@larrym5150 it seems to be a very common thing for people to hate new MMOs and compare them to the current older ones. Still I prefer to give this MMO to develop first since most new MMOs will start out similar to the current older MMOs but as they get older themselves the New MMOs will become more unequal.
On an additional note, why are so many idiots being prejudiced towards this game simply for its space combat? It is not intended to be played just for space combat, they probably learned from SWG's failure.

I have this ordered but have zero intention of playing it till the business model fails as has happened in almost every one of these that has come out. Most of them seem to go free to play within a year. If Champions, Star Trek Online, and Galaxies are any indicator this will be free to play by end 2012.

I generally hate shooters in any form, be they ground 3rd/1st person, or airborn flight sims of any kind. But this... this had me addicted from the moment I started.

@Ulver27 Agreed. The Space Combat in SW:TOR is GARBAGE. It shouldn't be Arcade-like at all. It's no fun, gets boring really fast and isn't even rewarding. We wanted Space Exploration where you can actually control the ship, and Space-PvP, just like SW:Galaxies! Never going to bother with a single Space-Combat quest in SW:TOR, because it's just terrible. Waiting until they patch in the REAL Space Combat and not this crappy minigame...

This is not the actual game, it's a small mini-game within the real game (SWTOR) - It's not a viable form of end game progression but it's something to do for FUN
Bioware has said if the demand for actual 3D space combat is high then they will consider a re-make of the space combat.

Can't help but be a little disappointed with the space combat, x-wing and Tie-fighter are what twenty years old? Im sure they had their reasons but i don't know why they couldn't let you fly around wherever you want and have dogfights etc, hope they fix that in an expansion at some point.

Man, I really prefer the space stuff in SWG. It feels a little more like a space simulator. You know, sitting in your cockpit in the first person, your friends sitting at diagnostic screens to keep the ship healthy, and more of your friends in the newly upgraded gun turrets ready to vaporize some black sun raiders. And ther you are, barking out orders over voice chat, and you feel like you're relly the captain of a starship for a while. Good times...

That space combat is lame!! Every thing is just flying toward you instead of really moving in 3 dimensions. It was lame in the 80's and its still lame now. Try the alysrazor fight, thats real 3D.

Man, I really prefer the space stuff in SWG. It feels a little more like a space simulator. You know, sitting in your cockpit in the first person, your friends sitting at diagnostic screens to keep the ship healthy, and more of your friends in the newly upgraded gun turrets ready to vaporize some black sun raiders. And ther you are, barking out orders over voice chat, and you feel like you're relly the captain of a starship for a while. Good times...

That space combat is lame!! Every thing is just flying toward you instead of really moving in 3 dimensions. It was lame in the 80's and its still lame now. Try the alysrazor fight, thats real 3D.

@ubrs1138 And think about the space fighting in Star Wars Galaxies; it was so confusing! You never knew where the bad guys were, your weapons and engines could be destroyed, making you a sitting duck, and the controls were garbage!

@MyGamer125 if you like RAIL type game play rather than having freedom to fly . then i guess you do if not this is pure garbage . this is the one major disappointment ive had in the game that ive seen. i want the freedom to fly my ship where i want ,how i want . not stuck on a fixed coarse , like lego starwars or clonewars adventures .

STAR STAR STAR !!!! wars, and the space combat will be LINEAR !! it suposed to be the greatest fuckin game of starwars and all the space part will be fuckin linear !!!! seriously im a big fan of starwars but I spit on this game and I never I'll pay 14$ a month +80$ the game for a game who could make me hate starwars....
