  • Does your hair have to be longer to do this twist out method? I've tried it and I kept ending up with flat twist.

  • so pretty, i love hoe her hair goes BOIIIING!!

  • I'm so trying this. Thanks for the tips!!

  • cute hope this works for me

  • @MightyMight76 its so that when your sleeping your hair wont start sticking up in all directions

  • Sometimes I really want to have that tipe of hair, I don't know why the most of the ones who have that hair hate it, or put on wigs, or straight it....

  • Why are we securing the roots with bobby pins?

  • You have inspired me so much :) im going to start going natural 2day will i have to cut off my hair or can i just let the natural hair move the relaxed hair out? <3

  • @MSILUVNERDS You don't have to cut all your hair off if you don't want to. You can transition, which means that you stop getting relaxers and just let your new growth grow out and slowly trim the relaxed ends off. How long you choose to transition is up to you.I have been transitioning for 14 months now and i am about to trim the remaining relaxed hair off soon. Hope this helps. You can also type in 'transitioning to natural hair' in the search bar. There are alot of us transitioners on youtube!

  • @MSILUVNERDS You don't necessarily have to cut off the permed ends. I let mine grow out a bit till I felt comfortable with having it kinda short. Having two different textures can get annoying, but it's all up to you :D

  • No offense or anything but don't put water in your hair and leave it when your all done cause the water will dry out your hair.

  • @purplejewels123 Actually, water is good for our hair! If you don't believe me, just look it up. There is a lot of research on this topic.

  • Nevermind! I got it. Love your vids. LOVE them. I've been making your shea butter, coconut oil, etc mix for months. It does WONDERS for my mom's hair. She was hospitalized early last yr because she had very very low iron, and it took a toll on her hair. She cut most of it off, and your mix just omg. Her hair is like I've NEVER seen it! She says it's back to way it was before she had kids! Everyone in my fam thinks I'm some guru and I'm like "Not me! This woman on youtube!" THANK YOU!

  • I could've sworn I was doing it the way you are, but no matter what I end up with like funky looking flat twists. They don't hang down like your's, so I think I'm missing something! /: Any tips, anyone?

  • how much hair you have. I need to try this too. I am blonde and my hair is naturally straight and kind of thin, and forms something they want on my head. :D the thing is if I put water it will definitely not last even for one hour, but it looks gorgeous on you!!!

  • I only been natural for eight months, my hair is not that curly..... any tips for me to be able to get that look?

  • LOVE THIS!! You are my favorite vlogger, all of your tips totally work for me! I have 4a/4b AND 4/c hair! Thanks so much for sharing! :)

  • I love the way your hair looks. I'm gonna try this method tomorrow. Thanks for uploading!!!

  • didnt it look like that before....i don't see a difference

  • @Only1Ashcakes Her twist out made her curls looser and more chunky, but I kind of have to agree with you on that. She has 4a hair. She already has a defined curl pattern, so I guess I'm not totally understanding the point of doing twist-outs. I have 4c hair; I do twist outs just to get a curl pattern, forget if it's defined or not. Or, I do them in transition to a protective style. To each her own.

  • omg!!!! i love your hair!! im gonna beg my mom to do my hair like this!!! ur hair looks so beautiful!

  • Seeing this video, made me so thankful of the hair I have. (I'm hispanic) ^.^ But i mean, you do this pretty nice, no offense :p

  • ugh.. so much hair!

  • you have a really good voice for like commercials and stuff =)

  • I have never seen this method of doing two strand twist and I love your results. I am going to try this tonight!

  • @bubblemuffinxp I THINK YOU HAVE MADE A GREAT CHOICE TO GO NATURAL...I JUST BECAME NATURAL ABOUT FOUR MONTHS AGO N IT'S ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS THAT I HAVE MADR FOR MY HAIR. :)

  • im thinking about going natural. im sick of always having to relax my hair. it takes a lot of work to keep my hair straight, and it damages my hair and makes it brittle.

  • You Have some really Pretty Hair!!

  • Thank you soo much. Out of the many twist out tutorials on YouTube you are the first to show how to maintain it. Thanks from a transitioning novice

  • After months of searching I found out my hair type is a very thich 4C woth the coil pattern being a little loosely and more manageable at the front. Will a twist out work as well on my hair?

  • what if my hair is too short to be pulled back into a bun. how would i maintain the twist out for a couple days?

  • I bet she got those biceps from twisting hair so much & doing hair in general, it becomes a workout :)

  • Gorgeous. You have beautiful hair.

