I own this plane and there right it is an excellent first edf . I would recomend this plane to anyone as a first edf it will fly very slow and semi fast . I fly it on a sky lipo 1300 mah 3 cell 11.1 volt battery and get 4 minutes of flight with my batterys down to 3.80 volt per cell after the flight , I fly it now just for fun, it will do excellent high alpha landings with out droping a wing .
Nice Tony! I like to see the mistakes. It helps in the learning curve. Tony, why did you upgrade ESC and not the radio? I'd also like to see retracts on the landing gear.
Thanks Antonio. Whenever possible, I try to learn from other peoples mistakes. I won't forget this one with future planes. You do great reviews and tips. Keep em coming.
Antonio, First off I want to say thanks for your honesty, you are one heck of a pilot!!! I have ordered several planes and a EDF F-4 from you all. I still have all of them and never had and bad issues with any planes I got. My only complaint is restocking, It takes so long to restock parts NitroPlanes should check inventory constantly and restock before parts or planes get to low. Thanks again for your Honesty. Mr BlueAngel11
its just like the old art-tech f-18, just new paint with the same servo prob on the ele. i lost mine on the 3 flight from that wire setup. if its under load it will bend and roll the jet, not good for noobs... why is your name nitroplanes if you dont stock nitro's?...
@Pono421 "why is your name nitroplanes if you dont stock nitro's?..." that's because they sell nitro models on their secret website "electroplanes. com"
Here is my issues with this review. If you sell a plane fly it how it comes stock. Do not go changing the battery and ESC. You should not be trying to push your higher end products. What you are saying is that the plane comes with a weak battery, weak ESC and bad wing placement instructions. My opinion is to demand better electronics from the manufacture or do not sell this plane. After watching this I would not recommend this plane to anyone wanting an RC electronic jet.
@photobart1 You nail it right on the head with this comment. This brand(Art-Tech) has been sketchy ever since. Check out Nitroplanes' stock of Art-tech brand Low amount says much
typical nitro planes..... they show you all the good parts of the flight and none of the bad as always... You guys SUCK. your website is barely ever updated. there are planes on it that arent even for sale anyomre because the sucked so bad. all of you products are comlete crap. And the you go and blind people on how amazing you think you are, when really your a bunch greedy people who dont care about the quality, just all about the money. I Will NEVER reccomend you to any self respecting rc piot
I'd rather see a mishap than a perfect flight made from a bunch of clips of a bunch of flights making both the plane and pilot look absolutely perfect. I am not sure why you didn't stick with the structured flights like you did with the ww2 dc3. Fly circuits, stalls, show the bad and good habbits of the plane. Sorta shows the plane's capabilities a whole lot better than the perfect takeoff, race track, landing, etc.
Hey. What's up with Art-tech with stocking u guys with replacement parts? Not for nothing but art-tech has supplied little to no spare parts. Why should (we) customers buy this brand when there r no replacement parts 4 it. Plz foward this message to Art-tech.
does it have more battery space? Does hobbypartz carry electronic reverse servo connector leads(they should). The servo rod will bend under high speeds. That's NO good. And Yes, rudders should be added as u metioned.
Antonio. Antonio antonio. Charles from NY. Thank u so much for ur honest flight review. My comment is all jet should have carb-fiber rods where ever needed 4 support Period. It's a must.
Antonio, by you guys showing that video, you guys when up several notches in my book for credibility. I've never had any issues with ordering from nitrorcx or hobbypartz (haven't ordered thorugh nitroplanes yet). I really apprecieate you showing that even the "pro's" make mistakes, and the good ones are not afraid to show their mistakes.
Thanks Antonio for showing that you even have a bad flight. I'm no where near ready for these types of aircraft but I enjoy watching you,Tony, Bobby fly on here. Great videos
It was very generous of you to take the blame for the failures of the prototype. Thanks for trying your best to make a prototype test look successful. As a modeler with 40 years in the hobby, I have to disagree with you on several points. That prototype F-18 is not acceptable for marketing as it is.
Thanks for being so honest ,any other CO , would hide that . I all ready had the art tech F-18 take off grass , they fly great and i always clean the paint and even punch some small holes with pen so this way i have more grip with epoxy .
Antonio what a great video this has to be one of your best not making fun because you explain what happen and how not to make the same mistake, keep those videos coming
Thanks for the honesty on the crash and for the tips on how to avoid. I am not a fan of the bent control rod. If I pick this up might have to look for a Y connector that reverses one servo lead. Could a person install the servo the other way around, so it was pointed the opposite way to the other side, and thus operating in the same direction? Would that not be better than a bent rod? Just curious.
Great looking plane, the F18 is my favorite jet. Really want this one.
Thanks for showing the crash, it's good to know what happened, and how to avoid it. I'm looking into getting an EDF, or maybe even making a foam model and adding my own EDF unit. I think it would be fun and I'm a Mechanical Engineering major who wants to design the future of aviation so it might be a good idea to make my own RC plane for experience.
Rc manufacture should start to put control horn on top of the elevator ( pull is better than push in high speed ) so worst case possible, you still have control of your elevator ( if they mount the control rod on the bottom of the elevator, if you control rod flex, you cant pull up because the control rod is way too flimsy and cant withstand the strong wind during a high speed dive )
but if your control horn is on top on your elevator, during a dive you can still pull up ( save a lot of crashes
7:33 that control rod should be straight, a bend control rod will flex during high speed ( a dive ) and might make the split elevator move 2 different ways and make your plane do some weird roll when you try to pull up ( kinda like elevon )
for the wings you could carv just a couple of holes and fill them up with what ever glue you want and mabye add some bambo skewers or tooth picks to reenforce it
crashes are awsome but sad its fun to watch so why not show us
