so im going to sprint in a couple weeks & im trying to decide between the iphone 4s & the Evo 3d. So any insight would be great. I've been an Android owner for the passed couple years & i love them but it seems like the iphone 4s runs alot smoother & faster most of the time than any android i've seen. one of my biggest questions is 4g on the EVO 3d going to make much of a difference than just 3g on the iphone. I have had both phones the evo sucked, the camera was shit, the processor was shit, and it just felt like a cheep knock off of the iPhone, they sorta just stick features in there just so they can say they have them the iPhone has a much better camera, and it uses the processor better if you will notice the iPhone was faster even though the evo has a better processor, and android just copied the iPhone, anyways apple has an end to end user experience, android licenses out its software
@Xotech100 im sorry our false, the only reason iphone got to its stuff quicker is because they are shitier thing and its a weaker OS, evo 3d does have a worse camera but it has 2 for 3D so it wins, and when it came to actually performing it was better.
@Xotech100 also android is in no way the same as iOS is is much more powerful and even if you say iPhone has siri, i was to slow and less reactive than google's voice recognition.
@bigworm1195 It is not much more powerful, i have had both phones, Android always boasts about all these features, but they are just half ass stuff that they threw in there to say they had it, and the voice recondition is much more accurate on the iPhone, AND the Android system completely ripped off the iPhone, it stol the whole look and feel of an iPhone, and made a few modifications.

After 6 months with the evo 3D, I find its a chore to get to settings, I no longer like to use the phone. I want iTunes University in a beautiful iTunes setting, I want iTunes, Apple App Store, the centralized settings. I have used the camera alot on the evo 3d. The images look crisp and clear given the lighting is ok. the flash is very good and so is the 3d. although the 3d is near useless in dark lighting, i mean pitch black. Also you are not able to zoom in on the htc evo 3d whilst taking a 3d picture. another issue i have with the evo 3d is the touch sensitive keys at the bottom, atleast on mine you sometimes only have to hover your finger over (continue to next comment)
@BoxiieSoFoxiie (continued from comment 1) the bottom buttons and sometimes they press, which can lead to accidental pressing, but once you've clocked a few hours with it, youll soon learn how to not accidentally press them, so i wouldn't stress this as a great issue.and the physical camera button can move a bit if your running your hand over it.
But overall this is a beautiful phone, great screen, great camera, great look and feel not to mention a powerhouse.
@BoxiieSoFoxiie Overall pros and cons Pros Camera(back and front) screen resolution look and feel 3d Sense 3.0 Strong, dropped it a few times and only slightly grazes corners. Good flash Cons Sensitive keys not the best camera for motion or very dark environments 1 gb of internal storage, but comes with 8gb micro sd card, but i upgraded mine to a 32gb.

the 4S doesn't reflow text, but does use the reader feature in safari, so you can view just the text and pics of a particular article. It also removes all the ads! It looks much much nicer., and you can adjust text size to suit. having owned iOS and Android devices, i think using the Reader is much better choice than reflowing in terms of reading ease.
The Evo 3D is better.FOR THIS: 3D videos and photos, DLNA, USB HDMI Port,
Bigger Screen, you can Overclock the CPU to 1.8GHz , Ebook Reader , you can root the phone,etc. oh and you can play great games in 3D. like Nova 2-3D,spiderman 3D,asphalt6 3D,and more, the interface and animation is most better. live wall pappers, and of course is 4G Speed .. . so for this and more evo 3D is the best.

@urimizawe26 Go look at the Galaxy Nexus then come back. It has a higher resolution (fact) better colours because of Super AMOLED (fact) and it is debatable of who has the better app market because some people like more paid apps and some like more free apps.

@urimizawe26 If they make your eyes sting than the iphone makes your eyes bleed right. amoled has the most realistic colours and the deepest blacks, the whites have a bit of tint to them but as a whole they are much better than the ips display of the iphone. And there are other phones with higher res like the HTC Rezound and the LG Nitro HD and these are able to have higher with much larger screens. Just face it, Android can do anything better

Iphone 4s was outdated even WAY before before it even came out. EVO 3D has been out since June and iPhone came in like November. The fact that its the exact same externally and that you are locked in for 2 years is horrendous and I can't understand why people pay for a brand name like Apple. Android has all the advantages and i threw my ipod touch out on Craigslist the moment I got my 3D (something else iPhone dont got) plus I hate itunes and the annoying software I needed to update every DAY.

