  • Nitrous Kenworth vs. standard heavy cruising Harley Davidson

  • I've often wondered....Why is it that most Harley-riders wear Kenworth t-shirts and most Kenworth-drivers wear Harley Davidson t-shirts???

    ;o)

  • not an insult, but is it a replica of ol Bandag burnout machine?

  • @tree18is Nope. It is its own monster.

  • NICE!!

  • oh by the way my grandmother drives an automatic cause the bitch cant shift

  • 3100 hp is that what u say or is that what wayen says ill bet u anything u wont hit 900 hp on the dyno

  • 0:40 lmao gf atmosphere

  • Do you use pure Dino diesel (petro) or do you use a mix of bio?

I heard "BlueSun" was good stuff.

  • @MrAss707 - Dino diesel

  • @MrAss707 Only dino diesel

  • Do they take it pulling? I would love to see that....

  • @E36c - Al Gore's house dumps more C02 into the air than this guys truck does. Get Al to take less people with him while he's visiting Europe and that will help mother Earth plenty!

  • @E36c Your pussy mobiles in Europe pollute more than these diesel engines do.

  • What in the blue hell was that??!!!!!

  • I feel really bad for all the canaries and furry little creatures of God that have to breathe all that dirty evil pollution. These races should be banned and only an evil person would contribute to this unethical behavior. That truck should have a plug that you can plug into an outlet for clean pure holy energy. And yes I'm being sarcastic. All you whacked out pollution freaks can suck my greazy nards.

  • Sweet !

  • AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!

  • Reminds me of the old Super Boss....RIP Tyrone Malone.

  • Al Gore will be pissed..

  • @DutchGamingTube Let's all piss on Al Gore :)

  • @ImForwardlook

Your house is one of the biggest contributors to the ALLEGED climate problem, so if u wanna help turn off the heating and wear thermals !!

  • I know 2,000hp is possible with a ship engine, but an actual rig I doubt it will get over that modidifed...

  • @MrTpengineer We're getting 2,500+ out of the 12v71 with NO Nitrous OR Propane injection @ approximately 4600 rpms with 260mm injectors and twin turbos of course, running through the roots blowers. Most mainline RR freight locomotives these days are averaging 4,400 to 6000hp with a single axial flow turbo (on the EMD 2cycles).

  • @MrTpengineer We're getting 2,500+ out of the 12v71 2cycle Detroit Diesel with NO Nitrous OR Propane injection @ approximately 4600 rpms with 260mm injectors and twin turbos of course, running through the roots blowers. Most mainline RR freight locomotives these days are averaging 4,400 to 6000hp with a single axial flow turbo (on the EMD 2cycles).

  • @MrTpengineer pulling tractors push 2000 hp with 7-8 liter motors

  • id guestimate over 6k for tq, jst sayin

  • What the fuck... So much smoke...

  • sounds like a detroit? am i right?

  • nice vid. miss going out to tha track

  • Saving the earth one truck at a time :D

  • 11.92 is an EXTREMELY respectable time for something with so much weight and I'd presume little of that is centered over the rear axle to help hook those tires up.

Given the aerodynamics of a refrigerator, and basically being so heavy, I have a LOT of respect for that rig.

  • lmfao, that poor hardley ableson never stood a chance.

    3,100 hp versus 3.1 hp

  • its early curlers truckboattruck!!!

  • Damn, how many R's is that diesel turning? Sounds like a lot more than what it is supposed to top out at which is like what, 2000 rpm? Sounds like 5 to 8,000 R's

  • that thing performs through the roof! considering that my bed is more aerodynamic...

  • there goes the ozone layer! lol

  • Awesome, definitely a video the Diesel Nitrous Naysayers need to see. So many uninformed "know it all" idiots in the world. lol

  • Someone said they can't believe a 150HP H-D could not keep up. Now assuming that is 150 HP. This is why the H-D could not keep up. Truck 3100hp and 9500 lbs. That is about a 3 to 1 hp to weight ratio. Now the H-D 150hp and 800lbs. (including rider) That is about a 5 to 1 hp to weight ratio. It takes power to move weight and the truck has a better hp to weight ratio. That's why it is faster.

