  • my brother had the same problem about the guestlist but he and his bride went to a different, cheaper food place and didnt have to cut the guest list. hope that helps! this is so exciting!!! i love these videos! :D

  • my parent's wedding was great i want to relive that day and it was so fast to plan my parents had time they had da wedding at my auntie's hause. it was kinda easy

  • are you using the l'oreal beyonce red lipstick? its really red i like it ((:

  • Go to Oahu , Hawaii , Honolulu ! Its beautiful & do a meet & greet Judy ! (=

  • Aww so happy for yu guys :)

  • About trimming your guest list, how about having a laid-back, get-together event/party for family and friends after the honeymoon? That way, for those relatives who couldn't come to wedding, they can find out first-hand from you and Benji all about the wedding and honeymoon. My sisters did this when they had to trim the guest lists too. =)

  • my boyfriend and i are going to get married in 2 years in the court when im of age :)

so in total for our "wedding" we have 4 years...so hopefully we can save enough for our HUGE family/friend wedding.

  • a couple of weddings ive been to they had an open ceremony but they set a certain amount of seats for the reception and the guests had to rsvp a head of time and they didnt allow children to the party.

  • I had the bride's instruction manual (in french bec I'm from belgium) and it is very funny! And some of the tips are really helpfull!

For the gests, I invited all our family and closest friends at the dinner, it was like 45 euros and then I had like 230 guest at the party at night... Can you do that un the USA? Bec. in Belgium, it is something that you do...

  • love the red lips and makeup on you! tutorial on other channel?? ps. congrats on the engagement!

  • Hey i am so happy for you... Just move it to Philippines ;-)

as for me,,,.. it is pretty sure where i am going to marry... in the Philippines...

in Germany it would be very expensive.. and the most relatives are in pinas...

anyways... i am sure you´re planning good your wedding... ^_^hope we can see some pics or some video shots of the wedding

  • Hey Judy, I helped my best friend plan her wedding back in Europe and do you have the same format in the States where you can also invite guests just to the party in the evening (after the meal)? That way you can invite everybody yet not have to pay for them all lol! xx

  • @clicklipstick good idea and you'll yet get gifts

  • omg i can't believe you're getting married!! xD

  • its always exciting and exhausting when it comes to planning the wedding i just did mine n phew im glad everything went the way i planned with out my cousins help i wouldn't of pulled together the best wedding i could think of :)

but keep patients and go with both ur choices :) everything will be worth it at the end

  • I made my own invitations, you can buy the "card" stock at any craft store, I printed them out on my home computer and I had a girlfriend comeover one night and we attached bows and sprayed them with glitter, BAM beautiful invitation. What would cost you hundreds cost me fifty total.

  • Enjoy every moment of this, it's going to be by so fast! And let Benji help and decide on stuff, it's pretty fun to see what they come up with.

We decided that our friends and family were more important then having a big formal wedding. We cut down our 3 course meal to a buffet. We also went really simple with decorations. Also remember that at least 1/4 of your guest list won't make it.

Check out Cinderellas Closet in Edmonds, it is the cutest little shop with an amazing staff and dresses!

  • U should come to FINLAND on your honeymoon!;) It's tropical but in a different way!

  • Is 4 yrs too early to plan your wedding?? lol

  • luv the eye looks, judy!! wish you all the best and thank you for updating... how excitinggg!!!!

  • i wish you all the best and good luck. Its so exciting :)

  • the way i cut my guest is is by cutting out children so that eliminated people who couldnt get someone to watch their children..sounds harsh but it also prevents alot of running children knocking things down lol

  • @santanal1 Don't forget that children also talk and cry during the reception!! i just went to a friend's wedding 2 weeks ago and, boy oh boy, there was a crying baby while the father of the bride was making a speech!! i was annoyed...just imagine how irritated the bride and groom were!!

  • My cousin got married last week and he stated that only adults were allowed in their reception. That made a lot of people not go because they had children.

Another thing he did was that he set up the wedding for a friday. Many people were busy working that they were not able to make it so his rsvp was a bit low and he paid i believe 40 dollars a plate which is still expensive, I think. Many people cook themselves or have family memebers cook that way you only pay for service

  • Thanks for the update! good luck!! : )

  • hope everything woks out for you, my cousins got married she saved money by shopping at David's bridal, for the whole wedding party, check out the website.

  • it's so exiting to follow your "wedding process" or how you would say it :b

please post a lot more of those videos with your dress, hair and make-up - and i'm so courious to know where your going on your honeymoon, so please tell that too :D

  • I don't know about cutting the wedding list. Mine was huuuuuuuge with 800 people. Lol!

