@fishinwflies I'm using a 10'6" and it floats me just fine. In fact, that's one thing I like about the board because I can strip a lot of my fly line out and it just lays on the board...high and dry. Hobie has a 12' model that would float just about anyone. A 12' board is probably about as big as you want to go for maneuverability sake. Good luck if you try it!
Wow, just another reason to want to move to San Diego, crazy fishermen fishing on boards using $1000 fly rods! I just got home from Orivis, in northern VA with my new 9 wt. Helios can't wait to cast it!! You guys not anybody on the east coast using these boards? Oh yeah, you and your husband have a nice flats boat...good times.

@Terpsfutbol09 Can't say I know anyone who uses the Hobie or other SUP for fishing but that doesn't mean it's not being done. Have fun with your Helios!

@FacetsOfTruth I'm hardly a pro...far from it when it comes to surfing waves. I prefer regular surfboards. Been doing it for 4-5 years.