  • @dobypaw That truck has the wind resistance of a garden shed, it takes HP to overcome the world's shittiest aerodynamics. Most likely the Harley simply doesnt have what is claimed, a 400cc 60hp crotchrocket posts a 12 second time. nuff said. heck, even a 250cc, 23hp Honda 250 does it in 16 seconds ;)...150hp HD...? feel free to question that

  • It really has Nos not propane?

  • @caddycoupe1021 Nitrous is very safe in a diesel. Diesels can lean out unlike a gas engine.

  • @alscort93 I just thought that propane is more efficient in diesels.

  • @alscort93 so when u introduce nitrous into a diesel engine it doesnt and cant lean out? Bullshit! Lets say the electronics gave out during a nitrous run, at 14:1 compression (and im sure in this case it would be a lot higher) that motor would blow the head right off. So i guess ur also saying that introducing N2o into a diesel engine doesnt need extra fuel? If it didnt get it, it would therefore lean out. C'mon man!

  • @jdubcbr600 Read the comment again, diesels CAN lean out, they do it differently than gas engines. Diesels run off of detonation, no spark plugs. Compression and heat are what ignites the fuel/air mixture, totally different than a gas engine.

  • man that is just insane

  • 1800 Hp from the engine alone. Press the red button and you've got 1300 extra Hp on top of that (double 650 shot of NO2). Also weighs in at 9500 lbs (4 times heavier than average drag car). The owner doesnt want me to post the gear ratio so I wont. @ CavX2 - you dont know shit about drag racing obviously. it was a bracket race the harley didnt keep up. it only did a 14.5 second run while the Kenworth did a 13.2

  • I call someones bluff at 1800hp and 9500lbs the truck should run close to a 10.14 et @ 132mph

  • well that does seem slo for 3100 horses even if it is very un aerodynamic, it has more than 10 times the horse power of a car that can do that, and somewhere around 20 times the torque, and your gears are a racing secret? you dont know huh? no one truly gives a shit on what kind of gears your running, your competition isnt going to have an advantage because you posted your gears on youtube, by the way with that kind of power i would be going with 3.xx's

  • @imadethistowatchvide i Seen him at Notre dame du nord, Quebec aka the truck rodeo and youre standing 10ft from these things wide open uphill and its fast enough.

  • @imadethistowatchvide whatever they are they might need smaller gears since they rotate faster.

  • i cant see that being 3100hp a 150hp harley keeping up to it yah i dont think so

  • men how can have tha amasing sound diesel whit nitrous?

  • harleys are fukin slow though but props that beast is fast and sounds good

  • holy smoke!!

  • too fucking much in most cases is an accurate measurement!

  • Is this a v-16 Detroit.Gotta be a 2 stroke.

  • what a big waste of money.

  • Not really. You can make a good chunk of money drag racing.

  • I actually think the truck would outrun the Harley past the 1/4 mile...

  • @scott93257 most likely you gotta give them big bastards a 1/2 mile to unwind.

  • only one expression comes to my mind... holy smokes!

  • is that a 2 stroker?

  • haha thats my brothers truck your racing

  • i don't give a damn if you lost or won or what. that kenworth scares the livin shit outta me! that sounds like an absolute monster! great vid

  • lol not enviromentally friendly

  • @dekacster

    SO WHAT!!! LMAO...It's bad ASS

  • @scott93257 irony man irony

  • @dekacster

    Indeed my friend...indeed :)

  • @dekacster nope

  • jesus. what kind of engine you got in there? a big 6 cylinder truck engine or something different for racing?

  • Sounds exactly like a 4-cylinder car engine!

  • @KapteinOpel

ironically... it does and its weird to see that noise goming from something that big.

  • @KapteinOpel

Believe its a Detroit 8V92 two stroke diesel

  • @Ge0vone After a weekend at the track the sweet smell of tire smoke still lingers in the air. Most of the diesel smoke is particulate and falls back down to the ground.

  • @Ge0vone I'm not quite understanding what you mean?

  • @Ge0vone oh it is good.

  • @Ge0vone veggie burger

  • ok thanks that would be good

  • what can this thing top out at?

  • We dont have numbers for top speed yet. Havn't tried it. I'll talk to Wayne at TNT Racing (built the engine) to see what he estimates top MPH to be and get back to you

  • Detroit Diesel 8V92 (V8) with a 4 speed Alison Automatic Transmission.