  • Oh..you look adorable with red lipstick, honey. Have fun planning your wedding. I remember my wedding.....I had so much fun. The checklist thing really does help....otherwise, you're going to be all over the place. Trust me on that note!

  • did you say ate?? :) filipina?

  • @SuperNix00 yeah she is =)

  • My sister got married 2 years ago, she wanted 300 people we do have a huge family, but everybody wants to go to the wedding (including friends), what i fully recommended to do is to think about people that was with you in the good and bad moments, which people you can't do a wedding without and people that you don't think they may be important for you and your fiance to be, like friends you haven't see in a while and stuff like that, my sister ended up with a 180 people wedding. good luck :)

  • love the update...i wonder if i can wear red lipstick. not all can wear it. but it looks super good on you :) what are the many pictures you have on your lil tag board behind you? would love to see what they are.

  • Judy! congrats again! And what lipstick r u wearing its the most gorgeous red ever!

  • here in Croatia, price per person is 45-50 €, and our average month salary is 500 €. I'm not so happy bride!

  • I LOVE your hair and makeup!!! Bella!

  • Guests....friends who are true to me and closest family members.

  • Our wedding is next September.. It's really hard to cut the guest list.. However, our venue only allows us to have a max of 290 guests with no dance floor. We have to take out at least 5 tables to get our dance floor. We limited it to friends who invited us to their weddings and friends that we still keep in touch with. As for family, we left that up to our parents to work out...

  • judy, are you going to do your own makeup?

  • Go to the Seattle Wedding Show January 8 & 9th!!!!!!!!!

  • when I got married it was VERY STRESSFUL to cut the guest list however if you haven't talked to people in the last 6 months they don't make the list! :(

Good Luck Judy! It is ALLLLLLL worth it in the end even if it's just for ONE day :)

    xox

  • right around the corner? 9 months seems like loooooong way away to me lol:)

  • @MissGloria95 weddings take so long to plan, 9 months is about average

  • @aaaaammmmmyyyyyy omg-i could never wait that long haha-but how can it take thaat much time?

  • aww I cant believe it, Im soo happy for you!

  • I'm so happy for you! :)

  • your teeth are super super duper white!! im jealous

  • Just a thing Judy : You don't need all those books! You need just all your heart, love and.... fantasy! :-) A lot of happyness!!!!

  • You're soooo sweet! july ? what day? ! I'm gonna marry on July too, on the 12, and I started organize all 1 year ago! ! Best wishes from Italy!

  • are you going to be doing your own makeup? :)

  • i live in toronto.. for a typical wedding in for my family was 100 per person... im gettin married in june.... but in costa rica. way cheaper less stress

  • Oooh i love your makeup!! :)

  • judyyyyy you're rocking the red lips so well, hot mama haha <3

  • Why is it that all you american girls want to get married?? To me it sounds like an endstation in life for you all... I just dont get it.

  • you're beautiful! :D

  • $45 per head seems pretty average. .I live in florida and got married 2 years ago and we paid about $42-$45 per head.. Make sure to invite only the people that you know will come to the wedding.. the worst feeling is to see empty seats at your reception! I had a big filipino wedding and we had about 225 guests which was very pricey so we put a cap on the bar which saved us a lot of money and everyone was still able to drink! Good luck planning.. it'll all be worth it in the end :)

  • I had to cut my guest list quite a bit. The final count was 300!! What we did was all our family and close , close friends we invited to the wedding and reception and then we invited everyone and I mean everyone to the dance so they all can be a part of our wedding.

  • best wishes for the day

a video on special skin care for THE BIG DAY!!!

  • awe you must be so excited :D

  • Our wedding anniversary is Aug 25. :)

  • @MissPebbles212 that's my birthday. LOL. haha

  • $45 per person for food?? That sounds like way to much. But goodluck with the planning! :)

  • Congrats! I am so happy for you! I just got married a year ago an it was sooo hard we wanted a big wedding also and when we saw the prices on the plates we were like oh no from 280 we went to 150 it was just too expensive and were so sad because we didn't want people to get mad at us for not inviting them but they need to understand it's hard. So what I did is a wrote a card to everyone I wasn't able to invite saying why I wasn't going to invite them and they all responded very positive and the

  • costa rica!<3

  • cn u make a vid of your weding dresss shopping i think ppl wuld wanna c tht

  • you should definitely check out MOON PALACE in Dominican Republic it's a great honey-moon resort

  • Hey girlie

My family is mexican so what we did so we wont have to cut anybody becuz us mexicans love partys we decided to ask familys memebers to help anbd in return they will put on the inviation as to what they brought and stuff. like we each had on efamily memeber help us buy something like the cake, my aunt did that and the muci my uncle paid that so thats what we did the only thing we paid for out wedding was bridal gifts!! thats it it was a mazing how how familys helped us

    - Andreaa!

