Sonny never ever went to school and endured hellish stereotyping but he was no fool and those who actually got close to him always spoke of his smarts, droll sense of humour and nice line in wit. I think he both understood and enjoyed being in with someone like Warhol (another successful person whom the media still denigrated and trashed) to do this sneaky little pisstake of cheesey celebrity-endorsement shill. And pocketed a decent fee.
this is SOooo damn funny to me! ; ) Liston giving the cold stare that made a lot of fighters sh*t their pants! ... except Muhammad Ali. thanks for posting this!
@allmightymouse Ali shit his pants to the point of acting crazy from the fear. Read comments from those who were there with Ali. Liston was great at scaring the hell out of the small under 200 lb fighters of his time.
That was before men were "allowed" to be "flight attendants" in the USA. That was a job for "wimmin'" or "gals" as tboorish business travelers called them. If you get a chance to see "Mad Men" , the series on AMC (US Cable), you will definitely get the sense of the times. But Andy had his own "flight attendants" at 860 Broadway in NYC!

I am disturbed by the dubbing....I guess his voice was too “swishy” for them.

Sonny was not sure that Andy wouldn't punch him.

We wish we could see a replay of Liston and Ed Sullivan comparing muscles.

Sonny's wit was quicker than Clay's; he would have been a hell of a good actor.
