barentsburg is a dump. as a norwegian i could not believe the polution, which is more visible in winter due to the black snow. it's a shithole. which is a shame, because the people are nice, i have a ukrainian friend who moved from barentsburg to longyearbyen. he now lives in norway and has a much better life