  • @Naatural85. I'm growing out my relaxer and it is HARD! My last relaxer was in July My hair is a little past shoulder length so I have a long way to go (w/o a big chop). I'm sick of buns and ponytails and a press is out the door the second I hit the gym. I had a frustrating experience with twists (I admit partly because of a "slave" mentality of being conditioned to being partial to straight hair) but I'm very inspired by videos! I swear I was on the brink of going back to the creamy crack! Th

  • @naptural85. I just want to let you know that I enjoy watching your videos. I haven't had a relaxer in four months. I am seriously thinking about going natural. I have had a problem, the hair on one side is growing faster than the other and it is very noticeable. My hair is very high on that side I was wondering if there is something you recommend I do to keep it from being so noticeable. Nothing I do can keep it down. Thanks:)

  • Your hair looks so pretty

  • thanks so much my hair is getting longer and I was running out of ideas, thanks so much for posting

  • It looked really nice short of the first day too!

  • your hair is beautiful! I am starting a natural hair journey soon and I hope for my hair to be as healthy, full of volume, and long as yours. I will certainly be doing this style (: By the way, does anyone think that while on your natural hair journey, installing kinky braids are a protective style? I dont want to wear my hair short right away and my natural hair (new growth is enough to put a braid on as long as it isnt french braided on my scalp.

  • @HappiiSmiles316 they most certainly are. (:

  • @soyeleye thank you!

  • @HappiiSmiles316 in ur dreams.

  • peep those michelle obama arms @ 5:21!

  • @loveofwonder: Absolutely! This girl is looking bionic! Love it!!! :)

  • it's like a fishtail braid!

  • Does this work on short transitioning hair

  • The end where you used a satin scrunchie, your hair is A LOT longer than mine and fuller too. So for us shorter haired natural girlies, what do we do?

  • @prettid1 i also have short hair. i tried this method last night. but instead of using a satin scrunchie i took a satin scarf and used it as a headband. i pulled it back as I would with a ponypuff. then i just put my satin bonnet over my hair and went to sleep. when i woke up my hair was lengthened and no frizzies or fuzzies ! :)

  • @xxharlex I know it took me 3 hours too! I couldn't get it the first time and then I finally realize what I was doing wrong and finally found a pattern to twist it the way she did.

  • Thank you so much for this video! It really helped alot to style my hair. I wish my hair can be as curly as yours but it turns out as wavy curls.

  • How long did it take for you to get good with twisting out your own hair? Your hair is AMAZING btw!!!

  • Love!! Thanks. :)

  • I love doing this method because of the definition it gives me, but I have normal density, fine hair, so it tends to make my hair look too flat. Is there anyway to fix this problem besides spraying it with some water?

  • ugh I CANT SO THIS I FEEL LIKE CRYING, MYY FINGERS GET TWISTED AND ALL I DO IS BREAK MY BREAK OFF

  • What is you hair type? I love it!

  • you're AMAZINGGGG... thank you & GOD bless (=

  • ughhh it took me 3 hours!

  • Every time i watch one of your videos i wonder how your hair feels!!! it must be as soft as it looks :D

  • do you use rose water? how does that work out for you?

  • What products do you use to do this?

  • Comment removed

  • tried this method and it worked great for me thank you :)

  • Hi! So when you start with dry hair, is it blow dried? or air dry?

  • just came out of three week baggied. Once a week on Sunday I Let it out clarified. Yesterday I made your creamy sheabutter. My hair's in twists now. It has retained incredible length continue to do you.

  • i love you hair.

do you have a texturizer on ur hair?if yes, whats the name?

  • Yea thank you so much for this video!

  • so i really want to try this because im giving my hair a break from heat, but my hair is neither as long nor as thick as yours. is that ok?

  • you are great...my hair type looks similiar to yours and i just combed out my locs...so thanks so much!!

  • THIS HATH INSPIRED ME!

  • @Hidjdjdj don't worry I was in the same situation. I've been natural all my life and the first time I wore my hair from a twist out to school I was scared but just don't let those girls get to you. It is unfortunate they can't have beautiful and healthy hair like ours.

  • Because the majority of black girls my age have perms. I'm a sophomore in high school and I've been natural my whole life. Once my mom stopped doing my hair, I wore it in a ponytail unless it was straightened, which rarely happens.

  • Omg so I tried to do mini twists but then I realized they were too big to be mini twists. So I took them out and I LOVE how my hair looks right now!!! :D I basically did a twist out. But the thing is, im scared to wear my hair out to school tomorrow. I usually wear my hair in a ponytail like all year round. I guess I'm just scared of criticism. :/

  • You have truly inspired me!!!

