what about in the san juan islands, any recommended spots without ripping tides? im just starting to spear fish and it would be awesome if you knew a good spot to shoot some lincod or rock fish.
If you are into diving the north coast for abalone and fish you need to check out these 2 web site's you should check out the first one is my dive forum called nor cal underwater hunters.com and the other on eis abalone ten divers all about trophy abalone, and it looks like one of you got a ten incher way to go and another that came dam close !
honestly if you can message me the area you were diving I'd be grateful. My family lives in olympia, I live in SoCal, and would love to do the sound when I visit.
This video has clips taken from all over the Puget Sound. For scuba diving I would highly recommend the Edmonds underwater park where you will see some of the largest fish in the sound (No spearfishing though!). For spearfishing, most spots I to get to via boat, check out any kelp beds found on southern Whidbey Island or areas around Deception Pass. Have fun!
wow. im gonna go diving in the sound while i visit some family in Lacy. Cant wait =] but i hope the water isnt really cold cause im used to so cal water temp :\ lol

sweet video, do some more, maybe some footage from a side angle so you can see both spearfisher and prey. Then a little slow mo, would top it off.

By far the best Puget Sound spearfishing video on youtube...should be sent into an amateur discovery channel video making contest...
