It's from when Galloway and Tommy Sheridan used to regularly protest outside Faslane Naval Base against the Nukes and Nuclear Subs which are based there. They got arrested an average of once a month, usually getting dragged or carried away. It used to be on TV all the time here - had to admire them for their tenacity, although it was obvious they both liked getting their faces on telly and in the papers as well.

The first link is their apology for not realising the papers had been forged. Who would have reason to forge such documents? And why would Galloway not come out fighting? I'm not saying he's innocent, necessarily - I'm saying the setup was inept.

Personally, I disagree with Galloway on who he thinks his friends are. But I think he is right when he identifies, and attacks, his enemies. There's no question in my mind that there was a high-level organised smear campaign against him when he went before the Commitee, and I think he fought it well (while self-publicising, as is his way). I usually disagree with his politics and tactics, but in this case he was right.

And it's funny, I hope.

A UN weapons inspector once said he was offered a million dollars in hard cash when he was face to face with Aziz.