  • I absolutely love how this makes your hair look!

  • I am going to try this with my short hair. I am sooo excited!

  • I can't separate the twists in advance. It's just too difficult for my puny brain. Haha.

  • i loveeee you hair! i'm transitioning soo idk if it'll look like this but urs looks sooo good (:

  • Jesus! you've got SO MUCH HAIR!

  • I want to try this tomorrow! I usually have my hair flat-ironed but I decided to try something new. I did some twist yesterday that failed miserably because the hair got jacked up while I was untwisting. I can't wait to try this! Thank you. :3

  • When you said that you can use this method three days before having to re-twist, do you mean that there's a completely different method you use for re-twisting your hair? Is this video just a maintenance kind of thing?

  • great video!!!! because my hair is no as long as yours, I did smaller sections :) your amazing!!!!!

  • i just did a twist out yesterday & wanna wear it all wk this video really helped on telling me how to maintain it :)

  • omg i love naptural85 she is so inspiring even though i dont have natural hair i love to watch her vids... my mom wont let me go natural because it willl be to hard to handle but i dnt care it healthier :)

  • I really like this twist out method because it already has the segments parted, you don't need to try and cover up the parts you made initially... one of the main reasons why i avoid this style!! i think i might try this style in the summer :-) Thnx for sharing

  • i keep trying and trying to do your twisting method because i L-O-V-E the way it looks but it just never looks like yours when i do it. it looks really sloppy and it doesn't have a curly shape. what on earth am i doing wrong??

  • @mstaytaybo0 Mine too, I think it's got something with our hair type. Some things work for her, some don't for us.

  • Thanks so much AfroBella!

  • What do you mean by, "I usually can do the "scrunchie" method for three days in a row before having to re-twist!"

  • you and your hair are beautiful :D

  • you have gorgeous hair!!

  • Wow I like your twist out method, going to have to try it on my two daughters, btw love your curl pattern as well.

  • Very nice method! Your hair is beautiful. It's hard to believe you only used water and shea butter. Your curl definition is on point! LOL. What kind of detangler and conditioner do you use?

  • gorgeous

  • this twisting method is pure genius!

  • when you take your hair down is it fully dried?

  • I cannot spritz my hair with water on the second day. It just makes my hair FRIZZY ; (

  • how long does that take to do aproximately?? like how long to twist n how long to untwist??

  • I just saw this video for the first time yesterday. I have 3c/4c hair which isn't nearly as full and lovely as yours. But the technique is awesome and my hair looks so full! I'll be doing this technique for my twist outs from now on! Thanks so very much for the video!

  • I love this video. Im really going to try this to my hair. (: Thank you !

  • How many minutes does it take you to do this?

  • Thanks so much for this video!!!!!

  • It's just water but sometimes she uses part water part aloe vera juice

    Be Blessed

  • what spritz are u using in this video?

  • @krazzydee

She isn't using a spritz, she is just using water in a spray bottle and then coats her hair with shea butter.

  • @krazzydee it just water .... she just puts it in that bottle

  • Maybe someone can help me. I do the twist out and braid outs but the hair in front doesn't take the shape of the braid at all. the braids stay in over night and when i take them down all i get is the bushy hair and not the curl. but the back stays curly forever...what should i do?

  • this might sound really stupid, but I'm a visual learner and I NEED to see how you separated and twisted the back. the back is always my challenge.

  • OMG!!!! you have answered so many of my questions!! I have mixed hair and have had no idea what to do with it for years. its really long and such a nightmare to manage with. but with all your techniques I could really do something with this birds nest lol. thank you. you have become a hair god to me! I have been searching for the right products and methods for years. thank you

  • This is a great method. I was hesitant to try it for a while because I thought it would take longer than my normal twist outs, but I was able to do it in the shower right after washing my hair, let it dry for the day, and the next day I had an amazing twist out. The only downside is that the twists can't be worn as a style and the twist out doesn't last longer than 3 days. I'll try using gel to see if I can get the style to hold longer.

  • LOOOOOOOVE your videos! trying tonight :)

  • sooo helpful. Thank you!

  • about how many twists total did you do?

  • and people, when ever someone posts something, please try not to get offended with what they are saying because things are so easily misunderstood and it starts a rampage of insults and it just makes people look so silly THIS GOES TO MrTidleyWinks and anyone else who misinterprets what someone is saying and wanting to attack them. and @KokoGigglesLots i feel where you are coming from. you are right. maybe you should tell MrTidleyWinks that. i would appreciate it if you did, thanks

  • @sweetietee19 lol stop ranting. no one cares.