  • @Landser1853 its a diesel look at the black smoke

  • that is awesome ! it would be funny if you put that motor and nitrous in a stock truck. I mean, just to pull up beside some camaro or mustang and blow their doors off pulling a trailer !! obviously, not as lucrative or purposeful as what you've done here. you got to admit that would be fun though. make the camaro owner wet himself. go home cryin'

  • is it an automatic?

  • it doesn't matter if its a 1000000000 bhp engine , what maters is the power to weight ratio :)

  • ....and traction

  • looks like the little blue truck and the slow HD both beat it.

  • @bulletman100 : Actually the Kenworth won both races and had a perfect light against the "slow" HD.

  • :42 chevy was at least 3 lengths ahead. HD got off the line 2 seconds before the big truck. just commenting on what is in the video. nothing really there to show the big truck ever caught up with either. do you have another video?

  • bracket racing noob!

  • no kidding eh! I try to ignore the ignorant comments if I can.

  • fast is fast, and in this case slow is slow, any way you slice it. noob to fast!

  • That Semi truck is faster than your average muscle car. Why dont you educate yourself on what bracket racing is before leaving stupid comments my videos, idiot.

  • you are using words like "faster" and Bracket" together. they arent together. Its all cool if your truck is consistent with your predictions and performs as you think it should, just dont confuse that with which machine is faster. the other 2 vehicles are faster in the 1/4 mile. period. there is a difference between bracket racing and plain drag racing.

  • You obviously have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. In a bracket race the slower of the two vehicles leaves the line first. The faster vehicle must catch up and cross the finish line first without "breaking out". I was there in person and saw the time slips. The Kenworth won both races and you are full of shit.

  • my kid's honda 250 can beat a harley.

  • Check out the rest of this idiots comments...lmfao

  • i dont believe it's honest to post thoses power numbers counting the nitro, the real numbers are on no.2 diesel only, sounds exagerated anyways

  • Who makes these rules for posting HP numbers on Youtube? The Truck is built to run on Nitrous Oxide at a race track. Warmup runs with no Nitrous produce 1800HP. Push the "happy red button" for a double 650HP shot of Nitrous. Do the math.

  • What is the Best 1/4 mile ET you have for it ?

  • 11.98 is the best quarter mile ET. Best MPH is 120.7 MPH (North American Speed Record for Quarter Mile)

  • @SmokinGunCrew Really?! At 3100HP you'd think it'd be quite a bit quicker in the 1/4. What gears are you running? And what is the weight of the truck? I'm sure the torque numbers are thru the roof.

  • @ohioguyshakes The gear ratio is a racing secret (sorry cant share that info). The truck weighs 9500lbs and does the quarter mile in 11.92 seconds at 120mph. Not bad for a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a refrigerator. Torque has not been measured but "through the roof" sounds accurate.

  • what engine is under the hood?

  • @SmokinGunCrew ah, wasn't aware the truck was still that heavy. I assume you've already performed all possible weight reduction.

  • @SmokinGunCrew how can torque numbers not have been measured? hp is derived from torque. HP = (Torque x RPM) / 5252

  • @ohioguyshakes remember it's still a semi

  • Thats amazing. My 12-71 TT is only making 1000hp with 9G90's.

  • I don't suppose you have any dyno vids of this do you? Not doubting the HP - its got to be a lot to get that speed in that weight - I'd just love to see it max out a dyno.

Also what kind of torque is this monster pushing?

  • We dont have video but a truck with identical engine did break a dyno before reaching 1600HP without nitrous and wasnt at full tilt yet. Dyno owner wasnt too happy.

  • Brilliant. It sounds awesome. I'd love to get me one of those. What kind of mods does it have to get to that level? Does it need rebuilding often?

Sorry for all the questions but this thing really got me interested.

  • Engine is rebuilt by TNT Racing in California about once per season. All Marine parts. Hybrid turbochargers. Unique nitrous setup.

  • I call BULLSHIT on the 3100HP...........

  • 1800 from the Detroit plus 1300 (2x650) shot of Nitrous makes 3100HP.

  • Wow thats alot of machinery to propel at that acceleration grats.

  • Poor U-joints.

  • that's quite the amazing piece of machinery.

  • awesome truck

  • 3100 pony power

  • if you have 3100 hp??????????? bouchard got 4000 hp

  • Sure buddy. Do you know anything at all about drag racing?? Probably not. Bouchard has around the same horsepower as the Smokin Gun but he has a heavier truck. That is why Bouchards best 1/4 mile time is only 13.1 at 104mph compared to our 11.9 at 120mph. Pull your head out of your ass.

