  • thank you for taking the time to share ur craft :)

  • @Azael420 You r more than welcome!

  • Hey Lissa, I was just wondering, I've searched through your vids and haven't found a tutorial for making your massage melts... do you have a vid for that? I'm a freelance masseur and would love to be able to customize stuff for my clients. Oh and thanks so much for the soap making vids... you've inspired me to start making my own!

  • Both Part 1/2 videos were great! And thank you by the way, for sharing what seems to be a long-time family tradition! I'm a beginner and this video was exactly what I needed. I'm def not going to start with mixing my own lye and base, however was curious of the process. Now I know what I can work up to! I'm very excited to try my first natural melt and poor with my daughter (9 years old) this weekend. I'm completely sold on the idea of making homemade products with her! Cheers! :)

  • thank you for posting this..this video makes it much easier to understand the process))

  • Lissa i enjoy watching your videos, can u post us your soap site pls? thanks

  • how much essential or fragrance oil do you use when making your soap?

  • Just wanted to say "THANK YOU" . You were the first person on YouTube I started watching that made CP soaps and I made sure I paid attention and did a lot of research and now I'm making it and I love it. Still just a hobby, I'm not selling yet but anyday now, as soon as I get my website going. Again, Thank you and God bless!

  • You could add lemon zest =D

  • Awesome video!

  • I like the video. But, where I live palm oil is not available. But, for moral reasons I would rather not use it as, there destroying the forests to get it. There ought to be some alternative to it.

  • u dont like to waste but my mom likes to waste... and i realli find your soap making videos more interesting then the others!!~~

  • Can you tell me where you purchased the red molds in this video? Thanks

  • Can you tell how much of each oil you used in this recipe? Thanks

  • I love your video!!How many weeks take to cure?4 weeks?Thanks!

  • Hey hun.

Love this soap!!! Where do you find blueberry seads?

    Hugs,

    Hilary

  • Great video, I think I can do this. I want to make soap as a side business and needed to understand how difficult this was going to be before I jumped in. At the end of the video you said you were going to make another of you removing the soap from the tray and cutting it, I would be intrested in seeing that, how you handle the finished product. I want to make logs or bricks and cut them up, I also want the bars to be the same size since I'm having my own packaging made. Any suggestions?

  • Thank you very much for posting . I learned some cool things from you. I have not yet tried to make soap but when I feel that I have learned enough I will try very carefully and responsibly. Well that is how I learned how to (raku) fire ceramic pottery. I do not have a kiln any more so it is time to move on and try new things. If anyone has anything to share on soap making that would be very cool. Thank You Natalie&Mark

  • I really enjoy your videos especially the soap making videos. I'm very interested in learning soap making. I'm waiting for my soap making books to come from Amazon. I've watched a lot of videos on you tube about the cold process. I noticed that you don't wrap your molds in towels or blankets to cure. Is it really necessary ?

Please make more videos on Soap making. Do you use different shapes of molds ? Thanks again for the good videos. Do you do melt and pour soaps?

  • None of my soaps are melt and our. I wrap them if its cold, but normally i just turn my oven on to warm and place them in there while they set and then take them out and cover them with a towel for a day or 2.

  • where do u get thoses rubber bread things

  • Thank you so much for this video, my mom makes soap and I never understood the fascination, but recently I've gotten into natural skin and body care and I can't wait to give it a try! Very informative and thorough video. Haters back off!

  • Very nice. Thanks for taking the time to prepare and share this. I love your silicone molds.

  • Comment removed

  • i think she'd really good at making these vids i hope she makes more

  • That's a lot of unnecessary criticism for someone who's just sharing a project with people in a casual forum.

In case you didn't know this, it's not meant to be a professional production, you prick.

  • Thanks

  • I know you can't use your utensils for cooking once you have used them to make soap. But what do you use to clean up everything with? Can you wash everything in a dishwasher? Great video

  • I wash by hand and then soak in the sink. I use 1 cup of vinegar in the sink with cold water. That neutralizes the lye. Then I either rinse, or put in the dishwasher.

  • Excellent!

    thank u

  • any ideas where I can find the fragrance oils at a good price, anyone?????

  • what size is yor mold and were did you find it?

  • Hello!

I love your work. I was trying to buy some blueberry seeds, or another fruit seeds, but i didnt find it :( Where can you get something like that?

  • Thanks! Where would you recommend I go to get some cool soap recipes? I think I'm addicted to your viedos.....

  • You are quite welcome! As far as recipes are concerned... go to the library and get some soap making books. If you are familiar with the library's dewey decimal system.. Most soaping books are 668.000 of course the 0's will be numbers for the book but usually in the 668 section. My niece is a librarian. lol it may vary in your district..but just ask the librarian. find a recipe you like and then play with it. I have tweeked mine over time to what it is now.

  • I love watching your videos and Im learning so much on how to make soap. Can you tell me where you buy your soap molds? Thank you!! I will be ordering some of your soap soon:)

  • Tho molds in the video are silicon loaf pans. My mom got them from QVC, they are for bread...but work great for soap!!!

  • TarotLadyLissa, I am new at making soap so I decided to make goats soap when i poured it in the molds the next day there was Oil and a white film on top. Help what did i do wrong.... is my soap ruined.

  • That sounds like one of 2 things...

The first would be not enough lye. The second could be that you didnt mix the oils and lye/milk mixture enough. Milk soaps can be tricky. My suggestion would be to slice off the outter layers of the soap, cut into cubes and cure it for 3 weeks. Then make a fresh batch of soap in a different color and stir in the cubes! Thats a great way to save soap. The middle of the soap should be ok to use, so thats what i would do!!

  • You really should get a stick blender, makes things so much easier! Might wanna give it a try. :0)

  • i have one now

  • i always wanted to learn how to make real soap, thank you so much for making so it easy. your the sh--t! we love you in brooklyn!

  • When does the lye mixture turn safe to handle? When you mix it with the oil/water or after it has cured for a few days? I was just wondering, I was thinking of making soap but was afraid to handle the lye. :-)

  • NEVER EVER touch the lye mixture! Dont touch the lye granules either!!! It is only safe after its been mixed and the soap is cured!

  • So as you are stirring it in the pan don't touch it right? when it's in the molds and firm it's safe to touch for sure? Sorry to ask, I was just intrigued with the process. Thanks for taking the time to answer me. :-)

  • Yeah, you can touch it after its set up. While in the mold it heats up because of the chemical reactions. The heat causes the mixture to "gel". You should insulate the mold by wrapping with towels to keep the heat in. After about 24 hours it will have cooled down, firmed up, and turned into soap!!! Slice and cure!

  • Love you videos - will you share your recipe for the blueberry soap?

  • Thank you! And No, I do not share my recipes

  • that's great ... thanks

  • I want to try this, but I don't understand about the lye. It seems like it's really serious stuff. You wore gloves while you were mixing it. Does the heat it produces neutralize whatever is dangerous about it? What makes it safe for your skin? Do all soaps have lye in it? Thanks so much for making these videos. I'm going to watch you cut the soap into cakes now. Bye!

  • Lye can be very dangerous, that part is true. But when you make soap the chemicals change during a process called saponification. The oils and the Sodium Hydroxide change. At first the acidity and PH are too high for you to use on your skin. After the saponification is comlete and you let your soap cure for about 2-3 weeks, its safe enough to use on a newborn. Im not a chemist, so I cant explain how saponification changes the chemicals, but it does! And makes damn good soap in the process.

  • i loooooove love your videos!!