  • Smh...these comments are ridiculous. All this behind someone's hair type? All of you posting ignorant comments need help. It's not anyone else's fault that you are unhappy with yourself. Getting on YT and watching and posting insulting comments isn't gonna help you get further in life and all you are doing is showing how incredibly ignorant and hateful you are. Spend less time on YT creating drama and more time working on yourself.

  • @KokoGigglesLots exactly, i totally feel where youre coming from. the dude MrTidleyWinks has been harassing me and calling me ignorant all because i commented on the young ladys video saying this"and yea you already have good hair you know, i mean some peoples hair isnt as long and soft like yours... you must have indian in you.. :), and then MrTidleyWinks, commented back saying"You must have ignorant in you.:). so it went from there. and i didnt know what to do. i wasnt even talking to him.

  • @KokoGigglesLots it surprised me how he would even get offended like that. im an African American female, and i dont have the worst hair, but its not as good as hers so ALOT of black women like myself would agree to that. so what is all the fuss about? then i went to go to his page to block and report him and i couldnt bc for 1, he didnt have a picture, and when i went to go to it, it said channel unavailable. so yea he dont even know me and hes trying to judge me.

  • @KokoGigglesLots and i never said that i wasnt happy with myself. the instructions she was giving wouldnt have applied to everyone because everyone dont have hair like her. so of course the people who do have hair like her could do what she was explaining. but as for me. yea, when i perm my hair its like that, but other than that its thick and corse. so i wear extensions and i love wearing extentions. i was just speaking on everyone who dont fall in that category. i was just complementing her.

  • I really enjoy viewing your videos with all the informative techniques and positive impact you/they have produce. Thanks for sharing. Keeping growing,

    God Bless you :) :) :) :)

  • I hardly ever comment on anyone's videos, however this has to be said. Thank you sooo much for continually posting your videos and with such professionalism. You normally do "voice over" which I love and you are much appreciated especially by me. I have learned a lot about maintaining my hair from you! No need to comment on the negative people as they will always be around and never prosper :)

  • Is that Rose Water & Glycerin that you are using to wet your hear with? I mix my own distilled water and glycerine. Do you find that the Rose Water works better?

  • Great technique! thanks for sharing

  • I love your channel :D The homemade conditioner was amazing and I just got all my ingredients for the flaxseed gel. I have been natural for 3 years but I could never figure out what to do with my hair.... then I found you. Thanks for everything!!!!

  • Great vid! Beautiful hair!

  • Wow, great video! I've been natural for a few years and was looking for some quicker ways to do my twists when I ran across your video. You went into detail to explain how to do your entire head and what to do to maintain the style--I love that. Thanks and keep the videos coming.

  • and yea you already have good hair you know, i mean some peoples hair isnt as long and soft like yours... you must have indian in you.. :)

  • @sweetietee19 You must have ignorant in you.:)

  • @MrTidleyWinks GIRL GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT BULL! FIRST OF ALL, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE DISRESPECTFUL! AND NO IM PERFECTLY INTELEGENT UNLIKE SOMEONE LIKE YOU WHO HAS NO MANNERS WHAT SO EVER WHEN IT COMES TO SOMEONE WHO IS BEING NICE. BUT THATS OKAY, IF THATS HOW U FEEL THATS YOUR PROBLEM. AND YES NOT ALL OF US HAVE HAIR LIKE THAT SO HOW THE FUCK IS THAT BEING IGNORANT. OH YES I CAN SHOW YOU IGNORANCE. BUT I AINT EVEN GOING TO LET YOU RUIN MY DAY. FORGET YOU.

  • @MrTidleyWinks FUCK YOU WHAT KIND OF NAME IS TIDLEY WINKS ANY WAY. SHUT UP YOURE THE IGNORANT ONE..

  • @sweetietee19 No, thank you! My point has been proven. :)

  • @MrTidleyWinks you have no point. and you need to get out of here with that mess bc you started with me! IM A GROWN ASS WOMAN and i wasnt even talking to you so whatever thats your problem if you want to insult people, you are the ignorant one.

  • @sweetietee19 It doesn't matter if you're a GROWN ASS WOMAN. Fifteen year old's could have typed a better comment. Saying she must have "Indian" in her is the most cliche, back-biting half-ass compliment any black woman can give to another black woman. She says she's Jamaican and the other half is from Southern United States. You don't need to be Indian to have long, beautiful hair. Ignorant.

  • @MrTidleyWinks NO WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER AND EVERY TONGUE THATS RISES AGAINST ME, GOD WILL CONDEMN!!

  • @sweetietee19 Lol. I rest my case.

