Yes filling out ballots outside the polling station is considered proof of cheating. Regardless of how they obtained the ballots and who they have voted for.

And regarding the quality. As long as I can recognize that there are ballots being filled out (which is obvious to me at least) I don't need any higher quality. HD quality would not have made it any more proof.

A very good question. But nobody except the government has excess to the ballots, so regardless of who is doing this it proves the fraud. In Iran you are not allowed to vote instead of other people, which might be the defense of these guys. Of course it is obvious from what they say that that is not the case and they are making up names.

mouvemeister, It is a very difficult situation, admittedly - but i challenge the conventional wisdom that America supporting the protestors will harm them - they are actually risking much more than being called American stooges - they are risking their lives.If any one makes the argument that these people are US stooges, it can only be the Iran Govt-no other sane person can say that.The US Govt can bring sanctions against the regime but is unwilling to do so.

To my understanding, their lifes would be way more at risk if it could be proven that an intervention from abroad is causing the unrest (which is impossible).

If sanctions would be brought now, the Iranian government would only feel blackmailed. I think there is only one way of reacting: to gradually sharpen the tone in which Europe and the US are communicating with Iran until a certain threshold is reached, and then bring on sanctions.

But I hope, the situation is cleared way earlier.
