Beside the failed control of the collapse, I do not understand why he had to trow reserve. He could have used the residual time in a more productive way: unleashing the harness and getting ready to get wet.
Actually watching it again and listening to the comments at the end it was perhaps a little to windy to deploy the reserve over the water safely. As you risk getting dragged along with your head below the waters surface by the inflated reserve ...
It's SIV/Pilotage course and he ended up a bit low after the last wingover and couldn't make the glide back to the beach. As he would have ended up in the water his reserve would have got wet and would have needed drying and repacking. Therefore it is a good opportunity to throw the reserve to experience important things like reaching for the handle, tossing it and then disabling the paraglider. All good practise.
This is Firebird Hornet SP i have one too :)

can someone explain to me why the second one threw his reseve?
I mean, he was already safe when he grabbed it and he would land just as safe with is main wing in water.

the description dont explain why he threw the reserve.
it just says due to a water landing.. but a water landing issnt a reason to throw a reserve when your main is ok.,

Great control. Came a bit close to getting wrapped in the wing there? Did you have time to unbuckled before splash down?

Looked like 1st wing had bad recovery characteristics, it behaved like a crazed magpie.