  • I got married 2 years ago and I had to cut my list just keep it close family... like if you have a far far cousin or uncle that haven't talked to in years then i just decided not to invite them cause if i haven't seen them for that long you probably wont see them after the wedding and most likely won't come to the wedding. Someone told me that if you haven't talked to them in 6 months then they are probably not close relatives and you know its actually very true. Have fun planing it!!

  • I recommend the Knot Wedding List of Lists (or something like that) - not only is it a checklist of what you need to do, but it also has a list of questions and things to do when you meet with vendors (like what to ask the photographer, what contracts should also include). It's been the most useful thing so far!

  • Your cousin lives in Germany ? Haha Me too xd I'm so happy for you.

  • so happy for U both Judy and learning from my wedding experience make sure u do not stress too much don't want to end up like "bridezillas" lol but I know U seem too nice to ever be like them...just take the plans day by day and it will all work out also a suggestion if it's possible try to include all of ur family and close friends if there is a will there is a way usually at happy events occurring others can get there feelings hurt when others may tell how great it was and so on & so forth!

  • $45 dollars per person is actually REALLY cheap. My wedding is next July and the venue we picked is $82 per person and that is actually cheap compared to other places we checked out. Weddings = NOT CHEAP lol!

  • u look gorgeous in this video! i love ur hair and shirt and make up and lip stick! So exciting to see everything come together for the wedding! Cant wait to see u guys all dressed up :D

  • I got married in the Middle East n we have huge weddings, I had a fairly small wedding compared to the weddings over there but a big one compared to weddings here. I cut my guest list n people were very offended. ur not going to please everyone, there's bound to be an upset guest, lol Just remember it's ur day n u can do whatever u want. It's one day that flies by n just remember don't stress out!!! When things get out of hand with planning, take a break n breath! <3

  • Aww Gold and White thats soo pretty! (:

  • Aww, is your cousin from Germany? (:

  • awe congrats sweety!!! i agree with r4e4y4a4, goodluck and be creative!!!! =)

  • family is everything :) trust me judy, get creative and remember you don't need to follow a book to have the wedding of YOUR dreams ;)

  • most families here in hawaii especially filipinos' actually have a lot of their family members & friends help prepare the foods for parties. we have huge parties with 300+ people :) my mom is a chef and she and 10 other people prepared all the food for my grad party which there was 300+ people in attendance. we had mahi mahi, shrimp alfredo, prime rib, shoyu fried chicken, salads, rice and a bunch of other stuff. it was way cheaper and everyone loves getting involved for such a great celebration

  • Oh! By the way, I got my flowers done at COSTCO! Yes, Costco (being Filipino, something had to come from there, right?). The person who did the bouquets there also did weddings. My flowers were gorgeous for hundreds of dollars less than a normal florist, and she was way more flexible and willing to negotiate prices. The only downside is you will have to have someone pick them up instead of getting them delivered. Definitely look into it though :)

  • More easier? More Easy.

  • Please show us a tutorial on your makeup for this one!!! And please do a vid when you do your makeup and hair! AWHHHH! How exciting!

  • how about a honeymoon in germany????? itss really beutifull over hereee in summerr but it depends on which city you will stay

  • my fiance and i are also planning to having our wedding on august 2011. we got engaged this past july :]

  • my older sister has been engaged for almost a year now, she has postponed her wedding about 2 times. She got engaged on christmas eve, then wanted her wedding the next august. that didnt happen. and now she wants it this January but she has yet to do anything. The only thing she has is her dress. I think I need to go out and buy her that book with the checklist b/c she is just procrastinating like crazy!

  • FYI.... Some places you can have more people as invited guest and can have a limited amount of people for people that are actually going to be on time to eat. that's what we did for my sisters wedding. 200 eating guests and 500 total invited

  • i didn't even invite the estranged part of my family to our wedding! they were upset, but like you said weddings are expensive and if I haven't talked to you or seen you in over 7 years why should I invite you? ya know? just be careful who you cut because people will get angry! btw congrats!

  • Comment removed

  • Honeymoon is Australiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • you don't have a budget? you mean, you don't have one established?

  • now that you two are getting married, is Benji's brother going to move out?