@yopranay The only thing you can use flash for on a smartphone is mediaplaying... But when it comes to playing flash games a smartphone it doesn't really work probably... And iphone got flash video converters so you can watch pretty much every single flash video on the internet, so I don't really see the problem. Can you explain to me when you would use flash on a smartphone?
@InnovationDesign You know, you really do have a point there :) But i mean like, there were a lot of things on my Evo i could see that i couldnt on my iPod when i was browsing... every once in a while (actually alot), i need to look up something on my text book when i not home... and this really helps me out atleast... and when im on websites of organizations, restaurants, ect. there are somethings that im told to look for but i can find on my iPod without Flash... In fact the only two things that apple has is it's "easier" to use out of the box, and it has the best STOCK music interface, PowerAMP kicks too much to not clarify stock
@jfwalken The technology behind Siri and Googletalk have been know for ages, and certainly not invented by google. The iphone is just better overall and is more smooth. It is not about having the things first, it is about making them good and useful. Althought I do like the idea about a opensource software for smartphones, I don't like the idea that google is controlling it. Iphone is just a better phone, it might be a bit expensive, but for the money you are buying a very solid, and good phone.

Both android and ios are great. In my opinion, without ios, android won't achieve what it has achieved right now. Same thing with ios, without android, ios won't be able to be as good as it is right now.
turns flash off for browser test, bc iPhone doesn't have it. haha. no camara test, which would show that Evo has 3D capability which iPhone also does not. Evo is just more advanced in almost every area, especially UI and OS features.
@EuroGunzPlayer Evo is also 4G. Evo is also Flash capable. Evo is also WAY WAY WAY more customizable. Evo also have REAL multitasking, not just recent-app-switching.
Only reason why EVO was a bit slower in loading apps is because of HTC's sense UI has lots of animations. iPhone would puff smoke if it tried to do what the EVO was doing

@urimizawe26 Go look at the Galaxy Nexus then come back. It has a higher resolution (fact) better colours because of Super AMOLED (fact) and it is debatable of who has the better app market because some people like more paid apps and some like more free apps.

@TheFryingPan16 super amoled has the most un-realistic, eye stinging colours ever my eyes got sore from looking at that phone, i knew a while back it had a higher res but thats probably the only phone that tops the res of the iphone. If im right, even apple's mere media player the ipod touch has a higher res than most top leading android phones. Its an embarrassment for android

@urimizawe26 If they make your eyes sting than the iphone makes your eyes bleed right. amoled has the most realistic colours and the deepest blacks, the whites have a bit of tint to them but as a whole they are much better than the ips display of the iphone. And there are other phones with higher res like the HTC Rezound and the LG Nitro HD and these are able to have higher with much larger screens. Just face it, Android can do anything better

Iphone 4s was outdated even WAY before before it even came out. EVO 3D has been out since June and iPhone came in like November. The fact that its the exact same externally and that you are locked in for 2 years is horrendous and I can't understand why people pay for a brand name like Apple. Android has all the advantages and i threw my ipod touch out on Craigslist the moment I got my 3D (something else iPhone dont got) plus I hate itunes and the annoying software I needed to update every DAY.

@yopranay The only thing you can use flash for on a smartphone is mediaplaying... But when it comes to playing flash games a smartphone it doesn't really work probably... And iphone got flash video converters so you can watch pretty much every single flash video on the internet, so I don't really see the problem. Can you explain to me when you would use flash on a smartphone?

@InnovationDesign You know, you really do have a point there :) But i mean like, there were a lot of things on my Evo i could see that i couldnt on my iPod when i was browsing... every once in a while (actually alot), i need to look up something on my text book when i not home... and this really helps me out atleast... and when im on websites of organizations, restaurants, ect. there are somethings that im told to look for but i can find on my iPod without Flash... I hope you understand mate :)

@InnovationDesign lol that's why google needs to hype like Macintosh, Googletalk came out in Summer 2010 which is one of the bases of Siri, rumors have Majel more responsive, Google had the quick pull up apps first, the notification bar, ROOTING DOESN'T VOID WARRANTY(my personal deal maker), unlimited apps and customization. In fact the only two things that apple has is it's "easier" to use out of the box, and it has the best STOCK music interface, PowerAMP kicks too much to not clarify stock

@jfwalken The technology behind Siri and Googletalk have been know for ages, and certainly not invented by google. The iphone is just better overall and is more smooth. It is not about having the things first, it is about making them good and useful. Althought I do like the idea about a opensource software for smartphones, I don't like the idea that google is controlling it. Iphone is just a better phone, it might be a bit expensive, but for the money you are buying a very solid, and good phone.

OK guys lets look at what ANDROID 2.3.X can do verses IOs X.
1. Iphone can use siri. Evo 3D uses the google voice search thing and other apps from android market.
2. Evo 3D can have 3D and normal widgets on the homescreen. Iphone cant do anything similar.
3. Evo 3D has quick settings. For iPhone you have to go into settings app to change anything.
4. Evo 3D has animations while sliding the pages AND has downloadable launchers from the market. On iPhone, you must jailbreak it.

Only reason why EVO was a bit slower in loading apps is because of HTC's sense UI has lots of animations. iPhone would puff smoke if it tried to do what the EVO was doing

Can you please start doing these comparisons with the brightness maxed out on both devices because i along with alot of people i know keep my brightness all the way up and i think that would give us a better idea of what the screens are capable of instead of their sensors. Thanks
