  • Not A Very Good Episode . In Fact Aload of Rubbish.

  • Maybe I'm sick, but sorta miss shag carpeting. You don't see that anymore. LOL

  • wow that sucked... prolly worst outer limits ive seen yet

  • lol

  • Someone has probably noted this somewhere else in the comments or am I the only one who has noted that much of the plot here is based upon part of the Stephen King novel "The Tommyknockers"? Except there it was a Jesus picture that talked to the wife. No mention anywhere in the credits of where the original plot idea came from...

  • @SPNWnewswire Hi, Yeah it did say: based on a stephen king novel during the opening credits

  • I saw this when it first broadcasted in the mid 90s. By today's standards, it is unique. But for the standards of broadcast television and even movies of the mid 90s, this episode was truly remarkable and ground breaking for the time in it's portrayal and visualizations in the way a psychotic experiences reality.

  • That or the point was that she was descending into madness and no one around her noticed. Most people would notice if their spouse started talking to pictures or had a bullet in their brain.

If the fact that her husband was so oblivious to her gunshot wound and that by sending her to see a vet, who also couldn't figure it out, directly leads to his own death isn't obvious enough the end narration should be a bit of a hint.

Of course dissecting it kinda ruins the bit where it's funny ):

  • This is really about the silent torture of house wives in the 1970 and 80

  • Hey Becka, beer me! Oh and some penis!

  • Hmmm....maybe I should try a pencil to the brain lol ^__^

  • I've watched a lot of these. This is the first one I didn't like!

  • She became smarter, but then, she got back to being stupid when she grabbed his hand.

  • having the gun in the house caused the death of the paulsons but not the way you would imagine its ironic

  • Ok, for all you Plebs who "Don't" get this tale. It's about a woman who is so mundane in her own life, that she doesn't even realise that she has Shot herself . She doesn't matter to anyone else, so she doesn't even matter to herself. Hence when she says at the end "Oh my God, I shot myself in the head." at the end of the tale. She realises what a waste her life has been. Simple really.

  • @starquant

Finally someone gets it and appreciate a little orginality.

I have been sitting here reading these comments, and was wondering to myself, are people today really this stupid. Whats not to understand

  • @Ericzeppe I find it funny that you think if someone doesn't like the episode and you in turn do then it MUST be too complex. That's unfortunate that your capacity to understand complexity peaks out at around this video. How is it walking through life as a moron? Must be rough.... good luck. Keep watching these deep, insightful, groundshaking pieces AKA The Outer Limits! You'll be the next Einstein in no time at this rate!

  • hrrmm, no, the plot and meaning of this episode was very simple, and thats why i´m surprised that so many people "didnt get it".

But yeah, i´m a smug little fucker :P

  • @ciyean oooooh you're terrible :)

  • It shows that she was bored... Her life had no meaning.. therefore she began to go nuts/get paranoid etc.. Thinking he was cheating, she planned his death. (I DON'T think she Really shot herself..) I think they both died from the electricity.. The bullet may have been just a metaphor for shooting herself by planning & killing her husband & Loosing her mind (going nuts). Finally, she came out of the craziness, realizing what she did & tried to save him, only to kill herself too. That my 2 cents.

  • hmm, very intelligent and thoughtful reply. I hope you go far in this life. You deserve to. :)

  • @starquant

    Thanks. :P

  • Comment removed

  • @laurajdahl I think starquant was being sarcastic. But hey what do I know. :-))

  • Sorry, but this episode made no sense at all really, just random crap happening. Rubbish, IMO.

  • @wootlanter

So this is too complicated for you, huh

Maybe she is acting weird ,seeing hearing things cuz she is braindamaged from that accident.

  • @wootlanter thats because you expect women to be mundane and have no life. If you, yourself, were in fact forced to be a "breeder, dishwasher and scuvvy" for no pay or recognition, then perhaps this "story" would make sense. BY the way, over 90% of women still have this existence. If your happy with that, then fine.

  • I completely forgot I was watching an outer limits episode. This was terrible. They need to stick to aliens.

  • @ciyean

Yes. this is probably too complex for you to handle

  • Not the best episode

  • alright here it is people

moral of the story is dont look down the barrel of a gun whil standing on a box.

    commen sense

  • wtf

  • wow. this was the single most fucked up episode i have ever seen. even the NARRATOR didnt have much to say about it. i guess i left him speechless hahahah!!

  • probably thinking "damn dont mess with that bitch on her time of the month. poor dear all she needs is a good dicking from time to time.

  • This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen...but I guess it makes sense because it's Stephen King. Now I really want to read the book.

  • It was a short story actually. He must have liked it because he reused it in "Tommyknockers". This is a really faithful adaptation though.

  • this episode isn't as strong as the others, but I really do appreciate the quirkiness of it! Catherine O'Hara is a great actress too

  • Traci Lords plays the character "Nancy Voss" in the movie "Tommyknockers."

  • No wonder the husband had an affair...

  • Just imagine the report of the autopsy. The house burnt to the grounds, however, they died electrocuted and also the woman had a bullet in her head. Aah, and a patch over it...

  • I never saw that ending comeing it could have been better written to make a more interesting moral.

  • lol

  • this would have been better as a tales from the crypt episode.

  • Now I get it. Her husband don't like the kind of sex his wife gave him in the last part. He's not having an affair, he secretly likes to suck the man meat

  • Huh, the ending does raise some questions: She realized at the end that she shot herself and the guy in the photo was just a delusion. That means everything he told her could just be made up, including her husband cheating on her. That makes this less about a bored housewife striking out at her cheating husband and more a twisted story of her just going nuts and getting them both killed due to it.

  • pants!

  • dumb

  • Wouldn't the fuse blow?

  • Great episode.

  • That was both weird and funny as hell to watch. Thanks for posting it.

  • beckas hot but her husbands a dick

  • It's Catherine O'Hara

  • not the best outer limits...

  • @raulitech but the funniest :D

  • @raulitech dumb american

  • I think out of all the episodes I've seen of the Outer Limits, this is the only one that genuinely creeps me out. =\

I couldn't sleep after seeing this one.

  • that was rubbish

  • This episode was great! thanx 4 sharing!

  • wow what a waste of time...sorry but this was the absolute worst episode i've seen...apart from the intro voice, i would have never known this was the outer limits

  • hysterical ending. this is a very good episode!!

  • I wish that the sci-fi channel would bring back the newer episodes of the outer limits this show rocked

  • yeah

  • I loved this episode. It's all about the unreliable narrator, you don't know what to believe. And it ended in the logical spot, with her character transition from believing her delusions to finally realizing they were delusions. Of course most TV watchers like flashing lights and alien monsters to keep their attention, but I love the chracter study episodes too.

  • Agreement 100%. Looks like a lot of people hated this, but I thought it was awesome. Like a surreal Cohen Brother's film.

  • that was anti-climatic

  • fail

  • yeah some of these just suck, more alien eps please
