@Jotermets I still own the cassette tape version of their album, "Sing" - and it's as awesome today as it was in the 80's when I picked it up after a performance of theirs at Opryland during Christmas. I was only 11 years old, but that performance kicked off my desire to sing and I haven't stopped since! Glad to find this :)
My daughters went to high school with the Harringtons and were in a number of musical productions with them. They still have the most gorgeous sound, such an incredibly talented family. Sure wish they'd put out a CD. They need a David Foster to "discover" them! Love you guys!!
Great singing...but my favorite part is the littl boy who just comes trucking through the middle of the quartet the whole time they are singing..."yeah, they're okay...but, where did i leave my pitchpipe?" Ha. :)
They are The Harrington Brothers. One of my all time fav qtets. They placed 10th their first international in 1981 as KIDS. Then 7th. Then they sat out a year and came in 4th. Then in 1985 they placed 4th again and never competing again. The two on the right formed Second Edition who won in 1989. And that is who they are! : )
Thanks Kipp! Jeeze, hearing this, I don't doubt they could have won it together somewhere along the way! That's some power-barbershop right there! haha

Good grief! Doug is singing tenor on this... Freakin' awesome!

Doug always sang tenor with the brother combo. It wasn't until Second Edition that he sang baritone I believe.

@kitzmiller100786 That's correct. I saw the Harrington Brothers medal in the mid 1990s. Look up Second Edition at AICGold.com for their bio info.

@SingersLeader The Harrington Brothers weren't in contest in the 90s. They medalled in the 80s.
kitzmiller100786 8 months ago
@kitzmiller100786 Sorry. It was a typo on my part. ;-) They were in the top five in 1986 which was the first year I attended the SPEBSQSA convention.
