MUCH better than the commercial stuff. Thks for a great vid.
@mukwah1111 P.S. If you have a fireplace or pit try soaking some pine cones in a solution of water & baking soda (not a lot of soda) then let them dry totally. Toss a few into your fireplace or fire pit and watch little coloured twinkly lights come out in the fire. Its really neat !
@mukwah1111 wish i had a fireplace, I am lucky to have heat. Hey, why don't u come check out my new channel Dawn Cherryful I have a cute video on the partial solar eclipse and liver cleanse flush
Thanks heaps for an instructional video on how to clean a oven without being overpowered by oven spray. A job that I despise and I love how down to earth you were in presenting this. If you have anymore cleaning tips, I 'd love to watch them. Cheers from down under Australia.
@sweetdivineable thanks. we dislike chemical cleaners, they are expensive, smelly, and toxic...we are considering doing some other all-natural vids this year and helping people learn how to avoid toxins in their lives...we have found ways to wash clothes, dishes, showers, and even our bodies without the use of commercial chemicals...coming soon, thanks for watching. If you want some other tips, send a PM, we will answer. cheers J
thanks! we all have to make the mundane entertaining i think, it's a keep your chin up time in the world:) it's funny cause i have more hits on this video than on some of my singing videos. guess people would rather clean their ovens than have fun. sad. lol...peace...sheree
Im not even sure what to say to that comment...uh hmmm. uh , you'd probably understand what she meant if you were to see 'my' garage...someday, if i can get in there.....yahahahaha

I wonder, if you sprayed your oven with vinegar instead of water, would that eliminate the hours of waiting until you wiped it off?

This video is really helpful. I made the paste and applied it all over my oven already. Cant wait till tomorrow to see how it worked! Thanks!
