  • Dear parents - There is a new way to protection children on the internet !

    Join snipeslider in Facebook :-)

    Watch this video:

    youtube.com/watch?v=aYICOhKYA1Q

  • Can you wear you shirt any lower...looking for attention eh!!!

  • These sites are a great way to keep in touch with friends!

  • Informative!

  • It's a great way to connect!

  • Do you think its okay to meet people from other places and all that in myspace, facebook etc etc ? because my mom said i'm not aloud to use any social networking site because of that. I know i should do what she says but i just don't think meeting people from other places is a bad thing.

  • Parents need to chill, this world needs to chill too.

  • I teach art to high school students and next door is the computer lab. Very often I can catch kids texting each other sexual messages, almost every time I catch them doing something bad, it's usually oriented around sex. I will often catch them planning parties, or watching violent videos... for the most part all of that is fairly harmless if you have already taught your child how to use discretion and be responsible. Yet there is always dangers of predators, sexual and financial.

  • Dwnlad this in awesome quality now just Search Google 'TheNewsBuzz"

  • Great video, I love how you talk about why you use social networking sites because most people don't even know why they use them. :D

  • It's not for communication actually, it's was the idea, but teens don't use it for that, let's not be naive, they are used mainly as an AD, a free and easy way to offer themselves to the world, a way to sell themselves. Most teens and woman will get mad cuz I say it, but cuz it's true they get mad, let's be honest, just browse and you will see..

  • Facebook and MySpace has redefined the word friend, no longer means what it used to. What I don't get is why some people brag about how many "friends" they have on Facebook, etc. I think Facebook is great for helping to stay in touch with my family and real friends (the people that I would otherwise be calling on the phone or have face to face contact with). Just like anything else, just don't let it take over your life and you'll be ok.

  • HAWTTTT X

  • you're hot

  • Social Networking is good, but if you really want to build your social and profressional network together than eZdia is for you. You may like to join eZdia and start connecting with the world

  • Teens definitely use social networking as their main form of communication these days. Literally everyone I know has some form of account!

  • Social networking sites are a waste of money and completley pointless and stupid.

  • Social networks are the new way to get in touch with friends/family etc. I am deeply and affectionately in love with facebook!

  • you look fucking hot!!

  • seconded :)

  • some people like to find other people who they dont know on thses sites and date them...which i find weird and creepy.

why i use these sites are to be friends with people whoi have the same things in comman, and i can express all the many many things i like all on one page which is easier. some girls take very slutty pics of them in a bra or underswear and showing cleavage which i think is very wrong. lastly the internet can also be dangerouse

  • Social networking is a huge part of a teens life and definitely something parents should know about.

  • social networking has taken over my school..everyone talks about facebook although i don't even use it. It has taken over teen's lives!

    good video!

  • I think social networking is an integral part of a teen's life now. It's the new 'hang out spot'.

  • I don't like social network sites like myyearbook, myspace, and facebook......all you see is attention whores posting nude pics of themselves or in their underwear......

  • [{free nudeteengirl(d0t)com}]

    ROFLbr/br/This song is hilarious.

  • well said (Y)

  • your hot:P

  • huh brainwashed by zionists.. feel sorry for people like you.

  • YOU ARE BORING !!!!!!!!!

  • good to know thxs need the info need it for my project in my studies

  • Back to the video, I think privacy is the most risky area. Young teens (I'm 20) seem to innocently, naively whatever, upload images and information about them and just about anyone sees this.

It is just like sticking your details on a board and holding it in the town center.

  • it depends what people can take from these details, if your putting up your adress or something, people know where you live, which is a bad thing [metaphor], whereas if your just sticking up which films you like, and maybe what you did last weekend, what harms it going to do? its be like sticking up a notice saying "Bob went to the seaside at the holiday - this is him". Harmless.Think about it, if we're so afraid of people seeing us, why do we ever venture outside our homes

  • Very Good Video! Hope the parents and teens see this!

  • i look at porn lol sorry. i just go online beacuse i really had to quit my lifestyle it was getting dangerous :} and you misspelled facebook

  • Good presentation :) My parents understand it but they do think it is not really good to do that kind of "presentation" of yourself on myspace.. some people manipulate pictures and try to make themselves appear perfect, and that puts people under pressure, makes them feel either superior or inferior.. and that sometimes is a part that makes my like these platforms less, too. What do you think?

  • lol i still rather go back to being a child soldier then myspace and such. since almost everyone i meet is either rude, thinks there ugly, wants to fight, wants to flirt, or just trying to get highest number. I mean come on is this really what life is about now?

  • ur really preety

  • what i dont get about social networking is. What makes the entire user population so audacious to think people give a shit about what they like, wear or do?

  • i know people who litrally spend all day looking at their myspace or facebook, its incredibly sad.

Its usually the people who tell others they have no social life....

  • I love that David Itzkoff quote which reads.

"There will come a moment when, like deer quivering and flicking up their ears toward a noiseless noise in the woods, the first adopters will suddenly realize they're spending their time blogging, adding, and gawking at the same alarming photos as an army of 14-year olds, and quick as deer, they'll dash to the next trend. And before you know it, we'll all follow".

Pretty much sums it up for me.

  • I can agree. I ditched MySpace in 07 because it gradually became a haven for emo-folk and attention whores. Exceptions were the bands, that was okay.

    Though Facebook. =/ Yuck!

  • ASK A GEEK.

  • so you wanna go to a movie with someone who just stumbled upon your facebook profile and read your interests? i wouldnt do that.

  • courosa-

Thank you! Feel free to use it, I give this presentation all the time because it is a really important topic for teens to be informed about. Marketing and teens is a huge issue. Our generation doesnt mind being marketed to I think as long as it is entertaining. We like the idea of google keeping track of our search terms and displaying better ads-its more efficient and that is what we are all about!

    Vanessa

  • Vanessa, as a parent I am more concerned about my daughters safety, which I believe often becomes confused with privacy. I worry when they use their school name or where they live. I would love for you to address this issue especially concerning tweens and young teens.

  • Hi there

Yes, our idea of privacy is totally different, I will def try to address this more, I actually talk about it a lot when I talk to teens themselves so they realize that 'privacy settings' are not always true.

    Vanessa

  • I agree with you that there is a generational gap when it comes to the idea of privacy. Very good thoughts for parents!

  • Well done and well articulated. I will likely use this in my presentations to faculty, teachers, students, etc. I have one question though. One thing you don't seem to address is the awareness of marketing. You distinguish between privacy of your generation and other old generations, and you say when you display your music and movie interests, etc., that you don't mind displaying this. However, that data is key for Facebook's marketing analysis, your information is bought and sold. Thoughts?

  • you spelt "FAEBOOK" wrong. it's facebook

  • you look really hot in this one!
