Jolene, you are a born orator. I love your delivery. The food looks good too- is there a Mr. Sugarbaker? I bet he's fat because all your food looks soooo good.
your KITSCHen is so KITSCHY!!!! oxo i have some great recipes ive found just for you! ill send em along soon. i just think you are fab, so many food/kitchen memories... thank you.
I have watched that rich beautch, Rachel Ray on TV who has the "$40 a day" food show and thought, wtf, I can eat a whole MONTH on a $40 budget!...and Jolene helps us do it with tasty recipes that will feed a whole family!!...and usually there are left overs!!!
Most of my shows feature recipes at least under 10.... I'll have some quickie items here in the near future...I'll keep the ingredient thing in mind...
i really miss these long shows with jolene! this actually looks appealing, but i'd do without the olives, cheese whiz, and (sorry jolene) the peanuts.
Miss Jolene. I am a new fan from Kentucky. I found you by accident and have been hooked since. Your recipe segments are fun. They make me laugh. Where are you from? Your accent sounds very Kentucky. You soooooooo had me laughing with the can opener.
I love you so much, hun. You're my hero. I love your recipes and your helpful advice. You make things so much fun! And I have a secret to tell - I love squirt cheese on saltine crackers. I often watch your shows while eating them! Thank you for all you do!
Dear Jolene, if you don't have any basil (and I don't right now, but I'm boiling the water to make this dish as I type this) what else could I use to substitute? Thank you - you're my favorite YouTube show ever!
I made this yesterday...we even ate what was left over for breakfast this morning. Very deliciuos. Next time I make this, instead of peanuts on top, I think I'll try crushed doritos. Have a happy day, Jolene!
I made this again with doritos on top. The spanish peanuts were better. This time, however, I didn't have any montreal steak seasoning. I could really tell the difference.
Your show is a riot! I love it! On a serious note: cooking your meat well only helps you avoid botulism and other bacterial infections
like e-coli, listeria and salmonella, not to mention parasites like tapeworm etc. If the beef is infected with BSE (mad cow) then you'd have to burn it to a crisp and douse it with ammonia or something to get rid of the
The only way of avoiding BSE ('mad cow' or Creutzfeldt-Jakob's disease, in humans) is to stay away from infected beef. Since we can't tell what's infected in advance, one way of minimizing risk is to avoid organs hosting the central nervous system: (spine, bone-marrow, skull etc.) where most prions are. Ground beef made from clean cuts of meat is better than the 'cheap' kind where G-d knows what they throw in...Even then, there's no guarantees safer than complete abstinence;)
Oooh I thought that can opener was going to take your hand off, but now that I see that it didn't I want one too. And I never in a million years would have thought to sop up the grease with a paper towel! My skillets are so heavy, so Your way is going to really help out in my kitchen. I really love your sweater with those green fuzzy cuffs. Where did you buy that? (please excuse any typos). love ya!
The can opener has really become a friend to me... And yes, the paper towel trick really works!
My wristwear were handmade by Comedian Suzzanne Monk, she brought them to me when I was on the set of The Jerry Springer Show about a year ago.. and have been with me ever since... before then I had less frilly ones...
MMMMmmmmm.. Tasty...Peanuts and Cheese! I feel my arteries clogging. My cat chewed on the nozzle of the last can of squirt cheese that I purchased. He figured out that when he chewed the nozzle, the cheese squirted out and he had himself a tasty lil' snack. Despite her love for the cat, my daughter did not wish to share his cheese.
Jolene, I think you had a hot flash in there? That's a really new fangled can opener you have there. I would keep the water from the cans for stock for soup. Gives your soup a little something special :-) I like your striped T-fal.
"Be careful - You probably don't have health care" - God is in the details Jolene. I've never seen anyone use papertowels for soakin' up grease. You have much better tips than that convict Martha.
Oh Jolene, you had me at the green olives. Sounds like a dinner my guys would just love! Lol at the clangin and bangin, sounds like me in my kitchen. Have you gotten any more used to your new can opener? I've wanted one of those for awhile. Stay wonderful. Love ya bunches!
Oh, on the contrary Miz Jolene! I meant to say that I adore the green olives, but you do inspire me to be more adventerous in the kitchen *^.^* Thank you for always taking the time to reply. Love ya bunches =P
Great to see you! A LIVE can-opener! Whatever next? You looked so funny with it. LOVE YOU Jolene Queen. You're a style sensation + a kitchen INSPIRATION! xxx Ida
jolene you are great !!!! Im writing the food network now,to tell them about you. You are alot more fun and REAL then that paula dean, and you talk to the people not down at them like that rich b**ch paula. THANK YOU JOLENE !!!!
Wow! It's about time you're back, Jolene, I have missed you so much! So I tried this recipe, it was..cheesy. I had bouts all day yesterday of explosive diarrhea & heartburn, and some hemroid trouble. Not sure if it's something I ate or a bug going around? lol..I ate so much of this awesome nutty beef casserole, I think I'll freeze the rest for company! :)) haha!
Jolene I will take some pictures and send them to you. I;m so gald you use things that regular people have that are in their pantry. That's what matters to stay at home wives. What;s in the pantry. So I don't have to go out !!! LORD, Work smart, not hard !!!! LOL That's my Southaven, MS moto !!!!!
I just LOVE you Jolene !!! I sure missed you !!!! I'm going to try your dish this week. I'll comment back how it was !! You know I have all of the supplies needed for everyone of your meals. They are in my pantry at all times. I know whatever you cook I probably have the samethings in my pantry. Can't wait til next time !!! Keep it the Trailer Park Way !!!
I try to make sure that none of my ingredients are too hard to find... although I do have a liking for old fashioned brands that may take a while to find (took me forever to find Sauer's Egg White Powder today) Be sure to take a picture and send it to me :)
I was just wondering if you could substitute a squirrel for the beef? LOL ... loved it when you were rifling thru your pans below camera level! ...your reaction to the new can-opener was priceless! I like the idea of the spanish peanuts but the plastic-like, canned cheese (I think that's what it was!) that you sprayed on in an "x" formation seemed just all-too-much for me. btw how do you keep your fancy clothes so clean while you cook? I end up wearing my food most times... luv 'ya!
I'm told squirrel could be slipped into a lot of things.. however I tend to stay with beef and chicken :) Let me know if you do try it out with it :) You could do little Rosettes with the Squirt cheese, specially with spring here..... As for my clothes, there's spots after a while of cooking, the camera just doesn't pick them up :) Just a good washing, and I'm on to another show :)
Tell us the truth, Jolene. Do you store your extra pots 'n' pans in the oven (like I do), or in a big ol' cardboard box? I live in the relative luxury of a double wide, but storage is a challenge in the trailer park life style! BTW, I think squirt cheese is one of the best gourmet convenience foods ever!
Do to a tight budget, Thanks ( Opec ) i can not afford ground beef, but i can get some discounted ground turky would this work as a substitute? Also im lactose intolerant so would soy milk change the flavor? green pepers give me heart burn, But the orange ones do not could i use the orange one?
And after you say what condiment or spice to use you walk away, Were do you go? love your shows, Thanks..
Ground Turkey will work just as well, but you'll have to adjust the spices to be a bit stronger as turkey needs some help.. As for soy milk, I still haven't figured out that stuff, but I'm sure it will work... Yes, Orange Peppers will work..... I go get more ingredients :) I don't have helpers like the fancy tv people ;)
The Montreal Steak Seasoning might be hard to find (at least the brand that's popular here) however you might find it at a speciality shoppe (Ooh I said that fancy)... The peanuts... I'm sure they are there, you might just call them something different :)
You know you English People and your Biscuits Vs. Cookies naming thing, could be the same thing :)
People didn't see me grease my pan before I put the meat in :) If it wasn't being filmed, I'd leave the grease in (tastes better) but you should SEE the mail I get when I leave it in and it's witnessed on film!
Looks Mighty Yummy Jolene. But Lawd Cooking In A White Sweater, Boy Howdy, I Would Sho Nuf Have Somethin On It Fur Shur. And Them That Little Green Fuzzies On Yur Rist. You Worried Me Tureable Thinkin They Was A Gonna Ketch On Fire. ;0)
Jolene, you never fail to dazzle me! I'm star-struck now! I will definately fit you into my TV/video schedule...right between Desperate Housewives and Emeril!!
Well you have the best cooking show I ever saw, it's even better then what's on the Food Network !!! I'm glad MsOphelia sent me over to watch !!! Yer not related to Suzanne Sugarbaker are you???? If'n you are, go steal one of her Pagent Tiara's and wear it on yer next special.... I had to subscribe, I just love ya.
Hey there I hope you have a great weekend too. It's actually sunny here FINALLY. I will be looking for more from you definitely. BTW I love the way you have your kitchen cubboards decorated. LOTS of GREAT personality. I know I'm going to enjoy you.
Wow, this skillet pan has become quite popular! It may need its own channel! LOL
Unfortunately I have found out they are no longer made in the patterns I have...
And are worth quite a bit (I might have to insure my pan now)... But good news, I have a red one I just secured to be given away during my next episode... stay tuned :)
Loved it! Us cooks have to stay together!