  • Bouchard and Coga should bring their trucks to a REAL race track to race US. Then we can see who is faster and who has "more horsepower". Or you could post a video of either truck doing a quarter mile time faster than 11.98 seconds.

  • you forgot something, bouchard doesn't use nitrous and you do. SO Bye bye

  • you can do smoke with 200 hp truck wow

  • man i thought the farm i worked for had a fast 500hrs pete... but DAAAAAMN... thats haulin

  • Picture that motor in a highway truck. MOUNTAIN, WAT MOUNTAIN????

  • Puncho, it would be more like MOUNTAIN? BOOST? EGT's OH SNAP I melted holes in the pistons. REPLACEMENT engine?

  • The King!

  • Look how small the Kenworth is next to the red truck in the background (of course, the red on has a built-in RV behind the cab). And has the cab been chopped? Also, what kind of tire do these trucks use? Slicks? Regular truck tires are made for durability not traction. Jesus; I knew it was expensive to replace drag slicks on a car, but this beast uses twice as many! Good thing it's not a three-axle. How many runs can a set of four tires last anyway? The cost of drag racing always boggles me :O

  • The box behind the cab of the red truck is just a "drone box" or storage compartment. Yes, the Smokin' Gun's cab has been chopped. It wears hand built custom retreads for slicks which are 500 a piece. The slicks last about a season or 8 to 10 events with average 8 burnouts per event (sometimes more if we do parking lot burnouts at our Kenworth / Shell display BBQs)

  • thing is nassty,,, how much fuel does it burn for , a single Pass

  • That is fucking insane! What kind of engine does that truck run? And is it a V12? I could hardly believe that was a diesel when I first heard it rev up! And how much does it weigh? Has it been lightened, or is it still stock metal? How about the U-joints and differential, etc.? Can the stock ones handle that kind of power?

  • This truck has a Detroit Diesel 8V92. Twin Turbo with a double 650hp shot of Nitrous Oxide. The frame, u-joints and differential are all stock truck parts. It weighs 9500lbs. The only lightwieght mods done are: lighter front axel, shortened frame rails (4 feet cut out), and minus one of two drive shafts. Check out my Channel "smokinguncrew" to see more. 2009 videos coming soon!!

  • I read about the 92 series earlier. Funny, I just saw a V6 Detroit the other day, and was wondering about it. I'd never seen a V6 diesel before. I guess it was a 92. Would the fact that it's a 2-stroke explain why the revs sound so high (compared to a 4)? And you said that the stock engine has a supercharger? I don't really know all that much about semi-trucks, but was the second driveshaft removed along with an extra axle? Sorry, I don't want to be a pain; I like to know this kind of stuff.

  • No, I believe the truck was always only single axel. Origionally before being restored, the Smokin' Gun was a 1968 water truck. The second driveshaft was a shorter one that also hooked up to the rear axel. Im not sure exactly how it worked as I am just the photographer/detailer. Sorry.

  • what speed is it

  • what size injectors are you running, what are your turbos? I have a 4 turbo 8v 92 for pulling with a allison 750 crd powershift.

  • I wish I could tell you how but unfortunately that is a trade secret. The mechanic and driver dont even tell me these things.

  • how do u manage to push that much boost?? I got an 01' f250 powerstroke with the 7.3 i put a Turbonetics Twin Turbo set-up or something like that. i was pushing almost 40lbs of boost and i kept blowing head gaskets. How did u make it so u can push 90PSI???

  • Swapp a cummins and you will forget your heda gaskt...even at 90PSI and 750rwhp.

  • really that much boost with a stock truck? iono im not buying a cummins. To popular, when do u see a powerstroke thats as beast as that? not very often

  • Nice, how much boost you pushing?

  • 90 psi

  • How'd you come up with the 3100 number? Did you dyno the engine? And on what kind of dyno?

  • Another truck with the identical engine and modifications put down over 1500hp before breaking the dyno. That was withouth the double 600shot of nitrous oxide (extra 1200hp). So at least 2700hp, but probably more as the other truck was not at full boost or max rpm when it ran the 1500hp number. Apparently there is a calculation you can also do to estimate hp using quarter mile speed and elapsed time.

