That is NOT biomimicry. Spiders use PHYSICS (i.e. pressure and moisture) to give silk the qualities they want, not milk-genes. What is this joke? Hasn't the manipulation of genes caused enough damage on the global scale? Aside from the hormones in our milk and carcinogens in our vegetation, this is affecting biodiversity on a much larger scale. what can they do? if honey bees are dying, they can't stop it. Think how impractial it would be to invent a machine to pollinate flowers, it's impossible and the closest thing they have would not be cost effective at all. an apple would cost a fortune. you can't just clone fruit, and again, think of how expensive it would be even small scale. Simple experiments cost thousands of dollars, trust me. you can expect a change.

You may say that that it is unethical to conduct such research, but as shown in the video, the goats' behaviour is the same as a "natural" goat. think of what could be achieved by genetic engineering. crops that grow in the harshest of enviorments, and that become a fully grown plant in a matter of hours.

No, the goats are not the same. The goats produce silk, which is unnatural behavior. We also don't have the right to mutate genes and organisms because we think their lives are our playground. They aren't. It is unethical. Genetic engineering only achieves scientific fascism and eventually, again, eugenics. Life doesn't work when its "sped up" - time and development are essential to life's make-up, stamina, durability and longevity. You do not have the right to mutate life.
