I have a 'thing' for the Murcielago and Corvette ZR-1 because of looks and engine noise, but honestly if I had to choose one of these(they all cost around the same more or less) I'd have the SLR merc.
It's just the noise of the engine, so powerful and unique and is suppose to be comfortable and quiet when your just cruising aswell so can use it for longer amounts without getting tired sleepy it.
But this video... if you had that LP-640 in usual mad green it'd turn alot more heads than that =P

I think some people didn't understand me when i see thumbs down, its not that i don't like the lambo (ITS MY FAVOURITE CAR!!). When i look at a a Lambo it looks like a tiger who is going to eat you. @LA12312 totally agreed...so in the end the SLR still wins because it's what got everyone to come to the spot in the first place lol. Either way after being in each of the cars ('regular' Murcielago though), the SLR is my favorite of the bunch no contest. The ONLY thing I wish it had would be a manual gearbox, but the auto isn't bad anyway...it's the one that I'd take in a heartbeat. (2nd would be CGT)
The reason why the SLR is dead last is because it's a Merc. Get in your bucket and drive out the nearest road or highway and count how many Merc. you see. They are everywhere, and the SLR front end design looks like a regular Merc. SL. Now the Carrera GT looks nothing like a standard Carrera...and Lambo well it's a Lambo....lowest price tag is still way over 150 grand.
I would go for the SLR cause it is the fastest out of all of them anyways which most peopel dont know the power of German engineering!!! its just the look of the Lambo thats all....mercedes can make a shape like the lambo and the you will see heads turn alot more but over all the SLR!!!!!! baby all the way that thing is a rocke from god!!!!!!!!

I love the SLR..and the front is just so beautiful ...with the tristar , gorgeous headlights ..everything is so flushed. but the only thing is people are used to seeing SL500 and S class on the road..most will look ..but some people who dont know much will think its just another merc. The new 722, has got a more outstanding look.
the murcie used to be one of those cars in my head that meant something until i met a guy that owns one and i got to sit in it now i would rather have just about any other sports car beacuse it is way to jet cockpit like hard to see and very uncomfortable his ferrari 360 is alot more comfy and liveable i just need to convince him to get a slr although prob not he's a track guy
The cheaper and slower won xD. I love Lambos but the LP 640 with its great sound is not as fast as 210 mph how they say because it needs massive highway. That's the way how it's cheaper but still lovely :D

Good question but easy to answer. They can choose from a collection of cars to drive which is usually less cost incurred than owning one. No maintenance required, no storage fees, high insurance fees, etc. Also, with joining these clubs, members get exclusive access to sponsored events, parties, etc.
For 5 + 17k/year you get 100 points. gets you the chance to drive a myriad of cars you would otherwise have to rent or buy. Much more expensive to buy. Plus being being a member of this club brings prestige and a sense of belonging.
they have a better club here in new york. it's called the classic car club, and its only $7,500 each year. they have a ford gt, lambo gallardo, bmw m5/m3, audi r8, and some old ferrari 328's, porsche speedsters, etc. i think they have like 80 cars. i'm saving up now. i'm only in high school, lol, so i should be the youngest person to join it XD

This was pretty predictable...suppose if you go by brand then the Mercedes is merely a common car compared to the Lambo and Porsche. Lambo and Porsche are probably so "cool" in fact that guys probably already feel cool just by showing everyone that they admire them by stopping to look.

You're missing the point bud, I can make a Nissan Sunny GTiR that would rape the corvette for half the price. It's about style and quality. Anyone that would take any chevvy over any lamborghini needs their head examined, or a better career. ;)
My point is that the Corvette gives you much better performance at a fraction of the cost. And yeah, you can mod the crap out of any car to make it faster than say a corvette. But the Gallardo really isn't even that good of a car. I mean it's good... but it's not worth $180k. The Murceilago is a much better value imo. You get much better performance and it doesn't cost that much more.
imo, performance-wise the Corvette is AMAZING for the price... the Gallardo on the other hand is just Ok for the money. It just looks cooler... but not $110k cooler.
umm, not really. If you want a car that's built for the track, the Corvette is the way to go... no questions asked. Just because you can afford a Gallardo doesn't change the fact that the Corvette is a better value. If I could afford a Lambo, I would go for the LP640. Now THAT'S a badass car.