  • @sweetietee19 my hair isn't as long because i just started my natural hair journey but it's always been soft. And I am black, we don't have to be mixed with something to have nice hair.

  • @MissJeriB yea i know because i see alot of african american females and males with good hair. but you know what i was talking about lol.. but i was referring to myself lol. my hair isnt bad but its not as gorgeous as yours.. you take good care of your hair. im always wearing extensions, which help my hair grow but my hair could be alittle better if i took better care of it,

  • @sweetietee19 i don't think shee mixed with anything im pretty sure she said that in another video ... you don't have to be mixed with another race to have long soft hair ^^" she's a prime example of that and there are many other like her who are just simply black and have long hair..check out kimmaytube, and haircrush who have like waist length hair ^^" and they're not mixed with anything unfortunately there's that stereotype that you have to be mixed to have "good hair" hopefully its stops :0

  • @iJam24 ONCE AGAIN. I DIDNT MEAN IT LIKE THAT I DONT KNOW WHY PPL ARE GETTING SO OFFENSIVE ABOUT THAT! FOR ONE IM BLACK AND THE ONLY REASON Y I SAID THAT IS BECAUSE I DONT HAVE HAIR LIKE THAT. I WAS COMPLEMENTING HER, STOP TAKING OFFENSE. THAT WAS LIKE 2 MONTHS AGO ANY WAY. BUT WHAT EVER AINT NO ONE STEREO TYPING ANYONE. ITS NOT MY FAULT THAT ALL OF US DONT HAVE HAIR LIKE HER SMH... AND SHE DONT HAVE A PROBLEM I TALKED TO HER AND SHE SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT SHE KNEW WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY!

  • @sweetietee19 woah dude chill out why are you so mad.... i was just trying to help you out lol that's why i recommended those different channels to you to show you a gamut of hair textures can be really long if you take care of it lol but okie dokie .... i would type more but i don't follow on what you were talking about lol

  • @iJam24 ok

  • @TheJARNEZY Go take two seats please. You're embarassing the human race.

  • @TheJARNEZY Learn to speak proper English before you try to insult someone.

  • @LightDivinity enh. Don't feed the troll, especially if they've just shown the internet that they have the mental capacity of a toddler.

  • @TheJARNEZY You really shouldn't judge .. she is gorgeous.. but it's okay i don't have to prove nothing to you and neither does she ... you got yours coming

    god bless~

  • @honeypreciousangel97 I know that's right girl this child aint worth it shes like in preschool shes 13 and sweetie your not pretty no lol im so serious this is about hair its funny how on her page it says profile pics dont hate yo she has nothing to hate on child please lol. we love the vids Whitney dont mind negative people its what ,motivates you

  • @timeless617 i just don't like when people talk about how people look, dress, etc. you aren't any better than the next onee!! that is all i got to say. i just hope they know that people say the same about them and worse.

  • @TheJARNEZY um actually she is gorgeous, and notice that she did respond to you because u cant speak english.

  • God bless you!! I have been searching for months on how to maintain my twist, and everyone else on YouTube is to stingy to tell us how, God Bless You

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • A-MAZINGGGGG!!!!

  • you say comb it out again at the end. how easy is it to comb it out again? I find that my hair is always so hard to manage combing out. Is there something I can use or do to make it easy?

  • what are u spraying into your hair???

  • @cbutlermk it's just pure water but she had it in an old rose water bottle.

  • @iheartURhair ok thanks!!!

  • i am learning a lot from these vids. plz continue.

  • did this work for anybody with extremely thick (4b) hair?

  • @monicabrown04 yes it work for me and my hair is thick ,so is hers.

  • @monicabrown04 yes it work for me and my hair is thick ,so is hers.

  • @monicabrown04 I think you really have to pay attention to your own hair type and those types that we want to recreate. I too have very thick, dense 4b hair and I am certain my hair will not look( or move :-) ) anything like hers after doing the same technique. Hers is absolutely beautifully though. Good luck! What type did she say her hair was btw?

  • did this work for anybody?

  • this helped a lot. i like how u did the twist out and jusr didnt leave us hanging with what to do for day 2 then mentioned what do once it looks old. great tutorial

  • Your hair is beautiful....I came across this vid on accident just looking up groups on FB and someone shared ur vid on a "Natural Hair Page" I finally grew out my relaxer and got the ends cut off. I never seen this method. But I will give it a try. I usually just twist my hair individually and to maintain it at night I just french braid it

  • Oh wow you look so pretty! I'm doing this tonight, it's the easiest and cleanest method I've seen!
