Probably the best scene in the entire movie. Amazing acting. Chills run up my spine when all three of them realize that they have become animals - or worse - human.
I saw most of "Runaway Train" on A&E when I was a kid and I REALLY ENJOY this film, especially for the train and the acting. The train is the REAL star of this GREAT film.
No es posible que esta película no obtuvieras varios oscar, es increible que voight tuvo que dejar de conversar con sus compañeros de film, porque todas sus nergias las aplico al personaje, y no pudo ganar el oscar, increible movie.
@ColdBishop...For fans of the music around 5:30 I highly reccomend a VERY SIMILAR and beautifully sad song called ''Anoranza'' by Elfonia....not kidding here
I love this film, one of the last good rail-films of the 20th century. (Taking of 123, is the closet, but no heavy duty trains like this film, in the 21 century.)
You don't know what you can do and what you can't do. Eric Roberts is still more talented then most. Thanks for the gift. It feels like it is my birthday
In many ways this is a brilliant film. However, I always found Voight's performance (and accent) to trivialize the more important aspects of the picture. Voight is a great actor on the whole, but his protrayl of Manny was too over-the-top for me.
Its only "over the top" because you've never seen anything like that before and, you will never see acting like that again. Certainly not from anyone around today.
I say finding acting this good, writing this great, music this superb, editing this smooth, direction that masterful, pacing so perfect as Runaway Train in today's time is like trying to get two chinese pandas to fuck. 25 years of age matured this movie like a fine wine that washes the after taste of Michael Bay and reality TV from my mouth.
Thanks for posting this hard-hitting scene (although anyone who hasn't seen the movie should definitely be watching it on DVD and not YouTube). Can't wait for the Bluray (since the DVD wasn't anamorphic... argh!) Win. Lose. What's the difference?
Fuck it, can't watch this scene without crying. It's so real you can taste it.

You know, Manny reminds me of R. Lee Ermey tearing into some maggot in Basic at Parris Island.
And just think: Ranken's been trying to break Manny for years without success. And here Buck does it with just a few words.

An evaluation in this case is too easy: one of the best movies ever. It seems just an action movie, but it is much much more! Thanks for this video!

Most underrated movie of the Eighties. It's a crime that it's not on Blu-ray.

One of the greatest, most powerful scenes about human nature in movie history. Great, and under appreciated movie.

I get the point about "I'm worst than an animal. I'm human" and then she starts screaming "kill him, Kill him..." The scene is raw
