@midairman Well put! The majority of "fans" are consumers, not enthusiasts or aficianados. They see music as a commodity, not art. Releasing different albums that all sounded like the Downward Spiral but "heavier" would have sold more music and satisfied the demands of the masses. Ironically, artists like TR that explore new sounds and flirt with different genres here and there are accused of being "sellouts"...for doing what they feel instead of what sells. So wrong.

@NightmareFuelTV Yes, that's just absurd. People these days :/ I agree about the masses... Luckily, there are still people such as you and me who know how to appreciate good music. I'm gonna be honest: never gotten much into the slip and year zero... but when I listen to them, I can feel the work TR put into it. It's different, but it's still nine inch nails. Timeless sounds.

This song is beautiful. Makes me think of an destroyed ballroom in an endless wasteland. A girl will walk down the steps of the ballroom, sees the emptiness. The dust circulating and the rubble collapsing. (Distortion comes in) Her sight will be blinded by fantasy. She will see plump fairies circulating the air on umbrellas, elegant dancers and lovers wearing mask will commit to swaying of the music. Color pours in the abandoned ballroom, the girl won't feel like the last living soul anymore...