  • Yes two special hybrid turbos. The gear driven supercharger is bypassed.

  • Gear driven supercharger? I thought diesels were always turbocharged. I wondered why they didn't make supercharged diesels, but it's cool to know that they do.

  • 90 psi. boost is nothing how about a 92 that runs bouble that & runs 4600 rpm nearly 4000 hp.

  • Thats nice. Why don't you post a video of the truck doing a burnout or running a quarter mile pass.

  • it is not set up for drag racing it is set up for pulling it's a tandem weighing 20000 lbs. the smokin gun is very impressive I will give you that it takes more power to pull tahn drag race in a quarter mile my truck will burn down it only runs about 300 feet at a time.

  • Post a clip of THAT truck and maybe then i'll believe you, til then, search for the bandag bullet, that thing has some serious ponies. Two 92V's, 4 turbos and two blowers PLUS nitrous = lotza smoke

  • 2-stroke Detroit Diesels, weather (forgive my spelling) or not they have a turbo, still need a blower (AKA supercharger) do to the fact that they need it to not only force air into the engine, but to also help force it out again. If you're running both a blower (supercharger) and a turbo, the blower and turbo work together. In this process, the turbo recycles almost 75-80% of the power lost when using a belt or gear driven supercharger. You see, a supercharger uses the belts or gears of the

  • engine to help give the engine more power. But using a supercharger also robs your engine of cuight a bit of its own HP. While a turbo on the otherhand only adds power to your engine. The way a turbo works is that it recycles the ehaust (again my spelling) from the engine, runs it throught the intercooler, mixes it with fresh air, and runs it back it through the intake. that's all there is to it. -Will

  • So, it's something like a compound-turbo, only the blower is there because the turbo compressor can't scavenge the cylinders when the RPM's are too low? Without it, it would be like turbo-lag but ten times worse, since the turbo can't scavenge the cylinders until it spools up, but it can't spool up unless the engine revs faster. And the engine can't rev faster unless the cylinders are scavenged? LOL, that would be a Catch-22, I guess. Thanks for the info; at least I have the idea now, I hope =/

  • exactly.

dude, you're the first person that i explaned that to who actually understood what i meant the first time i said it. but ya, it's esentally a compound turbo style setup but with only 1 turbo and at supercharger replaceing the missing turbo. -Will

  • Awesome; I guess I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out. Half the time I already have a pretty good guess, but I ask anyway to be sure. It reminds me of the "twin-charger" in the Lancia Delta S4. That's set up with both blower and turbo, but only to eliminate lag, not because it's essential. I can't seem to find for sure whether it's a small, fast-spooling turbo with a high-geared blower, or a quick blower with a big turbo for the top end. Everyone says something different =/

  • I just looked that up, and it's quick blower witha big turbo. and just like you said before, it's only there to eliminiate lag. and i guess it works pretty well. -Will

  • that explaination of how a turbo works couldn't be more wrong. sorry.

  • 8v92 with 2 turbos?

  • Let say it's not "so" impressive. In my area, there's a guy with a Western Star that set the track record for a truck at New Hampshire's track with a time of 13sec/98mph. BTW the big rig has a conventional 18 speeds Fuller transmission and run on diesel fuel only (no NOS). The truck can be used on a daily base because it has a 5th wheel, a sleeper and all other factory equipment still bolted on. Only a seconde slower than this one... Not bad don't you think?

  • Yes we know of Eric Bouchard. He does have a very impressive Western Star. Its probably the fastest full size highway tractor in the world but he does not have the track record in New Hampshire. The Record belongs to Wayne Talkington in the Lucas 1 truck who runs consistant mid 11 seconds. Our best with the Smokin Gun is 11.92 seconds and 120mph in the quarter mile. Check out my 2008 St. Joseph video to see Bouchard Race against The Smokin. Awesome Burnout Footage!

  • Sorry bro' my info 'bout track record were picked from Bouchard's website (I wasn't there in N.H.)

Let say it's fucking fast for a full size highway tractor... It's barely unfair to compare truck like Lucas1 and Smoking Gun (build for tracks) to everyday tractors on steroïdes but as I can see, they're not far behind. Thanks for correcting me.

  • sounds like an 8v92 detroit

  • Good ear!

  • Rawr u beat me to it!!!
