If x men was centered around any other mutant nobody would watch it. Wolverine's cool because he doesnt have that many powers and he's not that strong but he still wins. Scott is supposedly one of the stronger mutants on the team yet he constantly gets his ass whooped. The is no other mutant that can replace Wolverine. He's like batman in justice league, he's one of the weaker members but he's the most valuable teammate they have.

I don't know why Marvel insists on making Wolverine the important character when there are far better and more powerful mutants to use. That's the regret I got from the movie trilogy it would have been better if it centered on other characters rather than Logan.

just to make it clear, the reason why Cyclops wasnt chosen to lead the X-Men is becuz he's too distraught about Jean to be a logical thinker and be a leader, which is why Wolverine was chosen, Storm was in Africa at the time so she couldn't take the role