  • im so happy for u!!!!!!!!!!

  • congratulations, i planned mine in three months and it wasn't easy, it was a small wedding of 70 people, we only invited close friends and close family, the list was supposed to be of 200, as you can see we cut a lot, lol, anyway its stressful but you will enjoy it, good luck

  • I am so happy for you. This must all be so very exciting.

  • your teeth look soo white!!!

  • I love that you're taking us on this journey with you, I'm learning along too.

Best of luck, girl, and congrats to the both of you! =D

    <3 <3 <3

PS Maybe some people can attend the ceremony part, and even fewer can attend the reception?? Ek, I don't know but please let us know what you plan on doing and how.

    Thanks!

  • you should come to hawaii for your honeymoon

  • i cant get over how beautiful you are! please do a make up tutorial of this look

i have almost the same complexion as you and dark brown hair

i'm so happy for You and Benji!

I can't wait until I find a sweet guy that would be so sweet like your benji!

    thumbs up for good guys!

  • But don't forget, it is YOUR wedding. Not the guests wedding. So don't let that get to you.

    Congratulations, yet again!

I'm looking forward to more wedding planning videos =)

  • Then the reception is the NEXT day. Its so much work Judy! I can totally relate, even though I'm not even getting married!

I think the most important part for keeping your guests happy, is the food. You need to have good food. and a good DJ. I've been to tons and tons of weddings (indian weddings) and the thing I remember is food and the music. Did I have fun?

Although it may be different for you, try thinking about what you remember the most about a past wedding.

  • Weddings are so stressful! I'm only 19, but we are planning my sister's wedding. Let me tell ya, an Indian wedding is EXTREMELY stressful. We counted, 300 family members alone, so the total guest list is going to be twice that, or even more.

The thing is though, for Indian weddings, not everyone whose invited shows up.. but out of respect we have to invite them? Anyways, the wedding celebration starts 5 days in advance. So we have to feed guests for about 6 days.

  • haha... I already got my own big binder that I started for one of my homegirls. teehee.... I love wedding stuff! My boyfriend's older sister got married and did all that within a month of being engaged... lol. that was so crazy but she got it all together quite nicely. can save on renting dresses for the bridesmaid if you're paying for their dresses and such.

  • i love how you're taking us along with you and your plans!

it really is like watching you grow up... i couldn't be any more excited for you!!!!!!!

you're going to be such a gorgeous bride. makes me shed a tear* hehe

  • awwe, i still cant believe u are getting married!! im soo happy for u!!

  • Judy!! You could see the pissiblity of coming to my country for the hiney moon, Colombia!

We have some amazin beaches, great hotels great food, and tropical weather, i think you'll enjoy it a lot!!

i recommend you to come to Cartagena wich is really romantic and has a lot of history within the city itself.

I wish you all the very best, and can't wait to see more updates :)

    Good Luck

  • Judy, you could cut costs on food if you do the buffet style dinner. I know some may look down on that but in the end everyone's fed and they'll forget all about the food once the dancing starts! Good luck on the wedding planing..

  • Congrats on your wedding planning...you look really nice in this video, can you do a make up tutorial on the overall look? thanks!!

  • I planned my wedding in 6 months. I got married the week after I graduated, so my final dress fitting was the weekend before I took my finals - it was CRAZY! So if I can do it, you can too. Don't get too stressed and work yourself up in too many details - it'll all work out one way or another :)

As for the guest list, unfortunately, you WILL offend some people; it can't be helped. I am Filipino too so I had TONS to invite. But ppl will move on and understand cause weddings are expensive!

  • @cherryblossoms32 Holy cow! That's so stressful!

  • CONGRATS SWEETHEART! Finally u r getting married!!! HAppy tears!

  • please do a make up tutorial on this look! congradulations, i am so happy for you! i'm sure everything will fall into place perfectly :)

  • We invited 400 ppl to our wedding and we still have ppl making comments on how they werent invited. So no matter what, so ppl will get feelings. Congrats on the engagement!

  • do you have your wedding party picked out?

  • even though my husband and I are already married, we just had a justice of the peace wedding. I still want a formal wedding, so I'm planing (all over again) and I have purchased a binder with pocket page protectors so I can put magazine articles and other things in there for ideas. That way I can make it more personal.

  • 45 dollars is pretty inexpensive, I have seen $150 per person here in NY

  • I got married in August and I agree that the guest list was the worst.. I started out with my must invite list and then went on from there.. If it was someone who I have not seen or will not see I did not invite them.. they all understood.. believe me you will feel worse than them.. they will be happy that you are happy.. and yes everyone will understand !

