I live up north in the Mountains where they use Salt and Sand. After a winter you can take clumps of sand from under your truck. If you want your truck to last you need to park it in a heated garage with a drain so you can wash it every week! I off road here and there but always wash truck after. I also park on a crush stone driveway so it never dries out until summer. Can't wait to someday move south or build a garage!
I have more videos of this Ford F150 FX4 from this youtube account brutmaster08 I have decided to go with this name and not updating yankovicfx4. Wish youtube had a way to join accounts along with all viewing numbers.
It is a Timkin wheel bearing. Check rockauto.com they have good prices and I can get you 5% off if you want to buy it there. Fords are great, if you use a truck as a "truck" then they wear out. Good luck. RA
what brand wheel bearing did you use? my truck is making a terrible humming noise from the front right a narrowed it down to the wheel bearing. i just replaced the front CV shaft with a ford part and it was 360 bucks so i dont know if im going to go with ford again
@cyberpine Truthfully for a 1996 F-150 I am not sure, it is a totally different truck. To test the tie rods jack the wheel up,with the wheel still bolted on, pull wheel left to right listening for a knock. Have a friend look under the truck when you do this to see if it is the tie rod. You would see it move at the union. Listen for wheel bearing hum when driving, turn right if you hear hum, then left bad, turn right then left bad. That is usually how I check. Hope this helps. RA
wrong title bro this is a hub assembly not wheel bearing !!!!

Do the knuckle casting vary somewhat from Chevy or other brands?
What material are the castings made of?

Thanks for this video. Did you have to grease the the new Wheel Bearings? What type of grease? $200 for both?
I have a 96 4x2 F150. I am planning to change brakes, rotors and shocks.
How do I know if I need new Wheel bearings and new ball joints?
Been to a few shops and keep getting a different recommendation.
Pictures of my truck are under picasaweb /cyberpine/1996F150#
Thanks.