I end up wearing my food most times... luv 'ya!
davidsolo 3 years ago
davidsolo!
Good to see ya!

Love you!

I do have a lot of cabinet space in my Trailer Park Test Kitchen...
Last time I stored things in the oven, I had pre-heated it, and well, it was a mess...
And I have a closet full of all my kitchen stuff too...(I have a mega-pan collection, and kitchen gadget/electronic collection)..
Sharp Cheddar Squirt Cheese all the way!

Dear Jolene
Do to a tight budget, Thanks ( Opec ) i can not afford ground beef, but i can get some discounted ground turky would this work as a substitute? Also im lactose intolerant so would soy milk change the flavor? green pepers give me heart burn, But the orange ones do not could i use the orange one?
And after you say what condiment or spice to use you walk away, Were do you go? love your shows, Thanks..
ZmuFFinMan 3 years ago
ZmuFFinMan!
Ground Turkey will work just as well, but you'll have to adjust the spices to be a bit stronger as turkey needs some help.. As for soy milk, I still haven't figured out that stuff, but I'm sure it will work... Yes, Orange Peppers will work..... I go get more ingredients :) I don't have helpers like the fancy tv people ;)
Love You!

Us trailer park folks would ADD grease IN - never take the grease OUT. By the way.

People didn't see me grease my pan before I put the meat in :) If it wasn't being filmed, I'd leave the grease in (tastes better) but you should SEE the mail I get when I leave it in and it's witnessed on film!

Um, In researching this skillet Pan, I have found out that it's rare and worth over $100.
It's apparently rare and imported from Italy..