  • I am so excited for u guys...Are you going to save money and not hire makeup artist and hairstylist? Please do tutorials on your makeup, hair, and fashion for your wedding...Ohh, are you planning for just 1 gown, or more for reception??

  • Instead of plates, we did buffet style. It depends on ur venue though:)

  • Bridal Bargains is awesome in cutting corners and saving some moolah. It was the most useful book i read when i planned my own wedding. If it's still around, theKnot.com was a handy tool to find vendors in your locale and getting advice from other brides-to-be in your area. a great support site too where u can vent amongst others going thru it. Good Luck on your planning!!

  • Aww I feel like I'm one of you best friends or something as stupid as it sounds because i been following you (not to be stalkerish lol) for a long time and now youre all engaged and now im gonna be able to somewhat share your wedding plans and stuff with you. awww congrats girll. youre gonna be a beaaautiful bride!

  • Bridal Bargains is awesome in cutting corners and saving some moolah. It was the most useful book i read when i planned my own wedding. Good Luck on your planning!!

  • this is so exciting i cant wait for wedding updates!

  • Congrats!! but 45 per person is not bad.. lol in NYC it's over 100 per person.. well.. from what my friends tells me.

  • I helped my cousin with her wedding.. Imvite family and friends u know for a long time.. for the privitr wedding.. after the wedding wait a few weeks and trow a wedding party for friends and guests that where not invited to ake them feel great

  • i really recommend guam as a honeymoon spot! it is one of the most beautiful tropical places. the sunsets alone are worth the money, i think. plus, their hotels are amazing. especially the sheraton (which i haven't yet gone but heard lots of good things about) and a bunch of others. it's like a mini-hawaii but better imo.

  • gold and white! that sounds awesome!!

  • I'm so happy for Judy!!!

  • I remember when my brother and sister in law got married, they had a decent amount of people, so they got to spend time with everybody. Sometimes TOO many people are invited and you don't even get to say hello to them. The older that I get, the more inclined towards a smaller wedding I am. Thanks for sharing the planner, seems like a life saver!

  • JUDY... Make your Honey Moon at the Philippines..... congratz.

  • i'm excited for you!

  • You should have FROST in Mill Creek do the groom's cake...a giant maple bar with bacon on it! ;) Men love bacon. LOL

  • I love that you're actually posting these videos. A lot of gurus talk about posting a series of videos or just certain videos in general and never do

  • children after marriage? (:

  • what?! only 45$ per person!! that's cheap yo. in canada it's about 100$ well that's like class B~A

  • @itsJudysLife can you do a makeup tutorial for your eyes thanks!

  • This is besides the point but this makeup look is beautiful :)

  • Tobago is beautiful i was there recently, are you inviting any beauty gurus that you have become close with?

  • Judy @the end of your ceremony, u have to remember that people will always walk out of there with full stomachs & still complain about how they didn't like this or that about your wedding. U ARE PAYING for this event. Don't feel bad about cutting people out. I agree with Kassi90's suggestion.

But, I still want my invitation ;)

    JK

My best advice for ur wedding day is smile ALL OF THE TIME: people will be snapping shots of u ALL DAY AND NIGHT, whether u are looking @ the camera or not :)

  • Puerto Rico!!

  • 45 a person? I have to pay 65 a person! If I chose a premium time then it would be 85. Oh Judi, remember to scout photographers and figure out if you'd like a videographer as well.

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • ah it's so weird i didn't even put it together now, but you got engaged right around the time that my bestfriend did. they're also planning their wedding in august (the 6th). so that's kinda neat. i'm going tell her to check out these books!

  • I agree with kassi90. I think it's important that you share your special day with people that KNOW yours and Benji's love story. Why is it fair to you if people are gonna be there that have no idea how you met, how long you've been together, etc. Don't feel pressured to invite lots of people. If you have to think twice about it, cross them off the list. Sorry, I'm a little cutt-throat that way. ;)

  • Keep it simple. If you are paying for the wedding yourselves I would suggest inviting the family and friends that are closest to you both and that you are sure will attend. For my first wedding we invited over 200 and only a little more than half showed up. For my second wedding we only invited our nearest and dearest and the day was perfect... I guess that's why I call marriage number one the "practice wedding". I got it all wrong the first time. :)

  • you should check out theknot.com. they have a lot of resources for a bride on a budget. Plus they have a lot of pictures for ideas. I'm not getting married anytime soon but I wanted to be a wedding planner when I was 15 years old. :) Don't stress Judy. Have fun!
