  • Kobkob4,

Awesome! I was looking into making some more light weight ones. I will have to look for these bats at Wal-mart. Thanks for sharing!!

  • I made pair of nice 2-3 pound clubs using foam covered plastic bats available at walmart. The cost is $5 each and the come with removable caps wich makes the filling process quite easy. Mine are completely filled with sand and they are very functional.

  • Coach shreck,

What is the trade name of the foam spray you used.

    Thanks

    Roland

    Roland,

I honestly don't remember what the name of the foam sealer was. I picked it up at the local hardware store. It has worked great though!!

    "Great Stuff" greatstuff.dow.com

I have used "Great Stuff" around the house as a gap filler. There's probably other brands out there. greatstuff.dow.com

  • Hi Coach Shreck

I was wondering if you have any more youtube videos with the exercises you can do using your home made Indian club bell. Great videos, thanks for the info! I am going to attempt making one soon.

  • @TheCanuck15

I don't but I could probably put up another video in the near future.

  • I made a set on the lathe...it was cool, but they only weight about 2 pounds each. I'll try this

  • Brilliant! - I'm off to Toy's R Us and Home Depot!

  • MrStitch105,

I was wondering if you made any and if so what are your thoughts?

  • I was going to make a couple clubs on my wood lathe, but this seems even easier to make. I guess I'll find out tomorrow

  • Wonderful illustration of a homemade training tool. A couple of questions, first regarding safety, I'm keen on trying this but it seems to go against all the precautions we were always taught when using weights like keeping things tight & controled and repeating an exact straight motion & shoulder rotation

Would this increase or decrease the likelihood of a shoulder rotation injury or a pulled muscle?

Whats a good starting weight I read somewhere 2 lbs but I see you went straight to 8 lbs?

  • drovdrov,

Thank you for the comment! The idea for which I am using the bat is for shoulder mobilization. Although I am swinging it-it is in a controlled motion and not out of control. If done right-this will decrease the likelihood of a shoulder problem. My shoulders have been feeling great. Yes, you should start off very light 1-2 lbs. I have a lot of experience swinging objects around my head so 8 lbs is easy for me to keep under control. .

  • The weight of the club is around 8 lbs. I will need to weight it but it turned out great!

  • Great Video....what is the weight of the club?