Well there are 3,066 Murciélagos build (all versions but to be honest in this test it does not matter which version it is since it is just parked).
There are a bit less SLRs build although they had planned for 3,500.
1,270 Carrera GTs ware ever produced so most exotic probably is the Carrera.

How crap. I rented a Lambo once in Monacco but that wasnt so people would stop and fucking stare at me. It was so I could drive an amazing car. People that buy sportscars to look cool. they all buy rubbish porches and look gay.

Meh, Gallardos are nothing special. They look alright, but performance-wise a stock Corvette Z06 could beat it at 1/3 the price.

You're missing the point bud, I can make a Nissan Sunny GTiR that would rape the corvette for half the price. It's about style and quality. Anyone that would take any chevvy over any lamborghini needs their head examined, or a better career. ;)

My point is that the Corvette gives you much better performance at a fraction of the cost. And yeah, you can mod the crap out of any car to make it faster than say a corvette. But the Gallardo really isn't even that good of a car. I mean it's good... but it's not worth $180k. The Murceilago is a much better value imo. You get much better performance and it doesn't cost that much more.

imo, performance-wise the Corvette is AMAZING for the price... the Gallardo on the other hand is just Ok for the money. It just looks cooler... but not $110k cooler.

umm, not really. If you want a car that's built for the track, the Corvette is the way to go... no questions asked. Just because you can afford a Gallardo doesn't change the fact that the Corvette is a better value. If I could afford a Lambo, I would go for the LP640. Now THAT'S a badass car.

Yeah, I know. Obviously, if I had more money than I knew what to do with, then yeah I would take any of these cars over the Vette anyday because they have that "coolness factor" But that still doesn't change the fact that the Corvette offers the same if not better performance at a fraction of the price.

What's not to know about? Facts are facts buddy. The Corvette is built for the track, the Lambo is a high-performance sports car but is more luxurious and a status symbol.
I don't think anyone will argue that performance-wise, the Vette is the better value.
Z06 Vette- 505HP, 470 lb-ft, 0-60 in 3.7sec- $75k
ZR1 Vette- 638HP, 604 lb-ft, 0-60 in 3.3sec- $105k
A Lambo Gallardo- 520HP, 376 lb-ft, 0-60 in 4.1sec-$180k

You guys don't understand, I'm not saying the Corvette is a better car overall than the Lambo, it's not. The Lambo is a hand built Italian sportscar made to stand out from the rest and to perform. The Vette is a custom built car built for one thing: performance. And the ZR1 around 14 seconds faster around the Nurburing than the fastest Lambo, the LP640. 14 seconds is a good bit slower bud.
Anyway, yes the Lambo is cooler, yes the Lambo is more fun to drive, yes it is fast, but is it perfect? no

Well, the Lamborghini is very expensive. But not for a car with that status. People buy Corvette to perform some bullshit on a track. People who buy a Corvette for everyday usability are weird. But the Corvette is cool on the outside.

nah dude they're not that bad. ever sat inside one? they're very comfortable for me (i'm 6'5''), and they have 22.4 cubic feet of cargo space (that's more than a mercedes s-class. plus, they get similar fuel mileage to a base vw jetta (jetta averages 25 mpg, corvette c6 averages 24). so how are they not good for every day usability?

Just because people stop to look at the car does not mean that they appreciate the car or like it. If I were walking by I would notice the Porsche because it is flashier than the SLR. However, the SLR is understood to be the better car. The Lambo on the other hand, is just nuts looking. LIke a stealth bomber. That will for sure turn heads. Good piece.
