  • Good version of this song. A pleasure to hear it. Looking forward to seeing The Pooh Sticks at the Globe in Cardiff on Sat 3rd September 2011. Will be totally gutted if they don't play it then!

  • THIS IS HISTORY MEN!!

  • i played a gig in Swansea at Sin City a couple of years ago. it was supporting New Model Army with my band Chinese Burn.

between songs i commented "one of our favourite bands is from Swansea - The Pooh Sticks!"

no-one cheered. what abunch of tossers.

  • awesome!! the pooh sticks! great song!

  • 復活してたんですね!

    最高です!!!

  • I've posted a long-winded reply to all this on the Pooh Sticks Facebook page.

  • By the way: 'thedyingfly' is now happy that 'StevePoohStick' isn't me and has banned him from commentating. Now, if we could get 'StevePoohStick' to tell us who he really is...!!

  • I had nothing to do with the gig - specifically asked that it shouldn't be done. I'm disappointed that "Young People" was in the set - great song, but it's long been known that there's a 'problem' with it. Also, I have nothing to do with Spotify, iTunes or any other current use. I've sometimes been asked to include the track on a compilation but I've always said no. I would happily allow it - with a label-credit for Griff and H! - once they've registered the song. But until then: no.

  • Update: I messaged 'StevePoohStick' asking who he really is! He answered his name was Steve (no more details), and suggested that I was pretending to be him. Apparently he's 'blocked' me now. Anyway, I've reported the impersonation to YouTube, so we'll see if anything gets done!

  • 'StevePoohStick' here on youtube isn't me. Who knows who it really is? Pretty pathetic really.

I have posted re this whole issue on the Pooh Sticks Facebook page.

About this performance: it was nothing to do with me, I wasn't involved. And if I had been I'd certainly not have played "Young People"!

  • Interesting stuff, although the Pooh Sticks were always fairly open about stealing/ripping off much of their material. I doubt Andrew Griffiths is that much out of pocket from it though as I don't think the Pooh Sticks ever managed to get into the Top 40, and this was at a time when music sales were in decline (still are) and loads of Indie bands were making the charts.

  • Thanks to Andrew "Griff" Griffiths and Hywel "H" James of the Love Nazis for writing this song - sorry bout the royalty cheque lads but you know... business is business
